We made a reservation prior to coming because in order to make it inside you need to book a reservation. The establishment is small which is why you have to reserve. We came at around 10:45 and our reservation was for 11:00. They sat us down right away. The vibes are chill and cool, there's a dj playing music. It was like house, tech vibes. The music was great and people were enjoying their time. We had 1 cocktail each and went on our way because we just came to check out the spot honestly. I had the fabulous martini which has a purple hue to it, it was very refreshing. I love that they garnish it with a lavender. The espresso martini was made with Don Julio Reposado, and had real fresh espresso as per the menu. It was good but a bit strong too! We had asked for an extra shot of espresso on the side just as a pick me up. But our server told us that it comes cold, which is odd because the menu literally says freshly brewed espresso in the cocktail description. It was fine though, we still enjoyed the drinks. Overall, our experience was nice! If you are ever in the Hialeah area, you should totally check this spot out. They also have bites you can order but we were full from dinner and didn't get a chance to try anything. Definitely have to come back to try some more cocktails and grab some bites!

Picture this - you walk into a tropical oasis and have the option of cocktails from Jaguar sun, wine selections from Bad Seed - a new wine bar pop up from Karina and the folks at Niu Wine -, rotating food from some of Miami's most loved chefs and last but not least - MUSIC! You'd think these folks just took your best friends magical back yard and created the most fun party in their house, but instead its at Understory and you can enjoy this oasis weekly on Thursday's and Fridays. I went for the first time last Thursday where I got to try a rum punch but with Mezcal that was delish. Then I moved on to a selection of delish wines and pizza by Flour and Weirdoughs. To say the vibe is impeccable is an understatement. I happily stayed until they closed at midnight, passing the time hanging out with friends and listening to the most fire playlist. They also have live jazz that starts at 9, which you can't really hear from the wine bar area since the space is so large, and DJs later in the evening as well as Friday. You can enjoy free entry before 8:30 pm. The best way to stay up to date on their weekly pop ups is to follow them on IG at @Understorymia. Can't wait to return!

My gf is of Haitian background, and I've gotten well acquainted with Haitian food. The food here was excellent. While I was initially disappointed that the a la carte menu was not available on a Sunday, we went for the buffet, and it exceeded our expectations. I felt like the items in the buffer were so good they could to be served a la carte. My favorites were the snappers, the djon djon, the griot, the beef skewers, and the rum cakes (OMG, you have to try the rum cakes!). The ambiance here was wonderful. You can't tell from the outside, but once you are inside, you'll find a nice decor with great music, great service, and a somewhat upscale vibe. As mentioned before, this isn't a sweatpants & hoodie type of buffet; look at their social media photos for reference. Also, this buffet isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. I recommend this place and look forward to trying the a la carte specialties on my next visit.

D-Vine was even better than described! First, I have to start off by saying that I grew up in the neighborhood and I still accidentally drove right past it, so drive slow once you get close. The complimentary valet is such a nice touch. Once you get in, you instantly feel the elegance of this place. The decor is very nice! Now... let's talk about the food... boy oh boy. If this place wasn't so upscale, it would DEFINITELY warrant a "wear your stretchy pants" decree lol. This is a buffet but a lot of items are cooked to order, which elevates the menu and brings it to an entirely new level. Our waiter brought out shrimp and grits that were cooked to perfection, a crab leg bowl that truly changed the game (there is a sauce they add to it that is spicy, sweet deliciousness) and he also brought out these plantain appetizers that were so unique and yummy. The staff adds to the amazing experience here. Everyone is friendly, professional and so nice. I truly felt as if I was walking into a family reunion where everyone in the family actually likes each other lol. Overall, now I see why this place is taking over Sundays in Miami. The music, the vibe, the people and the food is just everything that you want it to be. I cannot wait to come back.

A large group of us gathered here for dinner and late-night drinks on a Friday night. This is a fun, happening spot. It's ideal if you're looking for a casual, laid-back night out in Miami. The rooftop can handle a lot of people. My wife and I ordered food downstairs at Manjay, the Caribbean/Haitian stall at the food court, and took it up to the rooftop (there's an elevator). You are allowed to do this at the Citadel (take food from the food court up to the roof). Staff on the rooftop will bus trays and tableware. I recommend Manjay, by the way, and left a review for it separately here on Yelp. On the rooftop, I had a couple of martinis, one extra dirty. They were well made and delicious. Our friends had a variety of drinks including beer (e.g., Monopolio Mexican amber lager). Pint glasses were served iced over which is certainly nice in the South Florida heat. Service was good. The staff was nice. Several of the chairs had holes in the seats, so that was annoying. The vibe was lively and friendly. Good music.

The restaurant is conveniently located right on the downtown strip with free street parking nearby, which is always a plus. The atmosphere was inviting from the moment we walked in. The host welcomed us and told us we could sit anywhere we liked, so we chose a quieter table away from the bar area. There is also a stage section that looked perfect for live music nights, although there was no entertainment during our visit. Overall, the ambiance was trendy, relaxed, and had a great neighborhood feel. They also appeared to have some very good happy hour specials for those who drink. Our server was very sweet and offered several recommendations. We decided to share the burrata appetizer and the skirt steak dinner. The steak arrived first and looked absolutely beautiful. The quality of the meat itself was outstanding and cooked very well. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable charred flavor from what seemed like a dirty grill, which took away from an otherwise excellent steak. It was disappointing because the quality of the meat was truly superb. The fries were also surprisingly good and almost tasted closer to sweet potato fries. At that point, we realized our burrata appetizer had been forgotten. Once we flagged down our server, she immediately corrected the mistake and brought it out quickly. Thankfully, it was absolutely delicious and ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. The fresh burrata paired perfectly with the heirloom tomatoes and tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. Toward the end of dinner, service became difficult again. We were ready for more water, a box, and the check, but our server was nowhere to be found despite the restaurant not being particularly busy since it was still early in the evening. I eventually had to get up and ask the bartender for assistance. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance and appreciated the quality of the food. There were definitely some service inconsistencies, but the restaurant has a lot of potential and several dishes that stood out.
