This is NOT your typical Chevron, in the best possible way. Not only are they stocked to the brim with tons of food/charcuterie items perfect for hosts and for gift baskets, the interior is also spotless and there is a full sandwich counter! The guys behind the counter were super friendly and chatty. I ended up ordering their tomato and burrata sandwich with pesto (which is walnut free, yay!) and it was truly one of the best sandwiches I ever had. I honestly did not expect much going in (I mean, it's in a gas station!) but I was completely blown away. The sandwiches are HUGE, and loaded with fillings, and the bread is fresh-baked ciabatta. I have paid triple the price I paid here (I think my sandwich was like, $12?) for meals that were not a tenth as good. My partner and my MIL were pleased as well. They are both meat-eaters and can attest that this spot does NOT skimp on the meat the way some sandwich shops do. In all, this is a great spot to come in and pick out some stuff for a party spread, and is a must if you are in Walla Walla for lunch. I will definitely be back. This is a gas station with a few major twists. They have lots of local Walla Walla wines. They also have the absolute best sandwiches in town. Fresh baked bread, my God They are so yummy. I picked up 4 for a wine tour. It's a must. read more

Can you give a gas station 5 stars when all you do is get gas there. This gas station stands out from many of the rest because it actually still has a mechanic on duty and they do repairs here. The gas sold here is usually some of the cheapest in town. The gas station across the street is usually a couple of cents cheaper but this station allows you to use your Safeway gas rewards. This station has been a fixture here for many years and I believe that it has had the same owner for years. This is truly a local garage! read more

So, why go to Tom's Southgate Chevron when the competing gas station across the street always has lower prices? Both are locally owned, and depending on which way you are travelling down 2nd avenue, both are equally convenient. The partnership with Safeway gas rewards could offset the higher price. I've frequently purchased gas here, but after my experience with a cashier in the store, I won't bother to return. I've been going here 99.8% of the time for gas - and occasionally to put air in my tires / pump up my daughter's bicycle, etc. The last time I was there, the cashier woman was both lazy & rude - coming up with excuse after excuse as to why I can no longer get air. Lazy - yes. Rude - without a doubt. Detriment to the owner - absolutely. I vote with my dollar, and I will not be spending any more of my hard-earned cash for this type of behavior. read more

This is no longer a Chevron station and won't accept the Chevron credit card. I like Chevron gas and will now have to go to the Oregon station for gas totally out of my way. read more

I love Tom's Chevron Southgate. They really take great care of my car, have great mechanics and you feel like family when you pull in. You don't go in and ask the store clerk what could be wrong with your car. You talk to Tom, directly and he explains everything very clearly. LOve the work done here. read more
