Outstanding care and attention to detail! I am so grateful to the wonderful vet tech who helped us today. My senior dog has severe food allergies, and when I mentioned his sensitivity to corn, she didn't just nod and move on--she actually took the time to go into the back and double-check the ingredients of the prescribed antibiotic pills. Because she caught a corn binder in the tablets, she was able to pivot his treatment to a safe injection instead. Her willingness to truly listen and double-check saved my dog from a massive allergic flare-up. Thank you for your incredible compassion and thoroughness! read more

The folks here saved my cat's life! My mom recommended Cheyenne Pet Clicic after taking her cats for shots, teeth removals, etc. Even though I live in Fort Collins, where I'm sure there are a lot of great clinics too, I come here because I have been very impressed with how the clinic runs like a well oiled machine. They see a lot of clients, yet you don't usually have to wait very long to make an appointment or to be seen. All the receptionists, vet techs, and vets I've dealt with here have been super. I took my cat, Tar, for routine shots, then later teeth removal and cleaning. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Calhoon and Ashley took the time to answer any questions I had about the procedures. They even gave me before and after photos of his rotten teeth, X-rays, and let me have the tiny teeth they removed. Recently I noticed Tar was hiding, extremely lethargic, eating less, etc. He was in good spirits but I was concerned because he is FIV (Feline Immune deficiency Virus) positive, which means he can get really sick fast. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist asked very specific questions to assess how sick he was, the nature of his illness, and she made the soonest available appointment. Within 5 minutes she called me back to let me know there was just a cancellation the day before and they could get him in sooner. I wish I could remember this receptionist's name so I could tell her that she saved his life. When I brought Tar in, Dr. Calhoon didn't immediately run a bunch of random tests, he again asked me very specific questions about his behavior, appetite, bowel movements, etc. He quickly ruled out unnecessary stuff like X-rays and did a saline test and blood smear. Within 10 minutes into the appointment and with a relatively benign, inexpensive test he had figured out he had immune mediated thrombocytopenia and anemia (his immune system was attacking his platelets and red blood cells), probably idiopathic but perhaps from FIV. Because the receptionist had thought to call me back immediately and fit me in for this appointment, and Dr. Calhoon was able to figure out what was going on with a simple saline blood solution, we we able to start treatment immediately with immune suppressants. I brought him back a few times after that to get blood tests and I cannot stress enough how close he was to going over the rainbow bridge. Every day mattered. I had to have some hard conversations about when would be the time to consider either blood transfusion or euthanasia. Dr. Calhoon and all the folks here were incredibly kind and patient in answering everything. It was touch and go for a minute there but Tar seems to be improving and living his best, most spoiled life. Tar goes with me everywhere. I moved across country and started my life over with this critter. He sleeps in my lap for car rides, sits in a chair at the dinner table to watch us eat, curls up next to me wherever I am, and won't even so much as let me go the bathroom without him. Even if the folks at Cheyenne Pet Clinic have only bought me a few more high quality of life months, I am immensely grateful I don't have to say goodbye to my little shadow yet and get to spoil him rotten. read more

Price gouging on medication, won't take GoodRX to help and you have to go online to access different prescription rates. But here's the kicker, if you don't check before the charges EACH MONTH, they will NOT notify you. My cats medication has gone from $70 to $130 in the span of a year and a half. Everytime I go In they can't even tell me what tests I'm supposed to have done, but they will hold my pets medication hostage until I do. So I go in, get close to ZERO information on my animals condition or care, they ask ME what tests I'm in for (they never even told me before I came in, so it's guess work) and then I get hit with extra charges and sub par care. The reviews don't lie, these folks are here to take your money ever since Church left and I am actively looking for more passionate and reliable care elsewhere. I can't afford to spend $130 on monthly medication on top of surprise office visits that can range anywhere between $50-$200. I love my animal more than anything in this world, I really do. Diabetes is a lifelong thing once they are on medication. At the absolute bare minimum, educate, show passion and communicate (not when it's just convenient for you financially). Thankfully, her medication is working and her diabetes has been managed. But the issue with this clinic is that they seriously could not care less until it comes to collect the payment. read more

they take care of my cats really well and i am a picky who cares for them very friendly staff so

