In a tourist pocket, you're lucky if you can find a place that has truly good food. The cuisine at Chez Maw, was outstanding! Not really British. Perhaps New Brit. Exceptional presentation and well prepared meals.
For starters, we had the arancini. The aioli under it was a bit overdone, but the arancini themselves were delicious. We had the chicken wrapped in pancetta, the sea bass, and a wonderful stewed lamb served with a mint yogurt, and a cold couscous medley.
The afters menu featured a few nice treats, including a peach creme brûlée and a sticky toffee pudding.
They have a good bar, like most in England, not big on craft cocktails, but serviceable enough on everything else.
Service was first rate. You can book it on OpenTable.
