I'm too old to be enticing friends to carry my crap up and down stairs with beer and pizza, it was time to grow up. And Long Distance Movers is the company for that grown up move. First they have representatives that will not only quote your move but also check in and stay as your point of contact throughout the entire process. My rep was excellent in following up and responding to all of my questions and requests. He went out of his way to make my requested dates and times work, and that in itself already makes the costs come close to being worth it. But the movers themselves make it a no-brainer. They were courteous, polite, and professional. They also took a lot of time and care into helping prepare my items to go into storage and take the trip across a couple states. I thought I did well packing but they really improved on my work, rearranging and wrapping items that seemed loose or wobbly. I felt everything was super safe and taken care of when they were done. Good people throughout the company and good practices made my move super easy and convenient and the personal interactions make it completely worth the cost. Highly recommended for moving longer distances.

After moving my senior parents out of their home of 54 years to another state, the last task was…read morethe physical packing and moving of the house hold items. Based on the reviews, we choose Long distance Movers. My parents lived on the 3rd floor of our family building and held years worth of items including a book and album collection as well as some antique furniture items. I worked with the sales team all the way up until the day of the move and made adjustments based on time and necessity. The move time was pushed back several times, which I remained flexible on. The driver (Mike) called me to let me know they were running late, I said no problem. I could tell in that conversation, (Mike) did not sound pleasant at all. When Mike and Alex arrived, it was confirmed, he was not interested in the job at all. The other mover (Alex) was friendlier. I began to show them the items that needed to be packed and I showed them around the property. Mike said we had more than what was listed on the quote. I advised the quote had be revised several times and we decided to not take some of the larger pieces. There was (1) item located on the first floor (that I sent pictures of) and some items in the basement. After showing both movers what needed to be done, I asked if they would rather park their truck in the alley. They agreed and said they would pull around back. THEY NEVER CAME BACK!!! I called Mike several times and did not get an answer...then the calls went to voicemail. I then attempted to call my sales person Matthew and realized the phone number listed does not allow you to enter an extension number. I then tried the representative who called me to confirm the move. I had to leave VM with both and wait for a call back. They were very surprised and apologetic but could not tell me why the drivers left with no notice. I was eventually told they could not "Accommodate" our needs! I completely understand how overwhelming that task may have appeared to someone walking into a large apartment, that wasn't the most organized or tidy, but isn't that what that $4,000+ quote was paying for. What if we had to be out of the property within days? To leave the job and make me wait for 30 minutes in the alley is completely unprofessional. Moving in general is extremely stressful, now imagine being a couple of senior citizens, one of which is a disable veteran battling cancer and being told their movers left without notice!

Sounded good so I contacted the guy directly through text; guy was responsive but with short answers. Requested availability and he provided an 8-10am service time the next day (Sunday). Provided addresses for pickup and confirmed they accepted credit card. I also told them to let me know if they needed anything. No texts after that, assuming everything was good. For pickup day, still no response. No confirmation. Waited the allotted time just to make sure the 8-10 was not for arrival time. Not sure if it was just not scheduled or just a missed appointment, but they ended up not coming. So I texted them back saying I will go to a different service. Lesson learned on my part. make sure to talk to the guy on the phone and get verbal or written confirmation and verify arrival time.

They showed up on time (early, actually, which already felt suspiciously competent), wrapped everything like it was headed to a museum or being launched into space, and treated my father-in-law's belongings with more care than most people treat their own stuff. Not a scratch. Not a dent. Not a single "oops." My father in law had some physical limitations and used a cane to get around and they were so patient and kind to him. I've NEVER had movers that were so careful. We were blown away. Professional, fast, respectful, genuinely kind and they even gave us helpful tips along the way, which you never expect but absolutely appreciate when your brain is fried from moving logistics. No drama. No attitude. Just calm, efficient excellence from start to finish. I would recommend this company to anyone: family, friends, strangers on the internet, people I meet in line at Target. If I ever have to move again, I will not even pretend to shop around. These are THE movers. 10 stars. Standing ovation. Truly amazing !!!!!!

They acted very professionally and showed a lot of foresight in planning and strategizing the move of each large piece of furniture. I was pleasantly surprised that they both were willing to take apart the furniture, wrap the pieces carefully in blankets, and then reassemble each piece of furniture at the new location . . .do all movers do that?? As you can see, I've never hired professionals until now. They both also asked me about things that I may have forgotten to include in the move, such as my bike and stuff in my old storage locker - very appreciated their thoughtfulness! I remember Dale asking me specifically if the entertainment table for my TV could be disassembled or if it had been originally purchased as one solid piece - he was concerned that the tempered glass surfaces of the table might need to be removed and wrapped up for transport. Keith noticed that the floor where I wanted my bookshelves to be placed in the new location sloped upwards toward the baseboard, which potentially could've caused the bookshelves to topple over if they overloaded with books on the top shelf. He recommended buying some shims from Home Depot or some hardware store to secure the base of the bookshelves...I didn't even know what a shim was until he told me lol. Their friendly demeanor and some of the joking and jesting with me reminded me of the type of personality that's commonly found in successful comedy improvisers. All I know is they had me chuckling quite a bit during what could've been a very stressful move for me. I'll definitely keep your firm in mind if I or any of my acquaintances are in need of movers.
