Instead of having 6 lazy kids, who ignore customers, working on a Saturday afternoon, hire two good people who understand what cuts of meat they're selling and who have customer service skills and pay them what they're worth. Why did I wait so long to visit the Healthy Buffalo?!…read more My husband & I stopped in right when they opened on a Sunday morning. We were immediately greeted & assisted by the owner, Jason. He was beyond friendly & wanted to make sure our questions were answered. The freezers are conveniently labeled so that you can find the products you desire. Love that they bring in various vendors, including Fossil Farms (NJ) but also some local NH products. There are also other products, such as dressings, marinades, seasonings, etc. for sale. The store is small but very clean. Taking a left onto route 4 is a challenge but still worth a visit. The prices are extremely fair! There is also a rewards program where you can get $ off for every so many points. We signed up that very day & already have 58 points. For example, you earn $5 off for 50 points, or $10 for 100 points etc. Worth it to me! Jason said they are currently working on a new location in Epsom at the circle. It will have a different name & more of a butcher shop. He plans to keep The Healthy Buffalo open for another year, depending on inventory & how sales go with the new location.

That wouldn't have been a big deal, but the woman working at the front desk was extremely rude and made the interaction feel unnecessarily unpleasant. For context, I was there to pick up meat for a large party and planned to spend around $2,000. Instead, I took my business to another local butcher. I'm not saying Wicked Good Butcha doesn't offer quality products--I've heard good things about their meat. My issue was solely with the customer service and the way I was treated. A little courtesy and professionalism would have gone a long way. I left feeling genuinely disrespected, which was disappointing.

Wow they didn't want to sell me a $200 roast they have on hand? Very weird. I'll cash my "Loyalty Member" points/credits & will be done. Last week, for the first time ever, we ended up with a steak that just wasn't up to their usual standard. Honestly, it's so rare for them that we didn't think much of it, but my husband stopped in today and mentioned it. What happened next is exactly why we keep going back. They didn't just acknowledge it -- they went above and beyond. They replaced it with a free NY strip steak, and on top of that gave us Prime Butcher playing cards and a big bottle of their "Everything" seasoning. Completely unexpected and absolutely appreciated. That kind of customer service is hard to find these days. They didn't have to do any of that, but they did -- and it speaks volumes about who they are. The manager and staff are always smiling, cracking jokes, and just genuinely good, down-to-earth people. And the meat? Always beyond delicious -- you won't find better anywhere else.
