The brewery skews towards German style brewing which again, is pretty typical of a lot of breweries. The location really shines with its outdoor patio. There is a big outdoor area which is very family (and pet) friendly. They often have live music on the weekend. The brewery itself doesn't have any food, but they have rotating food trucks that come in. The day we were there it was a wood fired pizza truck which was pretty good. Everyone in our group had a good time, and I liked the overall vibe. I will note there were a lot of kids (between us our group of our adults had four kids) so keep this in mind if you go. Overall the beer was good, the atmosphere was perfect for the summer, and we enjoyed our time at this spot.

That in conjunction with the property which is sprawling and offers plenty of outside space to enjoy as well. No food here, but they do host different food trucks and events (live music, yoga, festive holiday, etc). I've seen everything from big kids to mini me's to fury friends outside. If Long Grove is having a festival (when do they not ;) Feel free to take your beer in a plastic to go cup and bring with to the festival. Alas, you will not find Buffalo type beers at the festival. Interestingly enough, you will not find a Buffalo booth at the festivals, at least there was not one for Strawberry Fest; but it's a short walk across the parking lot to secure a good german pour and get your fest on.

We ordered a Coke and Frappe (Greek Iced Coffee). The frappe was mediocre. It wasn't strong with the coffee being muted. Most frappe I've had at Greek restaurants are normally strong and coffee first. Hubs ordered the Hangry Man burger. He said it was ok, a burger. Nothing extra wow, but good. The waffle fries were the true winner and absolutely delicious! I ordered the make your own omelette with mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, corned beef hash, and Monterey Jack cheese. It was light, fluffy, and full of ingredients. The pancakes had a nice chew, fluffy, and had a hint of sweetness to it. Overall, it was a good meal. Nothing extra wow, except for our friendly server, and the food is good! It's a little one the pricey side, but so is everything these days. Definitely try Brunch Factory.

The menu had lots of options from Mexican brunch items to French toast to skillets and much more. I got the brunch factory pie which was filled with bacon and really hefty. Also tried the morning fuel juice that woke me right up with the turmeric and carrots. The banana foster french toast was super sweet. We ended up having to take some of it home because we couldn't finish it from how sweet the caramel was. There were only 2 stalls for the bathroom and with how large the restaurant is, it resulted in a line with a little bit of a wait. For your birthday they send you $5 to spend so definitely sign up for their rewards program when you pay at their tablet. Lots of parking around the restaurant. Overall a decent brunch place but the food is just ok.

Hence why Loft 21 is such a popular option for bar mitzvahs and other big events. If you have a 12/13 year old kid going thru the mitzvah circuit chances are you'll end up here. The venue itself is owned by Jazmine at Hype Productions. I haven't rented out Loft 21, but have hired Hype twice and been thrilled with everyone I"ve worked with over there so I"m guessing this is so exception. Jazmine is very on top of everything, which is perfect for my type A personality. While I highly recommend Hype for event production you can bring in others to the space. The bar mitzvah we attended this past weekend had Tenny from Flo as their MC. The space can easily be transformed and seems to work with any theme. And for those who don't want to go crazy with decor it's a pretty venue on it's own. They have a nice area upstairs for cocktails. People tend to congregate near the bar which can make it crowded so I recommend putting a food station (or extra bar) in the area separated off so that people spread out just a bit. This area also overlooks the ballroom so at the end of the cocktail hour they do a big reveal by showing the room down below, which is cool. The acoustics in the space aren't great and my biggest complaint is that I can't hear anyway near me while I"m there. I can also barely hear any speeches when I'm in the space. However, it works great for music, montages and anything else you need.

The wait staff were hospitable and helped us with anything that we needed! Forgot to take pictures of the food, but the family style lunch menu was a hit with everyone, and so much food! We appreciated being able to get more food as needed. The short rib was worth the upcharge and a fan favorite. If we need to host any more large parties like this, Saranello's is definitely on our list!

