Sigh. I typically don't review large chains because I figure they'll stay the same regardless of my input, but I'm so frustrated I have to make an exception. I doubt anything will change, but what is Yelp for except to scream into the void? Look, I love Chick-fil-a. They're generally very consistent and the food is high quality compared to many other fast food franchises. This Chick-fil-a is not too different. The workers are pleasant and the drive through moves at an okay pace. Maybe not up to Whitesburg Drive speed (what I view as the Huntsville CFA gold standard), but again, faster than you'd see at a McDonald's or Wendy's with a similar volume of customers. The one time our order was wrong, they corrected the issue very quickly and were polite and courteous about it. Additionally, it has been clean and well kept when I've dined in. But. I go here maybe once a week. I tend to want a big meal, as I try to do one meal a day -- it allows me to have whatever I want. So I tend to order a large fry. And solidly 70-80% of the time, this Chick-fil-a shorts me on the portion size. Sometimes it's extremely substantial, such that the portion is really, essentially, a medium (even though I paid for a large). Other times, the container will be fuller, but still only maybe 75%. I'm sure I'm probably coming off as a whiny, entitled brat, but man, it's frustrating to invest so much money into a place and to be continuously disappointed. We arrived around 5:15 PM, were first up to the squawk box to place our order, and it was ready by the time we pulled around. I came inside to eat bc i had some time to kill before going into my job. Desiree greeted me, and she asked what id like to order, and when i started to order and give a complete thorough order on just a 3 piece tender meal with a large dr pepper. Someone else comes in, and she then disregards anything I say. Rings in the tenders in, and then proceeds to give me a medium dr pepper. Im not complaining that i got a medium dr pepper, im just saying before talking to someone else in the middle of taking an order and getting the order wrong just shows carelessness. Extremely slow in the mornings. They need more than 1 register/person and 1 front line worker/manager working. With all of the pickup orders and eat in customers, they can't get it done in a timely manner. It results in waiting times far too long. It shouldn't take 20 minutes to be able to order. The manager at this chick Fil a, didn't get her name, in Hampton cove is outright disrespectful. We ordered two chick Fil a biscuits both were free. One was redeemed using customers points and second was redeemed from a free reward gifted. When going to the pick up window the manager came over and told us that we got one free biscuit when the worker had scanned our reward for the second free one and we placed on online mobile order for the first free one which was already redeemed and processed. After nearly 15 min of the manager arguing with us and telling us that we were wrong, we finally received the free biscuit that we had already redeemed points for. I eat at this Chick Fil A quite a bit. The food and service is always exceptional. Today I went and got my standard order but the food was not up to the standard I've become accustomed to. Chick-fil-A is a staple for my family - one of the reasons is because Chick-fil-A is always known to be fast, efficient, and always has our correct order. We've used Chick-fil-A for several birthday parties. Until we moved to Owens Cross Roads. This Chick-fil-A is by far the slowest we've ever been to. The drive thru, dine in, mobile orders. When we first moved here, we put in an order for my daughters party. Two chicken nugget platters. We ordered it the night before. Got to Chick-fil-A to pick it up at the time we selected prior, 10:30am for her 11am party. Stood in the lobby for almost 40 minutes until they gave me the food. We were late to our own party and we didn't even get an apology. The expo line is always a hot mess. People yelling, missing items. You'll go in, order then stand there waiting for your Togo order for an easily 20 minutes. Drive thru is even worse. You'll be stuck in the line for 20-35 minutes with no way to escape. Before we moved here, we'd grab Chick-fil-A at least twice a week after ball practice and cheer. My husband refuses to go to the one here in owens cross roads so when we do go, we drive into Huntsville. Chicken Sandwiches are hard and bread soggy. Maybe someone can train the management staff and get this restaurant running like all the others. read more

Still don't get the hype. It is chicken. It's fast food. Not always fast tho. But that is typical to area. Always crowded tho so I rarely go. I decided to order inside to avoid drive thru mix ups. Silly me. I don't know the menu well but assumed I got fries with a combo. I thought maybe the chicken sandwiches had something other than bread and assumed the "cool wrap" I looked at online had Avocado dressing? It's not my go to place as its a pain to get to and always crowded. I can get kids same garbage chicken across street at sonic when in a hurry. Usually I just pack coolers. I've stopped by here a few times while traveling and each time it's been fast and accurate. This time I bought nuggets and a custom sandwich and both orders were correct and tested great. I also got a large ice water with one of the meals and they correctly charged me for a sandwich and fries instead of the meal, which saved me money. I'd recommend this location. read more

I think all CFAs everywhere are doing this, but I'll not visit any restaurant that doesn't have their dining room open. IF they have a sign that says "we can't open because we have no employees because too many people are slackers taking government checks" - then maybe. BUT most of CFA's workers are generally teens, as it should be most of the time, so that shouldn't be an issue. CFA drive thru lines are regularly long, and not having inside open makes it horrendous. At this location, there are cones and tape strung all over the place directing people to the drive-thru. And then they want to take your order before you are anywhere near the menu sign. So if you don't know what you want, or what they have, I guess you are screwed. You pull up to the window and they have to ask you who you are to know what order to pull out. The whole experience is nonsense, and though I like the food there are plenty other places where I can go sit down, relax, and not run a gauntlet in my car. read more

The double DT is unnecessary and confusing to merge at the last minute. Also since AT&T appears to still be closed, your DT would flow A LOT faster if mobile order customers had the option to announce they are there and pull up in designated parking spots. The adult workers I've experienced didn't smile, looked lazy (staring out to space rather than great a customer or help ask to take their order), and looked like they hate their jobs. Fast and fresh service! The employee who came to bring our drinks accidentally spilled one but he was so friendly and quick to clean it all up and pour us a new one! We brought 8 young kids and the adults were able to sit and enjoy talking over lunch as we watched the kids play beside us in the sound proof play area that was great! read more
