The folks here saved my cat's life!…read more My mom recommended Cheyenne Pet Clicic after taking her cats for shots, teeth removals, etc. Even though I live in Fort Collins, where I'm sure there are a lot of great clinics too, I come here because I have been very impressed with how the clinic runs like a well oiled machine. They see a lot of clients, yet you don't usually have to wait very long to make an appointment or to be seen. All the receptionists, vet techs, and vets I've dealt with here have been super. I took my cat, Tar, for routine shots, then later teeth removal and cleaning. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Calhoon and Ashley took the time to answer any questions I had about the procedures. They even gave me before and after photos of his rotten teeth, X-rays, and let me have the tiny teeth they removed. Recently I noticed Tar was hiding, extremely lethargic, eating less, etc. He was in good spirits but I was concerned because he is FIV (Feline Immune deficiency Virus) positive, which means he can get really sick fast. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist asked very specific questions to assess how sick he was, the nature of his illness, and she made the soonest available appointment. Within 5 minutes she called me back to let me know there was just a cancellation the day before and they could get him in sooner. I wish I could remember this receptionist's name so I could tell her that she saved his life. When I brought Tar in, Dr. Calhoon didn't immediately run a bunch of random tests, he again asked me very specific questions about his behavior, appetite, bowel movements, etc. He quickly ruled out unnecessary stuff like X-rays and did a saline test and blood smear. Within 10 minutes into the appointment and with a relatively benign, inexpensive test he had figured out he had immune mediated thrombocytopenia and anemia (his immune system was attacking his platelets and red blood cells), probably idiopathic but perhaps from FIV. Because the receptionist had thought to call me back immediately and fit me in for this appointment, and Dr. Calhoon was able to figure out what was going on with a simple saline blood solution, we we able to start treatment immediately with immune suppressants. I brought him back a few times after that to get blood tests and I cannot stress enough how close he was to going over the rainbow bridge. Every day mattered. I had to have some hard conversations about when would be the time to consider either blood transfusion or euthanasia. Dr. Calhoon and all the folks here were incredibly kind and patient in answering everything. It was touch and go for a minute there but Tar seems to be improving and living his best, most spoiled life. Tar goes with me everywhere. I moved across country and started my life over with this critter. He sleeps in my lap for car rides, sits in a chair at the dinner table to watch us eat, curls up next to me wherever I am, and won't even so much as let me go the bathroom without him. Even if the folks at Cheyenne Pet Clinic have only bought me a few more high quality of life months, I am immensely grateful I don't have to say goodbye to my little shadow yet and get to spoil him rotten.

But here's the kicker, if you don't check before the charges EACH MONTH, they will NOT notify you. My cats medication has gone from $70 to $130 in the span of a year and a half. Everytime I go In they can't even tell me what tests I'm supposed to have done, but they will hold my pets medication hostage until I do. So I go in, get close to ZERO information on my animals condition or care, they ask ME what tests I'm in for (they never even told me before I came in, so it's guess work) and then I get hit with extra charges and sub par care. The reviews don't lie, these folks are here to take your money ever since Church left and I am actively looking for more passionate and reliable care elsewhere. I can't afford to spend $130 on monthly medication on top of surprise office visits that can range anywhere between $50-$200. I love my animal more than anything in this world, I really do. Diabetes is a lifelong thing once they are on medication. At the absolute bare minimum, educate, show passion and communicate (not when it's just convenient for you financially). Thankfully, her medication is working and her diabetes has been managed. But the issue with this clinic is that they seriously could not care less until it comes to collect the payment.

Since I'm in town for two weeks and my vets back home. I called calling seven different vets. No one has anything available today. I called avenues pet clinic. A young lady named Grace answered the phone was very professional and helpful. She was my amazing Grace lol They were able to get me an appointment within the hour. I showed up to the office. The staff was very professional and the vet tech named Bree. Did examination on blaze and they took her in the back room. And then Bree and Dr. Recker came out and explained the procedure they were going to do for her ear. And asked if I had any concerns or questions. The entire staff went above and beyond from what I'm normally used to in a vets office. I've never seen a vet office that offers coffee and snacks. This place is a top quality and a Professional business. I would recommend to anyone.