I noticed a portrait on the wall next to the stand and inquired who it was. Her name was Sara Rowe, and it's a loving memorial to a long time Melman partner. Melman combined her first name, Sara, with a classic Italian suffix to create the name "Saranello's". It's an upscale restaurant with upscale food. But at a mid-scale price point, Thanks for that! The food: I had the baked eggplant parm, since I'm from Chicago. You know what I mean if you're local. And it's my new benchmark. Well done! The wife had the braised short rib ravioli. It's now her desert island dish. It's a very very nice space. And our server knew the menu backwards and forwards. Anyone who's had the grated "parmesan" in the green can will appreciate the genuine Parmiggiano Reggiano they serve here. Freshly grated with no cellulose, and that beautiful tang! With homemade tiramisu for dessert, and a glass of wine, the tab was about $75, but you get what you pay for, and you'll get what you're paying for here!

Most holes are lined with trees on both sides and there a variety of holes that make you shape your drives. Some shots require a blind shot to greens if not placed properly. Greens were true and in decent shape with moderate speed/undulation, and not many ball marks. The clubhouse is quite roomy and has a variety of great food. The cons: No driving range. There are 2 cheesey nets with mats for practice. Some holes didn't have water in the ball cleaners and water fountains didn't work. Some greens were littered with leaves which made putting impossible. These are basic necessities that need to be checked and maintained regularly. It's an easy course to find. We paid $41 on November 1st, which is a good deal for a course of this caliber. The pace of play was 5 hours, but I'm sure it's longer in the summer. If management maintained the basic necessities properly, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars.

I am so pleased with our overall experience and my guests loved every single detail of the venue. If you are looking for a venue that can be customized, reasonable price and intimate, I definitely recommend trying out this space. It is an absolutely stunning space. Many of my guests walked in and could not stop remarking how great the place was. Carrie, who was our main contact, was communicative and responsive! We found Loft 329 after needing to change the venue last minute from my original one. From day one of reaching out, Carrie was quick to respond, she managed to fit my mother in for a quick tour and booking was super easy. She even went out of her way to try to help us find a rental for some tables and chairs. Definitely do not pass this space up if you're looking for an affordable, flexible and gorgeous event space!

However, I've been to more bar mitzvah celebrations there than I can count...and if you're looking for a venue that can do a turnkey mitzvah this is it. When looking for my own celebrations I looked elsewhere because I prefer a venue that's a little different, but Ravinia Green has the process down and makes it easy for those planning. Cocktail hour: I've been to cocktail hours in the restaurant, another room within the club and outside. I will say outside is the way to go if the weather cooperates, but unfortunately the weather is unlikely to cooperate in Chicago. Main space: It's a spacious room that's perfect for about 200 (an estimate) people. It's always the same set up with the stage straight ahead, bar in the back, photo booth to the far right and food stations towards the back and to the left. Tables are set up throughout the room with the kids typically being closer to the dance floor. It's a nice space that's easy to make beautiful with the right decor company. Food: I find the food to be fair here, but that's typically the case when it comes to serving food to the masses. I've been to parties where they can take quite a long time to service everyone from the stations so I recommend having 2-3 stations that aren't right next to each other to keep the lines down. I've found their Mexican and gyro stations to be the best. Dessert: This is what they do best so if you are at an event save room for lots of delicious desserts. I usually find apps and desserts (and skipping the entree) is the way to go at most events I attend and i know if i'm going to to ravinia green that the desserts will be extra tasty. Cost: I've never seen a proposal, but I'm sure planning an event is pricey, but i have heard it's more reasonable than many other local venues. We've been to so many events here that my family often says "again?" when i announce we are going to Ravinia Green, but there's something to be said for consistency and they consistently do a good job with them.

They are so laid back we loved it, a lot of venues we went to check out were pretty black and white, you can have option A or option B, no substitutions and it really turned us off to venue viewings, it seemed like we were being bullied into take it or leave it this is your only option.
