The positive reviews listed are years ago and it is poorly rated by trip advisor. The location is…read morebeautiful but otherwise it does not live up to the suggestion that it is different from the touristy harbor fish places. The fish was flavorless at best or tasted of the sea, meaning very fishy(which admittedly may be a flavor that is welcomed more in the Mediterranean). They are catering to throngs of tourists and it may not be important to them if the restaurant is having a bad moment.

Soupe de Poisson is my thing. I have enjoyed variations from Toulon to Biarritz, and cooked it…read moremyself. So I wanted to splurge on something really good. I was disappointed in the food and disappointed in the bill. The "famous" bouillabaisse was somewhat below average - slightly heavy and with almost a cinnamon flavor - but lacking salt, fennel, or saffron that often give more complexity. There was nothing exciting about the soup base or the chunks of fish and potato. Portion size was medium - not large. And yet we did not finish our bowls. Fish soup everywhere else in France is 15-25eu, and usually better tasting, albeit without the potato and fish chunks. This is 55 Eu per person. Which is astronomical - especially for this quality of taste. Ordered San Pelligrino sparkling water. They delivered an unsealed bottle with their restaurant name. No idea of actual contents. Arrived 7:58 for 8 pm reservation and place was 20% occupied. We got served about 8:50 pm

This is the best restaurant in Cassis…read more There I said it. Not only will you find the best vegan and vegetarian meals here, you will find some of the best seafood in all of Provence!* During our four nights in Cassis, we ate dinner here four times. It was that good. First off, the menu is humongous, the wine list is endless, and the hosts are the best. The environment is great too as each one of the different areas gives you a different experience. Inside you'll have the AC, but lack of people watching, on the right side you'll be in a more secluded spot in a more narrow street. On the other side, you'll have plenty of people to watch, and cats to pet as they roam in front of their owners house. Anyway, the food was a blast. Having authentic mediterranean/lebanese food was fantastic. The hummus was beyond delicious. If my wife would let me, I would have licked the bowl clean. They also had home made baklava, which was succulent. The wines were mostly from the Cassis region, and paired well with my vegan meal and my wife's pascatarian dishes. On top of it, they had fruit rums (four kinds!!) that the hosts would give out during the desert. Bottomless and delicious, these drinks sealed the night with the aforementioned baklava. I wish every city in Provence had as amazing food as D'une Rive a l'autre had! *A claim by my wife. I cannot confirm this statement with my own taste buds.

The food was so amazing and so refined! The waitress was so nice and attentive (not always the case in France!) We were just visiting Cassis--but, if I lived there-I would definitely be a regular there!
