The sandwiches on the menu all have cute names like "The Point Richmond" and "The New York". That if nice except that- for example... if you want a Hot Pastrami with Swiss, you need to read every ingredient of every sandwich until you find "The Point Richmond". The menu lists it having hot pastrami though it doesn't have Swiss. We ordered that. The Point Richmond pastrami was warm. I was thinking it was just warm rather than hot because of, how you say...oh yeah.. Physics. The relitively smallish amount of meat ratio to cool moist vegetables and room temperature Dutch Crunch (Roll) bread couldn't possibly hold heat for more than the minute it took us to get to the outdoor seating. When I looked at the on-line ordering menu at home later. I read that if I want Pastrami and Swiss, I should have ordered The New York, as it has Pastrami (though not heated) and Swiss. I also found out you can order Extra Meat for $3.49 or Double Meat for $5.49. A first timer here would have no clue that they should order extra meat if they want a hot sandwich. The sandwich was fresh and enjoyable. The cashier and the deli person were friendly. It was nice to visit Pt. Richmond after these few years. I might go back and choose the Build Your Own option. "I'll have a Pastrami and Swiss please. Double meat, double Swiss cheese, with horseradish and sharp mustard on the side if you got em. On a Dutch Crunch roll. Heat that bad boy to the hilt please?"

There is quite a selection for how small it looks but trust me, it isn't that tiny. They also have a mini deli and a hardware section. The cashier is very speedy and I never have a problem finding what I need. The prices for sf standards aren't bad either. I would recommend it if you need to pick up some snacks for a trip or a stud finder when we forgot one and moved onto the island.

Battling rush hour traffic, my stomach was making noises usually reserved for wildlife documentaries. As I searched for signs of civilization and sustenance, a beacon of hope appeared on the horizon: Island Cove Market. Imagine if Safeway and Trader Joe's had a whirlwind romance that resulted in a love child. That's Island Cove Market. Part neighborhood grocery store, part specialty market, part deli, and apparently part savior of hungry commuters. For anyone who's ever been trapped on the Bay Bridge wondering if they'd survive long enough to see San Francisco or Oakland, this place is an oasis. Instead of gas station hot dogs and stale chips, they offer burgers, fries, fried chicken, wraps, shawarmas, and enough comfort food to convince you traffic might not be so bad after all. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma, and when they handed it to me, I briefly wondered if they'd accidentally given me two lunches. This thing was massive enough to feed both me and my imaginary volleyball companion, Wilson. The flavors were definitely milder than the bold, spice-packed shawarmas I've enjoyed elsewhere, but everything was made fresh right in front of me. The ingredients tasted quality, the wrap held together beautifully, and perhaps most impressively...I managed to eat the whole thing in my car without wearing half of it on my shirt. That's an underrated culinary achievement. The market itself is clean, well-stocked, and surprisingly inviting. Whether you're grabbing groceries, hunting for a quick meal, or simply trying to survive another Bay Bridge traffic jam, Island Cove Market is the kind of hidden gem that makes Treasure Island worth the detour. It's not trying to reinvent food. It's simply serving fresh, satisfying meals to weary travelers while quietly saving marriages one less "I'm starving!" argument at a time. Four stars. Not because it delivered the most flavorful shawarma I've ever had, but because when you're stranded on Treasure Island with a growling stomach, Island Cove Market feels less like a convenience store and more like a delicious rescue mission. Come hungry and Go Big!!!
