Kebabish started a new trend as a hybrid between a restaurant and a takeaway more than a decade ago and its fair to say it has caught on. With restaurants increasingly selling 'streetfood' or food more synonymous with fastfood establishments (Think fried chicken at yard & coop) I say, why not!
Chickadees is very much a food joint in the Kebabish mould; Big enough with nearly 35 covers but small enough not to justify restaurant prices. I was impressed by their branding, their service and most importantly their food. Granted it's a bit out the way for most city dwellers like myself but a pleasent surprise indeed for anyone driving back from a sunday stroll in the cheshire countryside.
The grilled chicken we had was done very well and not burnt in the least. The rice were also well cooked and seasoned given the pricepoint. Much like Blakcpool pleasure beach fast food isn't as tacky/reserved for post drunk marauder antics as it used to be. Granted I won't be coming here every week.. or every other week for that matter. But it's good to know that it's there. Because every once in a while it's always nice to get a pre-payday carb fix when your wallet's a tad on the light side. read more