My cat had just been hit by a car, and I rushed him here hoping for immediate help since it was the closest to my home. Instead, I was turned away--even though there was a vet present. I was panicked, scared, and desperate for someone to help my pet, and instead I felt dismissed. In that moment, compassion mattered just as much as medical care, and neither was offered. I hope no one else has to go through what I did here. When your pet is suffering, you need a team that will step up--not send you away. Honestly shame on Cheyenne in general for no emergency pet services. It was 5:30 on a Thursday and to have to drive my suffering cat to Fort Collins was torture for both him and me. But mostly shame on the vet who was there who lacked the ability to stay five minutes longer to help a suffering animal.

I called later begging them to see her and was told to wait til they opened. I paid ER fees and was willing to pay them again to save my dog as she was in agony. As her Momma, I knew she was sick and that should have been a reasonable assumption of the vet too. My dog died because a vet didn't care enough. I'll never take another animal there.

Beware! I recently worked as Broadmoor's assistant manager. As someone who is extremely passionate…read moreabout animals, I felt the need to leave a review, so that others can make a fair, accurate, and educated decision before boarding their pet at Broadmoor. First and foremost, there is no such thing as play time with your animal and staff. Dogs are locked in a kennel 24/7, often with nothing but a small thin blanket or towel to lay. This privilege is frequently taken away if your dog displays high anxiety. Providing your own blanket or dog bed won't change this, as animal belongings are NEVER given to them. Most dogs soil the contents of their kennel on a nightly basis and instead of cleaning dogs belongings multiple times, all belongings are marked and put in a cubby. They will not tell you this at time of drop off. Their operational schedule is posted below in a picture, but as you can see, Dogs remain in their indoor kennel from 4pm to 8am, a total of 16 hours... and there is no time or opportunity for staff to interact with dogs one on one. There is also no boarding staff on-site between 530pm and 630am. The messes that are made during their isolated 16-hour stint are cleaned up each morning at 8:30am. Nearly every kennel is riddled with urine and poop inside. Few dogs are able to hold it for this long. I brought up my concerns and offered alternative solutions or ideas, but was immediately dismissed. Even with daily cleaning, kennel cough has been going around the facility for the past few months. As a manager, I handled 2-3 weekly customer complaints about their dog coming down with the illness. As for grooming, their best groomer just left, and only one remains. The remaining groomer can barely handle 6 dogs a day and often, these dogs return to be fixed. 2/3's of the upcoming appointments will need to be canceled or rescheduled. I spent hours each week calling owners. Managements fix was to have kennel staff do groom dogs. Speaking of management, Bobby, their manager, hired me for my managerial expertise and extensive administrative background. He's ran boarding ops by for a long time and is the brother to one of the owners. Despite the many recommendations I suggested, Bobby denied all of them. Many were directed to improve comfort to the animals. Bobby rather focus on rediculous tasks that actively jepordized the health and safety of employees. He felt the constant need to micromanage but would complain about being bothered on his days off. Bobby commonly assigned deep cleaning tasks for the weekend. These tasks were difficult because kennels were full and we were understaffed. I found out this has been an ongoing issue. Many could be completed in the middle of the week, when the facility was nearly empty, and staffing was not an issue. It would certainly allow us time to focus on dog interaction. Despite tasks still getting done, Bobby always found reason to complain. It's degrading when you work your butt off all weekend and then wake up to texts, claiming nothing got done. Bobby wants his employees to be "yes men/women". During my last weekend, it was 10-15 degrees out and snowing. We were directed to empty the planters full of frozen soil. Bobby didn't care how and wanted employees outside hacking at frozen soil with shovels. Bobby, as a manager, is completely failing this company. As for the vet side, dogs cannot receive vaccinations in a timely manner. Dogs would be boarding for days without vaccinations. Also, my own pup injured herself. The vet side took a look and said she was fine. I took her to Cheyenne Pet Clinic and within 3 minutes they determined she had a torn cruciate ligament. Attached is proof to support my above statements. Step your game up Broadmoor. Treat the dogs and your employees better!