this place is not even worth a single star review. i am heated and heartbroken. we took our rescue cat here from day one and they handled her care well up until she suddenly took a turn for the worst one day. we rushed her to Cheyenne Pet Clinic as they were her primary vet. They had us put her on a hydrolyzed diet due to her food sensitivities which worked wonders for her up until this point. when we had rushed her in for emergency services (life or death situation), they never gave her the correct food during her entire 2 night stay there. when we visited her on the second day they literally had a giant bowl of wet raw cat food in her cage with her which she has never had any interest in. they were the ones who SOLD us the hydrolyzed food to begin with so we KNOW they have it in stock or at least must know about it in her records. and even if they didn't, we TOLD them when we dropped her off for emergency services to only feed her that hydrolyzed food and they didn't!! and then, as if to add insult to injury; these people WOULD NOT LET US SEE OUR BABY UNTIL WE SIGNED THE PAPERS AGREEING TO PAY THE $1400 REQUIRED FOR EMERGENCY CARE. they were BEYOND neglectful with our babygirl. even cruel i would say. neglecting to give her the food that WE EVEN PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM THEM for her entire 2 night stay there. oh and the cherry on top? after we signed the payment contract, they expected us to bring her back the next day to have her euthanized after we asked to take her home. Cheyenne Pet Clinic is not what it seems. these people are cold and HEARTLESS. needless to say we took our baby to TWO other emergency vets in ft. collins who did FAR MORE THOROUGH evaluations and walked us through calling poison control to cover all our bases. (cheyenne pet clinic literally never even asked about that). and we had our babygirl euthanized at the third emergency vet we rushed her to where the owner of the rescue we adopted her from paid for the entire visit for us. the vet that euthanized her literally cried with us through the process. every other vet we talked to throughout all of this was ASTONISHED by the audacity of Cheyenne Pet Clinic. I will never EVER recommend this place to any pet owner. Cheyenne Pet Clinic I hope you are ashamed of yourselves. May the shame you feel keep you up at night after the way you treated my poor baby. She deserved so much more than the heaping pile of untouched wet food you left for her when you knew better. WE deserved better than the $1400 bill you charged us for NEGLECTING her. Absolutely abhorrent. read more

My 3 year old basset hound needed his teeth cleaned. After checking the prices around the Denver metro area (where I live) I decided to look in Wyoming. In Denver I was quoted $800 for teeth cleaning $200 for blood!! Wyoming was a fraction of the cost and did an amazing job. The whole office was super friendly and you could see that they care deeply for pets. I know I'll be driving an hour and a half to the friendly and caring people at Cheyenne Pet Clinic! read more

Untrustworthy, dishonest, greedy I took my cat into Cheyenne Pet Clinic on Jan. 22. Due her age Dr. X wanted to do a Senior Blood Panel and told me it would be about $250. I said go ahead and do it. I came back on the 29th and was told my cat is diabetic. Dr. X suggested a medicine called Bexacat that she would take once a day. Dr. X told me the medicine would be about $140 a month. I said let's try that. Dr. X also told me with this new medicine my cat would need to come in four more times to have her blood checked to make sure she was responding well to the medicine, and that each visit would cost about $45. I said okay, since I could afford $45. I brought my cat in on Feb. 2nd and her blood test showed she was reacting well to the medicine. This cost $45. The tech said for the next appointment Dr. X wanted to do a glucose curve and my cat would need to stay for the day. Nothing was said about this being different from the other visits that Dr. X wanted done. I made an appointment and dropped her off on Feb. 13th. When I came to pick her up that afternoon I was told this was not $45, but $270. Of course I had to pay before I could get my cat. I guess Dr. Church was the person who made them stay honest. But now that he has retired they are free to use the sleaziest business practices they can come up with. Right now I have to question whether a "senior blood panel" was even done or if they just charged me for it. read more

We've been with Cheyenne Pet clinic for a number of years now. The staff is outstanding, doesn't matter if it's the welcoming committee in the front or the techs or the Vet's. They all are professional and love what they do. When I come in and they know me and my dogs by name, that tells you everything!!!! Keep up the great work CPC read more

