I had a very pleasant visit in Chez Bob (located right next to the Belsize Park tube station). When you walk into the restaurant you are immidiately transported from the rainy and cold streets of London to the warm embrace of what feels like a combination of a French and British bistro. The restaurant is nice and spacious with a pretty decor. The service was very attentive, polite, friendly and professional. I was told the specials, which I always like, but I went for a kale and feta salad with Salmon and roasted walnuts - a delicious dish indeed! I wanted to treat myself this time and for dessert I went for the decadent but classic Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was actually one of the best I ever had - not to mention it was absolutely huge! Next time I'm around Belsize Park, I'll definitely go here again!

We had brunch here the day we arrived in London. Fantastic eggs Benedict and an array of other brunch items.

Great little eatery, the steak frites washed down with a nice Merlot is exceptional value.

I had the frites and chips deal before seven, it was tough, I could only leave it. Only one pecan in the desert. Sure aint goin back.

    Review Highlights - Chez Bob

I don't really rate any of the other "chez"s on Haverstock Hill (Chez Girard, Chez Nous), so was a little hesitant to try the newest addition.

Had the best butternut squash soup I've ever tasted and the porcini stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes was to die for! Love the seating where friends can less formally gather by the fireplace. I hear Harry Styles and Tina Fey are regulars.. makes sense they would seek out a off the beaten path spot that is warm and cozy with delicious food where they can blend into a mostly local crowd. Wish it weren't so far from me I would live in that pub!

It is a place where you can truly relax and spend a nice Sunday without being bothered by the irksome realities of of the tidal wave of humanity that is London life. We came here last Sunday, a day of fag having had a walk on the Heath for Sunday lunch (I can't think of much that is more London than that!) where we each had some beautiful roasts. I had the Pork Shoulder and my partner had the roast beef sirloin. Both were beautiful with a nice crisp Yorkshire pudding and glazed honey vegetables. I would suggest that the Pork was better. It was soft tender and tasty to the point that you didn't even need a knife as the succulent flavours wafted out while clawing away at it. Lovely service, lovely place and I wish it it was my local!
