A friend and I stopped by this rustic charming little restaurant in the afternoon to make a reservation, and the proprietor suggested what time we should come back later. When we did, there was absolutely nobody else left in the restaurant - we had it to ourselves, as well as the owner's undivided attention. He was very attentive and friendly and chatty, and gave this tourist some ides of things to do (and not to do!) in the region. He held forth on rosé ("Nobody drank rosé 15 years ago, we always drank white Cassis") and local towns and attractions with abandon and cool Provençal sass. He even pulled out his iPhone to find a certain word or picture he was looking for to accompany his stories. He calmly monitored the food coming out of the kitchen, serving everything himself, and made recommendations both for food and wine. I had a delicious soupe au pistou, and a traditional daube de boeuf with a brooding red Côtes-de-Provence. I would definitely recommend Chez Feraud to my friends, especially at night, when the atmosphere is warm and inviting. read more