We have been customers of The Cheyenne Pet Clinic for 6 years since we moved here. Fortunately, our dogs have been healthy over the years, and we haven't needed anything serious. For the most part, I was happy with The Cheyenne Pet Clinic. However, we recently had a deeply concerning experience at The Cheyenne Pet Clinic, which led me to write this review. Our dog Khaleesi was a very loving and extremely smart companion, giving the best hugs and the wettest kisses. She was my best friend. Khaleesi had fallen ill, showing symptoms of imbalance and altered gait. Concerned, my wife Ashlee took her to The Cheyenne Pet Clinic, which happened to have a substitute vet that day. The blood tests revealed dangerously high white blood cell count and extremely low platelets, indicating a potential autoimmune disorder or tick-borne disease. Due to her condition, further blood tests were postponed until that coming Friday, where they were to do more bloodwork. Khaleesi was prescribed antibiotics, steroids, and a nausea shot, which ran us about $500 including the blood work. Unfortunately, Khaleesi's condition deteriorated rapidly at home. She couldn't keep the pills down, and her vomiting persisted. Seeking guidance, I reached out to a trusted vet friend, who expressed immediate concern over the blood work results. She strongly advised hospitalization for Khaleesi and criticized The Cheyenne Pet Clinic's decision to send her home after seeing these results. The next morning, I took Khaleesi back to Cheyenne Pet Clinic. During this visit, I saw our regular vet, Dr. Church. Hoping for a better outcome, I explained Khaleesi's inability to keep food down (other than a bit of egg she took her pills with) and the concerns raised by other veterinarians about her blood work. However, Dr. Church appeared unconcerned and recommended rest and the continuation of the prescribed medication. Despite my major reservations, I followed his advice and took our precious sick girl home, again. As the night progressed, Khaleesi's condition worsened even more. She became severely uncoordinated, which prompted me to research the side effects of the nausea shots. Disoriented and uncoordinated walking were listed among the side effects. This made me unsure if her decline was due to the medication or her worsening illness. The next morning we took Khaleesi to a hospital in Ft Collins. The medical professionals were amazing and took Khaleesi's condition very seriously. Khaleesi's health deteriorated rapidly. She displayed ataxia, anorexia, thrombocytopenia, hyponatremia, severe lactic acidosis, and azotemia. They initiated intravenous fluids and started running various tests to pinpoint the issue. However, during her stay, Khaleesi exhibited seizure-like behavior and soon after went into respiratory and cardiac arrest. The hospital staff performed CPR for over 15 minutes and tried everything they could to revive her. Despite their efforts, Khaleesi could not be saved. The loss of Khaleesi was devastating for us. The precious memories of our sweet friend are overshadowed by the pain of losing her. I write this review not just as a catharsis, but as a cautionary tale. When it comes to our pets' health, we should always seek a second opinion if there's any doubt, and trust our instincts. Their lives are too precious, and their well-being should be in the hands of those who will take every measure to ensure they receive the best care. In retrospect, I believe that The Cheyenne Pet Clinic failed to provide the necessary urgency and care that Khaleesi needed in her critical condition. The decision to send her home without proper stabilization or hospitalization may have contributed to her untimely passing. I wish I had followed the advice of my veterinarian friend sooner and sought immediate help elsewhere. I understand that veterinary medicine, like human medicine, is not always clear cut and sometimes even the best efforts can still result in heartbreak. However, I feel that in Khaleesi's case, the seriousness of her condition was not recognized, and the clinic did not exercise due diligence. If there's anything that I would like you to take away from our heart-rending journey, it's the importance of advocating for the health of your furry family members. Don't hesitate to ask for a second opinion and trust your instincts if something feels off. Your pets rely on you to be their voice, and it's our responsibility to ensure that they receive the best care possible. As for The Cheyenne Pet Clinic, I urge them to recognize the immense trust that pet owners place in them. I hope they can learn from Khaleesi's case to be more vigilant, proactive, and compassionate in the treatment of the beloved pets entrusted to their care. In the loving memory of Khaleesi, our best friend and treasured family member, may you rest in peace. You brought immeasurable joy and love into our lives, and we will always carry you in our hearts. read more

