This rec center has some serious retro character. I wouldn't call it charming, more gritty and…read moreurban, a survivor. Like a disco era Y in some neighborhood in Philly or Detroit. It is my new favorite spot to bring the fam. No one goes here besides the morning geriatrics. It's small, comically dated, has less amenities or modern equiptment than your average gym, and it's definitely not the cleanest of places..But they are making it work, and likely on a shoestring budget. And I feel like it's all mine! They let me use the water aerobics equipment free of charge. I can shoot hoop with hubby and the kiddies without conflict. Basketball court has even been refinished recently. They plan on moving to a bigger newer building, but that's still years away. So I will enjoy this place while I still can. Just avoid the locker rooms.

Only reviewing the waterpark since that's all we saw…read more The park was nice, appeared to be clean. The kids loved the lazy river and the water slides. They even used the diving board a few times. They thoroughly enjoyed it. The downside of our visit was the three young adult girls wearing g-strings and walking around small children. My youngest was horrified that he could see their "tushies". There's a place for such things but it's not in a children's area. It's indecent and I was surprised they were allowed in. I mean.... you have to wear shoes to enter other establishments... you should have to wear some kind of bum covering in the presence of children. IMO.

This is the 3rd year my children have taken swimming lessons…read more This time their instructor has been odd. My daughter is 9 and tall for her age. The instructor threw an object out for the kids to dive and retrieve. My daughter cannot swim yet and is building her confidence. When she threw out my daughter's object, my daughter tried but couldn't get it. She said the water was right up to her chin and needed help. The instructor wouldn't help her, although she had helped all the other children with this task. My daughter tried to move the object with her foot to get it into a little shallower water and was reprimanded. In the end she didn't pass the skill. When she came back to the parent area she was in tears. I did not confront the instructor. I mean, she is about 16 years old. We had an issue like this the 1st year when the instructor lacked patience. That year we left after the 1st day and didn't return. I have emailed the Station before but never get any response back. If your child is not already confident in the water, then lessons her might not be appropriate for your child.

The camp is tucked down hill in a canyon. One of the best things about this place is--- NO CELL PHONE RECEPTION! You must go up the huge hill to get any. (YES!) There is a ton of cabins, so cute, old, red and quaint! And then there is a new conference area with rooms, a kitchen, a living space, private and public bathrooms. The room I shared had three beds, two twins and a full. A ac, a bathroom with a shower, no tvs! The hall to the rooms have skylights and natural light flows in during the day. The end of the hall, is a door to outside, and faces a canyon wall. The new area is surrounded by the canyon, which is really cool!! Free wi-fi as well for those who need to stay connected to Facebook! The left of the building (when your facing it) has a cute little red gazebo tucked away, which is really nice for meditation. Like I stated earlier, there are other places to say here. I'm assuming for the kiddos who come camping, which in glad I don't stay in their, as I peeked they looked very uncomfortable. The grounds had a pool, playground, meditation labyrinth, tiny chapel, a rope wall, and a short hiking trail to a cross overlooking the camp. I saw deer, and a ton of wild turkeys! So very very nice. Another nice thing is it is 20 mins away from the town of Hinton and the Grand Canyon state park! So after the retreat I took a short detour and explored those areas. VERY VERY NICE, I would highly recommend for those planning a event, (wedding! Retreat! Family reunion!) very relaxing.

It was off season, March, so there were no kayak rentals but we walked along the lake and hiked in the wildlife refuge. We were there to see our grandson at Fort Sill so it was perfect. You do have to go through the base to get into LETRA so plan on getting a visitor pass.

The season pass is the way to go. You can do everything plus have added excursions! I like the kayaking options. I do wish the tubing system they had the first few years was how they did it now. Not a huge fan of the new way the do it but other than that I have no complaints!
