Let me say you better come with your appetite. Or you're going home with leftovers. I wanted a po-boy, shrimp n crawfish. It wasn't in the menu but waitress made it happen. That's a good waitress. When the platter showed up, it had a po-boy loaded, LOADED, with shrimp and tails. So many that they fell on ver into the FFs. Everything was excellent. Big shrimp. Lots of tails. An excellent tartar sauce. The FFs were some of the best I've ever had. I asked for crispy - they were perfect. I had so much left over the wife and I had it for dinner. When I got home, I told my daughter in law, who's from Shreveport, and she said Sam's is the best. She's right. Can't wait to try other offerings.

(huge parking lot- have our RV) Our server was Jessica and she is amazing! She offered suggestions and I am so glad I listened! I ordered sweet tea, chicken fettuccini (chicken was so tender) red beans and rice and honey bun cake My meal was HUGE- full to go box and was even better than I expected! My husband ordered Dr. Pepper and fried fish Po' Boy with French fries. Everything was delicious and that bread that is with the fettuccini is outstanding! The fries are seasoned well. I attended with a local friend and he confirmed this is authentic. The experience: Friendly staff, a long restaurant with a bar section, followed by the condiments section, followed by a whole other bar somehow? I didn't poke my head back there but I found that intriguing. More on the condiments: They come with any sandwich. I probably took unfair advantage by taking enough lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make an entire salad. I then asked for dressing, which they happily provided at no charge. And sandwiches? Do get. Delicious bread. The default bread appears to be the French - you could opt for their sourdough if you like - and it's not toasted. I love soft bread, and the po' boy was divine as a result. I loved the boudin. I loved that they have alligator sausage in multiple places on the menu. I loved everything about this place except the fact that summer means just about all of the beers were light, and I had to hunt and peck to find beers more my style. Which I did. And maybe those beers are lingering as I type this review. But BeauxJax gave me the warm, fuzzy, welcoming feeling I love in a restaurant. A great stop in Bossier. Worth a detour from Shreveport. Legitimate Cajun.

The process here (at least when we went) is order at the counter, get seated and then the food is delivered to you. So, service is kind of lacking due to no real waiter/waitress. I got the crawfish etouffee and the bread was really good. The etouffee itself might have been sitting there too long... a definitely some overcooked crawfish but it had a good flavor. Maybe earlier in the day would have been better? Overall, our entrees were fine but neither of us finished them and didn't like them enough to take the rest to go. This place fit the need for dinner but I'd actually recommend the burger place next door for better service and food.

The shrimp étouffée sauce is alright and the shrimp for it is bad. The hushpuppies are meh too. The fries are great. You can request additional sauce like honey mustard. It's kind of out of poorly placed. Like it's in a hotel so it's mainly for the hotel residents to eat at. But additionally, it isn't enclosed so you get the rest of the hotel sounds. They do keep the tables clean. Service was fine. They have a counter for you to order food and you just walk up and ask if you need anything. It just didn't feel like a restaurant of its price point for all the above points.
