Santa cow was here! Wow! I (and family) frequent this location for their many many activities for the kids. Today was no exception...they had story time, Santa cow, raffle prizes, crafts and cookies! We were able to have our breakfast AND entertain the kids with wholesome activities! We ordered chicken minis, spicy chicken breakfast burritos, spicy chicken biscuit, and hash browns. All were so delicious. Staff were very friendly and the environment was clean considering how busy they were! I'm glad this location is off the interstate and near where I work. I was travelling back to BR on a busy Saturday at lunchtime. Not only did I pull up and there were 8 cars ahead of me, but I also asked a couple of menu questions, ordered, paid, receiving my food, and I was back on the interstate within 10 minutes or arriving. I noted the time....10 minutes! The food was hot, delicious, and fresh. I tried to look at the menu ahead of time, but the stop was sort of a last minute decision, so I just went with an old favorite. The line was well managed, the parking lot was clean. The delivery is not free there is a $3.99 fee that applies to the total at the end ( this might be different in other areas and states). But I was very surprised that each item was sealed with the red tape. I will say that the online ordering is not as customizable as in person or drive thur so it was hard to order my normal meal the way I like it. Also there was a huge mix up on my drink order and meal but I guess they didn't check the order before delivery. OK. I will grant the Chick-fil-A has a good sandwich and a better ad campaign. However, they must be making a killing having cars lined up to wire all the way around the building to buy a five dollar chicken sandwich for $12 I would love to have a piece of that action, some people love their "special sauce" and buy it by the bottle, but I think it's just an inaccurate knock off of remoulade sauce. There was one nearby when I lived in Austin, and there's one really close by here in Gonzales, Louisiana even though I've lived here for several months, I've never had the compulsion to go there, even when other things are closed. I still gave them four stars because the food is good in their system keeps things moving swiftly, so even though you have to get in a long line, your food is fresh and ready fairly quickly. I could take her leave the waffle fries, but I was brought up with a nearly perfect fries. They serve at McDonald's and really good fries that are served at a lot of other places. I especially love puffy steak, Frites, that I've been fried twice; once at low temperature, and allowed to cool and then quit fried at a very hot temperature, decrease them, up on the outside (this can also be done with small, peeled red potatoes, or Yukon, Gold potatoes, but I've only seen those at a restaurant once, and that was the rather exclusive Baton Rouge Country Club), My brother boycotts them because as a family owned business, they have chosen to close on Sundays for religious reasons, but I believe that is their constitutional right if I'm not mistaken. They have also been slow on the uptake with respect to transitioning over LGBTQ equality, which is created quite a bit of controversy for the company. That said, however, I like their short menu (long menus are known to cause "menu anxiety" as it is difficult to make a choice quickly), and the idea of getting in and out with a bag of really fresh food in just a few minutes, might even be worth the extra cost. If the high points of this review were the elevator pitch for a business plan, I would want to invest since the company is not publicly traded. Southwest salad is delicious, it's better than any sit down restaurant salad. Pairs great with the creamy salsa (basically their version of chipotle dressing). The seasoned pepitas give it an extra crunch and I personally love that it has fresh jalapenos diced in the salad, along with black beans and corn. Went to chick-fil-a last night to place an order to pick up today for my daughters basketball team. It was for 22 girls. They were so helpful and answered a ton of my questions I had. Austin was the one who helped us pick different items and help me stay in my budget of $200 since I was paying out of my own pocket for the teams meal. Also he suggested that we do a Mac and cheese and my daughter wasn't sure if their Mac and cheese was good so he actually gave her a free cup and said let me know what you think. One of my favorite food stops now right off the interstate! It was VERY crowded when we got here and noisy and messy. But the whole time there have been workers going around, delivering meals, asking if you need refills or anything, and cleaning up. She's sweeping next to us now. Even though it was busy it didn't take long to get through the line or receive our food. They do have a play pen for kids which looks fun!
