I was able to stop by about an hour before closing and asked one of the two ladies working there if they made their Cajun seasoning in-house. She confirmed that they do, and they offer both regular and low-sodium versions. I went with the low-sodium seasoning and decided to grab a few things to eat while I was there. I picked up two alligator bites, and they were phenomenal. Then I tried two Pepper Jack Boudin Balls, and those were even better. I could honestly eat those at any time of day and be completely happy with life. What really surprised me was how fresh everything tasted. Since some of the food was under the heat lamp, you might expect it to be a little dry, especially the alligator bites, but it was the complete opposite. The outside was crispy, the inside was hot, fresh, and flavorful, and everything had just the right amount of spice. It honestly tasted like it had been made shortly before I walked in. I also grabbed a smoked chicken wing because another customer told me they were really good. He was absolutely right. He was also picking up what looked like an entire platter of Boudin Balls, enough for a football party or family gathering, and mentioned that he comes here all the time. That definitely made me feel like I had stopped at the right place. The customer service was excellent as well and the ambiance is refreshing. I wasn't sure where the Cajun seasoning was, and instead of simply pointing me toward the back corner, one of the ladies actually walked around the counter, grabbed it for me, and asked whether I wanted regular or low sodium. Being a truck driver, you are often limited to gas station and truck stop food, and I get tired of that pretty quickly.
