When I went up to put my name on the list, the man writing names down was extremely rude to me and my family. I ordered two eggs with bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. The eggs and potatoes were good, but the pancakes tasted strange, and the bacon tasted old and honestly pretty disgusting. My sister ordered the "Factory French Toast," and she said it literally tasted like something that came straight from a factory. My mom ordered the meat omelet and said it was just okay. When it was time to pay, we asked for the check to be split three ways. When we received the bill, we noticed they had charged us an additional fee just for splitting it. On top of that, while we were waiting in line to pay, the employee clearly saw us standing there, yet allowed another man to cut in front of us. There was also a confusing moment when my sister accidentally dropped a few things, including her card and my mom's card. Someone at the front helped pick them up, but then tried to pay using whichever card he had in his hand with a random receipt. My sister had to politely correct him. I'm giving this course a 3 1/2. It's a beautiful and challenging course that's in decent shape with…read moregood length at 6800 yards and a slope rating of around 127. The pros: GPS on carts! Most holes are lined with trees on both sides and there a variety of holes that make you shape your drives. Some shots require a blind shot to greens if not placed properly. Greens were true and in decent shape with moderate speed/undulation, and not many ball marks. The clubhouse is quite roomy and has a variety of great food. The cons: No driving range. There are 2 cheesey nets with mats for practice. Some holes didn't have water in the ball cleaners and water fountains didn't work. Some greens were littered with leaves which made putting impossible. These are basic necessities that need to be checked and maintained regularly. It's an easy course to find. We paid $41 on November 1st, which is a good deal for a course of this caliber. The pace of play was 5 hours, but I'm sure it's longer in the summer. If management maintained the basic necessities properly, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars.

I will say outside is the way to go if the weather cooperates, but unfortunately the weather is unlikely to cooperate in Chicago. Main space: It's a spacious room that's perfect for about 200 (an estimate) people. It's always the same set up with the stage straight ahead, bar in the back, photo booth to the far right and food stations towards the back and to the left. Tables are set up throughout the room with the kids typically being closer to the dance floor. It's a nice space that's easy to make beautiful with the right decor company. Food: I find the food to be fair here, but that's typically the case when it comes to serving food to the masses. I've been to parties where they can take quite a long time to service everyone from the stations so I recommend having 2-3 stations that aren't right next to each other to keep the lines down. I've found their Mexican and gyro stations to be the best. Dessert: This is what they do best so if you are at an event save room for lots of delicious desserts. I usually find apps and desserts (and skipping the entree) is the way to go at most events I attend and i know if i'm going to to ravinia green that the desserts will be extra tasty. Cost: I've never seen a proposal, but I'm sure planning an event is pricey, but i have heard it's more reasonable than many other local venues. The dining room is bright with a ton of windows. Lastly we visited the gift shop. Wow! It is spacious and beautiful. They have so many pretty things.
