Genuinely worth the hype…read more Tucked into a little recess of the steps a stones throw from the bridge, this dinky place sits dotted with warm white fairy lights. Head down the little ginnel to the left, and enter next to the kitchen entrance, and you know from the smell you're in for a good evening. I was bought here for a treat on my Queenie Birthday (an extra excuse for a nice dinner, everyone should do it...) deposits paid in advance, as is the Covid way, and we were sat in the front little almost living room half of the establishment. Malbec and amuse bouches, starters that were excellent, then on to pressed belly pork, and seabass for mains. Flipping Nora! Honestly, the best belly pork I have ever had- and I seem to be on a trend of ordering the stuff currently- especially if there is no game on the menu. It was really well balanced, fall apart in your mouth, and the perfect crackling. We then stuffed in a pudding that we totally didn't need, but i didn't regret it. Bonus points for; 1. Anyone who brings me warm bread in a teeny basket is on to an immediate winner. 2. They grow loads of the ingredients themselves, and the owners are fully and properly involved. 3. Some random dude and his poor date came as walk ins- he didn't even bother to take off his mucky work hi-vis, ordered food before his date was ready, inhaled it, and asked for the bill before she had touched a third of hers- and the staff handled his weird attitude and rudeness so calmly, and professionally. Weirdest dining experience I have had in a while! Will definitely be coming again

We stopped here to get a tea and coffee around 4pm. I was feeling a bit peckish so I tried to order…read morea salad, but darn it!, they stopped serving food at 3:30!! I felt sad, but I completely understood. So Plan B was deciding on what scone to order. Not more than a few seconds later the manager says, "We still have soup, I can get you some if you want!" YAY!!! So, I was able to get some home made wheat bread and fresh veggie soup. Excellent service right off the get-go, thank you! But alas, we were sans money! This place is CASH or CHEQUE only, no credit cards! Luckily, there is an ATM close by. After those two speed bumps it was good to go. Lewis ordered a fruit sundae, which had fresh cream and delicious fruit (mainly strawberries). I ordered a hot orange chocolate with orange zest sprinkled on top, and, complete with mini marsh mellows! Lunch itself cost about £10, maybe a little under. The prices were reasonable, the service excellent, and the food/drinks fantastic! My only complaint (if you can call it that) was lack of outside seating as the day was absolutely GORGEOUS. But we made due close to the windows. They also had an internet cafe section, plenty of indoor seating, and a cute little area lounge section to sit and read. Great place check out.

Truffles is an attractive looking cafe situated alongside the River Severn in Iron Bridge…read more We entered expecting the usual home-cooked quality and excellent service you normally receive in village cafes and restaurants. We had to move tables 3 times as everywhere we sat was in a very cold draught as all the doors were open. We ordered hot drinks and breakfast. It was a ten minute wait for our tea and coffee then 40 minutes for our breakfasts. I even had to chase them to hurry them along and no apology was offered. When the breakfasts arrived you could tell the sausages were the cheap 'Richmond' variety rather than locally sourced as we would have expected. Overall the food was disappointingly average and the service inexplicably slow.
