The CTA drivers hate me just like I hate them. When I board a bus the driver will always gun the engine while I'm moving towards a seat. It's a game they play. I pull the cord to get off the bus and the driver will stop so that the back door opens to a public trash container. To be sure to get where I was going on time, I would take a bus that it is one bus earlier than the bus that would supposedly get me there on time. If I counted on the one bus it would always not show up. They are just government employees but they all act like the world owes them. I boarded a bus without a mask (it was tolerated by enough drivers) and the driver ran the "Federal Law" announcement five times in a row. If the driver feels like it he'll turn off the visual signs and voice announcements for the stops on the route. The complaint about politics being more important than proper driving is right. They are interested in any kind of power, be it the power behind a wheel or other power. One driver was very interested in talking politics with me more than doing her job which is driving a bus. While I waited at a stop the bus came, stopped and drove off without opening the door when the driver saw who it was. I'm a white male and driving a bus enables them to express their racism towards whites. It's been institutionalized. If there is something wrong with the way a customer is treated the simplest and most logical reason is their racism. I was at a stop in time for the bus' scheduled arrival and there was no bus. It was in the early evening, I waited 45 minutes before the next bus came. That's how far they will go. I've been at a stop and the bus will drive right past me. Usually the scheduled bus doesn't arrive so I wait twice as long for a bus. If asked about this they have a ready made excuse. Just take their badge number. If it is bitterly cold outside that's all the more reason for the driver not to show up. read more
