When I called I said I was a new client and needed a "really good" haircut with lots of layering, bangs, I have thick hair, the whole works. The original date I asked for was full and a different date was offered, I said yes, excited because I've wanted to try out this salon for a long time based on reviews/photos. When I went in, it was quiet - just 1 other person getting their hair done. After being seated my stylist suddenly seemed flustered by the time (we had a little over an hour before the place closed, which I hadn't realized before) and said she couldn't style my hair. To her credit she asked if I wanted a shampoo but I felt rushed and said we could skip it. I explained what I really wanted (a short wolf cut) but my only reservation was it was before a wedding, and she agreed it could look awkward. In truth I brought it up to gauge her reaction because I didn't want someone who wasn't enthused about it to make such a drastic change to my hair. No problem, had a safer backup ready to go, still with lots of edgy layers and the V-cut I love. Talked it out and showed a reference pic from all angles of this haircut. What I received was nothing close. My hair was cut bluntly straight across, my layers almost blend into the longest ends of my hair, and my face framing pieces are completely uneven. She did a good job on my bangs, though at the time, they were flying straight off my face. I'm talking almost 90 degrees. I was trying not to panic and reassure her at the same time so she didn't feel bad that I looked ridiculous, saying my hair just needed to figure it out and would settle. I walked out of the salon with one hand literally covering my forehead holding down my bangs trying not to cry and thankfully had a beanie in the car to throw over my head. I've gotten bad cuts before but never walked out looking wild like that. I will say - that experience has opened me up to try cutting my own hair at home, so I bought some shears and am looking forward to experimenting.

When I posted a negative review about this place on another site, the owner, instead of trying to improve service, posted a response saying the negative review was harassment. All the ladies in the bridal party used them for hair, and most used them for make-up as well. Our experience was... okay. The makeup was absolutely beautiful. No faults there whatsoever. Our earliest appointment started at 8AM for a 6PM wedding and the makeup held on all day with no flaws. The primary makeup artist they had that day was very nice. The hair though... that was another story and the list of little things that went wrong is long. My sister had picked out a relatively easy low bun/up-do sort of situation for everyone. Everyone's came out very different. Mine in particular was SO different (everyone else's was twisted up and parted on the side, mine was just pulled straight back with no detail in the front) that my mother ended up pulling the entire thing out and redoing it when we got home. My hair was the longest and thickest of the party, but the least amount of time was spent on my hair... probably 20 minutes or so. They also burned my ear with the curling iron and I had to say "OW" a good 3/4 times before she heard me and took it off. They have a sign up saying gratuity will be added for charges over $100... they added automatic gratuity to my bun for a total of $90. One of my sister's came in with damp hair and had to go home to dry it. She had figured since they do hair they would have a blow dryer on site, but they don't apparently? Another girl's hair completely fell out around noon and she needed to go to another salon entirely to get it put back up. When my mom showed the hairstyle she wanted, the hairdresser told her it was more complicated than my sister's (the bride) and she wouldn't do it. They ended up doing something completely different on her entirely (though it was very pretty... just not even close to what she wanted). My 4-year-old niece came in to have her floral crown put in. They curled her hair (a short bob) and pulled up two pieces from the sides into pins, pinned on the crown... maybe 10 minutes and it was $60. When the brides MIL canceled her makeup appointment for later in the afternoon (one she had called to make herself), they tried to get the bride to pay for it without warning or any written policy available. Overall, not the best experience. The prices were high. The service had ups, but mostly downs. They didn't offer water or anything like that to anyone. I guess I just expect more out of a place that charges what they charge. I received much better service and better prices at The Green Tangerine in Canton for my own wedding. I would not use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone. Update: Since leaving this review, the owner of the shop attacked me on her Facebook page in response. She told me to "get a life" and that I "shouldn't be allowed to write this" and that she "knew she was being rude and didn't care" among other things. She blamed the bride, her mother, and the rest of the party and took 0 responsibility calling this review slander. She also went as far as to block anyone she could find related to the wedding so that they could not leave any more reviews on Facebook or contact her in any way. I have filed a chargeback with my credit card company as I cannot request a refund due to being blocked. Good luck to this company...