I would give 0 stars if it would let me! I have been a faithful patron of Cheyenne Pet Clinic for 18 years even though they are extremely overpriced for their services. Now that Dr. Church has retired they have seriously gone downhill. The last straw is when they can't even read the chart and give a tattoo after spay when we specifically said no tattoo. I asked for our records today and it says we were irrational for being upset and that they offered to remove it. Definitely not the case as the tattoo ink was glued in and we were told we could pick off the glue ourselves and try to remove the tattoo ourselves. This is right next to a new spay incision that hasn't healed! We are not going to put our dog through more trauma trying to pick at an incision filled with ink that is right next to her spay incision! Don't waste your time or money! They charge almost double of what other places do just for vaccinations. I will be finding a new vet clinic. read more

Is it possible to have less than 1 star? Because Cheyenne Pet Clinic definitely deserves it. My family has used this veterinary practice for years...until last week. My 8 month old boxer had been having major GI issues. I called and was told to put him on the bland diet. That seemed like a good option, due to him never having issues before. His GI issues continued. I called on a Tuesday morning to see if I could get my pup in immediately because the bland diet was not working, and he had lost a considerable amount of weight in a short period of time. I was told he could not be seen until Friday at the earliest. I was confused, but chose to make the appointment. Later that afternoon, my buddy took a turn for the worst. He was lethargic and I could not get him to eat or drink anything...let alone pick his head up off of the floor. I called again asking to be seen sooner and was met with ridiculously rude front desk staff. I was told it still wasn't an issue, but they would get a note back to the vet to call me. I was in a panic at this point and contacted another veterinary practice in town (Cottonwood), they told me to bring him in immediately. Long story short, my little guy has a parasite that Cheyenne Pet Clinic could have diagnosed 3 weeks prior had I not been brushed off. Not to mention their rude staff (Evan and Sage, I'm looking at you), and the unprofessional veterinarian that finally called me back 5 hours after I had my pup seen at another clinic. The only saving grace for this practice may be the office manager, Brooke, as she was very apologetic. A word to the wise for anyone seeking veterinary care in Cheyenne: if you value the health and safety of your pet, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I have never felt a gut punch like the one I experienced less than an hour ago when I went into the clinic to collect my beloved kitty's "cremains" (cremated remains). He and I used the clinic as his primary care provider, and for 3+ years since we moved here, I sang the praises of the staff...how caring and compassionate they were. Even on his last day when he had to be euthanized, I told so many people about the compassion I was shown. That ended today. When I arrived at the counter and was asked how I could be helped, I gave my name and said that I was there to collect my kitty's cremains. The staff member looked for my information on the computer, and while I was waiting, I couldn't help but notice the reaction/expressions of two of the female staff sitting at the left side of the counter. The staff member closest to me didn't quite turn far enough from me when she did an eye raise/eye roll, and I might even have seen a snicker or some other kind of very unprofessional facial expression from the other staff member sitting next to her. Badly, badly played, ladies. You need to work on your poker faces, and you certainly should not practice perfecting your poker faces at the expense of one of your clients. You've caused me to seriously reconsider the level of professionalism, care, and compassion really exists at the Cheyenne Pet Clinic, and when I am ready to rescue another feline that needs a good home, I will seek veterinarian care elsewhere. Again, badly, badly played. read more

Had to make an appointment for my dog while passing through Cheyenne on our way to Oregon by car. Doggers developed a bilateral eye infection in our hotel room the night before and was very sad and uncomfortable. We called Cheyenne Pet Clinic from North Platte, Nebraska, and told them our situation. They set us an appointment for 3pm the same afternoon. We arrived two hours early from North Platte, and they worked us right in. Our doctor, Dr. Kelcie Glick, was fantastic. She is gentle and soft spoken, and obviously really cares about her patients. She sat down on the floor of the exam room with myself, and Roccodog, and made friends with Rocco right away. He really liked her. Dr. Glick was able to make a quick diagnosis without need for excessive tests or lots of extra costs. I appreciated that she kept things simple and straight forward while treating the problem properly and thoroughly. The office visit was a reasonable price, and the medication was not terribly over priced, either. All and all this was a very positive experience. We were in and out in 30 minutes with medicine in hand, and a much happier dog in our car! read more

