I came in with a lot of heavy hair, and she gave me a life-changing butterfly cut that is both beautiful and functional--I no longer get headaches from the weight! Visited this salon for a little change! Someone recommended this salon and I am happy I went. I recommend Marcia! She is awesome and works really fast. I gave her a general idea of what I wanted, and I got it :-) I loved that she actually round brush dried my hair the proper way and not like all the other salons I have been too outside of Miami. She actually stretched my hair and made it so that my hair wouldn't get frizzy at the root later on (this is something salons out of Miami really need to learn). The girls were friendly had great conversation, those who know me I don't usually chat it up with people I just meet. They made it feel like I've known them my entire life. They gave me an epic transformation. I went in with very damaged hair and low expectations. They were able to make my hair vision a reality somehow. I would have given 5 stars if my hair would have been the correct shade of red I wanted however I still love it. Also it was more money then originally expected from my online appointment setup. Made an appointment online and when I arrived at my time they said there was an issue with my appointment being scheduled between two other appointments (not my fault). I asked how long it would be until I would be seen. She asked the stylist who wasn't too enthused that I questioned how long I would have to wait to be attended to. She rudely responded she still had to wash and dry someone and then apply highlights to someone else so she didn't know. I asked if anyone else could assist as I did have an appointment and of course no one else could assist. Can't speak on their work but their customer service is definitely lacking. And they shouldn't be using online software to book if they don't know how to use it. read more

I'm incredibly happy with the services I've received here thus far! Every single time I've come to this salon Marcia and the staff have been welcoming and very receptive to my wants. She explains things in laymens terms to me and helps me see her vision. The staff constantly offered Cuban coffee and water when I was there and did everything to make me feel comfortable. There's also a nice selection of music playing. Also, the salon does not have one of those really strong smells!!! I mentioned it to Marcia and she said it's because they try to buy products that won't be harmful for the costumer or hair stylist (that's a plus in my book!). Prices Are good and work done here for a blow and trim were also very good. The ladies that work here can be a little ruse though.

I was visiting Hialeah-Miami Lakes area and found this great salon. I can't thank Karen, Denisha and Dunia enough for making me feel at home. My color, blowout and haircut was wonderful and specially Dunia who took her time in making sure my hair was cut perfect! It was a relaxing experience while sipping peach tea! Thanks again, Chickas! I experienced the WORST customer service last week. I bought a Groupon three months ago for their shellac mani/pedi. I'd read many good reviews and was excited to treat myself for my birthday. I made an appointment two weeks ago that I, unfortunately, had to change. I called Chickas Salon wanting to change my appointment to last Thursday at 10am. They said no problem, and someone would call back to confirm. Over eight hours passed by and no one called. When I called them, the person on the line said they weren't told about this change and the 10am spot was taken. I had a flight on Thursday so time was very limited. A 12pm spot was open, so after changing other appointments I had already made elsewhere, I was able to take the 12pm spot. On Thursday, I arrived for my appointment and wasn't acknowledged by any of the workers (and it wasn't busy). After over 10 minutes, someone finally asked if I needed help. I said I had a nail appointment at 12. I was then told that the 10am appointment was taking longer than expected and would run at least an extra hour. I'd already changed (what I was originally told was) my 10am appointment to 12pm, and could not wait over another hour due to my flight. My whole experience with them was completely unprofessional and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. Groupon thankfully gave me a voucher for my money's worth, and I will be getting my nails done elsewhere. read more

I found this place via Groupon, I wanted to try it on for a Gel mani-regular pedi. They were able to give me an appointment on the same day. I was greeted and told that the lady was running a bit late, no problem I was in no rush. Colors to choose were last season, I keep pretty up today with Opi's new colors and always look for the newest line when I go to do my nails. The lady that took care of me (only one nail technician on a Friday), was not aware of my appointment and seem to be bother by it. Everything went well until she cut my middle toe. She also kind of blame me for it saying the she was trying to Cut my cuticle. I really kept my cool, but the cut was not joke, It happened on Friday and it is Sunday and stills hurts that I can even work out because I can't stand to put closed shoes on!! Final words, I will never go back so I don't really recommend it to anyone not even w the Groupon price. read more

I didn't want to do this because it's a small business but a 4 star yelp review is 100% inaccurate and misleading. Note my experience only pertains to nails. I cannot speak to the hair portion of the services. But I had extreme difficulty getting an appointment. Getting canceled and delayed with very short notice and having difficulty rescheduling because they barely answer their phone. Still gave them a shot for a gel mani and pedi. When they finished up I asked whether they were dry and she said yes and rushed me out to pay. They were not dry. Day 1 I ruined a toe nail because they weren't dry. Day 2 two entire finger nails just peeled off. Total waste of money. I look so ridiculous now with two fingernails and one toe nail unpainted without a similar color to retouch. read more