I am so outraged how Me and my poor poor cat were treated at my recent visit to the clinic . Awful. Went it for an emergency for our boy. He got a hold of a Razer, took him in and waited over 1.5 hours. There were no other patients waiting to be seen and no other pets in the rooms. Employees were sitting around talking. Once we were actually see we then got charged after hours rates even though we were there well before closing! Not to mention they didn't fix the issue so we had to go in multiple times after that evening. Which was not cheap! Had another scare with our boy and thought we should try them again. Called them to see if we should go in right away or if we could get by without any issues. All they said was "well, you aren't patient of ours (even after being seen there before) we can't help you." And that was it. Didn't care about the wellbeing of our boy. Took our business to Tri State Veterinary Clinic, and they were very, very helpful. read more

These folks at the Cheyenne Pet Clinic are the greatest ! I have taken 2 dogs there over the past 10 years and taking my new pup in very soon for a checkup. They are up front, honest, and very reasonable in their rates. It is obvious everyone there is an animal lover and dedicated to their profession. Yet at the same time they were very kind when I needed to put my dog down recently. I have been to Vets who view you as their next boat payment and want to string you along or talk you into expensive (and hopeless) treatments. Cheyenne Pet Clinic is not like that at all. My husband and I used Cheyenne Pet Clinic for there emergency services. Our cat was mauled by a pitbull. I had never used Cheyenne Pet Clinic before, they were actually recommended to us. The staff and doctors were very friendly and knowledgable. They lose two stars with us for a couple reasons..one the vet clinic was swamped every time we were there. They have a high volume of people who go there and I found there was no sense of urgency to see our cat who had just been mauled. My husband sat in a room and waited and waited until finally somebody came in. There was a lot of chit chat going on in the back and I ended up over hearing from one of the doctors that he was saving our room for last. Disappointing to hear that since our cat had just been mauled and need care right away. Overall, I would not take my pets here..the place is too busy and there isn't a sense of urgency. read more

My one year old dog was just prescribed an anti-inflammatory and pain-killer Rimadyl by Dr. Marcy at Cheyenne Pet Clinic for his hip dysplasia. This was given to me with no additional information other than how often to give it to him. After watching him pee nothing but blood just a moment ago I went to look up side effects of Rimadyl and found that it is an EXTREMELY risky drug. This drug has even caused death in some dogs! I would imagine that if a responsible veterinarian is handing out prescription drugs, they would discuss the risks involved. Although its a nice clean clinic, it is very obvious to me that they aren't the most knowledgeable clinic in Cheyenne. Also, Pfizer, the company that makes Rimadyl, has put out a message to all vets saying that if they are going to prescribe Rimadyl, there needs to be blood work done beforehand so they can tell if Rimadyl is the right choice for your dog. Did they do this? No. I'm very upset at their negligence at Cheyenne Pet Clinic. Please take your pup elsewhere read more

When we first started with Cheyenne Pet Clinic 10 years ago, we were beyond impressed. We were able to make appointments right away if needed, and never sat long in the waiting room. We found all the vets to be caring and more importantly, very knowledgeable in their practice. I think this has become both a blessing and curse for Cheyenne Pet Clinic, as unfortunately, their popularity has made them so busy that it is affecting the quality of care their customers receive. Recently, we had a cat that was very sick. In the past, if your animal needed an emergency appt. they would get you in, no problem. Now, they will, but then you have to pay an urgent fee of $79. This is an unfortunate example of what they now must resort to because they have too many patients. When I called yesterday because I had a very sick dog, I know I would need to pay the urgent fee, which I was willing to fork over as I knew he would get great care. Unfortunately, the woman on the phone really did not care that my dog was very ill and informed me that they had no more appts. that day and that I would have to call back the next morning to see if they could even squeeze him in. That is not acceptable. If my dog is sick, I need to know he will be seen in the next 24 hours. Asking me to call back in the morning to see if I will even get an appt. does nothing to ease my worry. Instead, I called another very reputable vet clinic in town, who saw him that afternoon, with no extra fee and he was so sick that he needed to be admitted. Cheyenne Pet Clinic used to be a 5 star vet clinic, but now, due to their new business model changes that focuses on getting more patients and more $$$, they are a 3 star clinic, which is sad. Cheyenne Pet Clinic, you can do better. Stop accepting new patients and go back to what you know. Good customer service where animals come first. read more
