There is a tire pump and they have window cleaning services. Staff are helpful and friendly. Self-serve is convenient.

I am a loyal custom of Esso at 9100 Westminster Hwy, Richmond. I went to the same gas station to…read morefill up my gas for years even the other gas station with cheaper rate. I walked in the station office on April 5th at around 3:52 pm and asked for regular graded gas for $80. I scanned my PC Optimum point card as usual routine after the cashier input the requested amount to the machine. The Esso cashier yelled at me very rude and asked me why I scanned the PC Optimum without his permission. I asked what had I done wrong, I did this routine for the past few years. He started rude, non stop yelling and telling me that he recognized me and knew I went there to fill up gas all the time, he can refuse selling gas to me, ok, go complaint me.......... I asked if I did anything not properly. He told me that I scanned the point card may led to his redo the work again which I do not understand what he means. I reconfirmed with him if I caused him to redo the procedure this time? He said not this time but he will cancel this transaction and not selling the gas to me and asked me not to visit their gas station again. He challenged me to complaint him but he covered his name tag. I took a picture of him and he posted for me. see attached picture. What a service?! Glad that it is not the only gas station in Richmond.

Richmond has some archaic law, that says all gas stations must be full service. So there is one kid…read moremanning 8 pumps here. Wait... Wait... Wait... Wait... Wait... You getting dropped a star due to the fact that you actually close service for a shift change? I…read morethink this is real poor management, understanding that this is the only gas station in this area, and that the next one is quite a drive. I have encountered this a number of times and have been completely frustrated at this. You are a gas station, you do not need to close off all pumps at around 9 to do a complete shift change. Poor management, that is one way to look at it. This gas station runs around the clock, and to have it shut down (all the pumps) at a certain time to take your sweet ass time to change the people working there, really, I don't see places like McD's stop serving Big Mac's and fries for a shift change? The words you SUCK come to mind, and you have a guy sitting there telling people, no gas yet, I don't see that you ran out of gas and a gas truck is filling the station? If your going to shut down, shut down completely, or manage your staff better to serve the customers!

There is (or was) a very deranged person who works here. This incident happened about 2.5 years…read moreago. Richmond has a municipal by-law that prohibits gas stations from officially offering self-serve fuel. However, the extremely outdated bylaw is not enforced, and it's generally accepted among drivers and station staff that customers do fuel their own vehicles without issue. One night, about 2.5 years ago, I pulled into this station where there was a long line for full service which spilled onto the road. I encountered a pump with a traffic cone next to it implying it was out of service, but the pump was actually operational. A lot of stations do this to funnel full-serve guests towards the pumps closest to the convenience store when it's not busy. On this night, it was clearly very busy. Since I was willing to serve myself, I pulled up next to the pump and inserted my payment card to begin the transaction, expecting there to be no issue since I wasn't impeding the station's ability to serve the queue of full-serve customers. After my card was approved and I picked up the nozzle, an obese Caucasian man who appeared to be in his 50s confronted me aggressively and ripped the nozzle out of my hand as I was about to insert it into my vehicle. He mashed the Cancel button on the pump and chastised me for using the pump that had a cone next to it. This seemed inappropriate since the pump was working fine and I wasn't harming anyone. Not wanting to escalate the situation I pulled my car over to the other side of the pump island which did not have a cone next to it and started the transaction again. However, this psycho became all the more aggressive, got in my face, and cancelled the transaction again. Finally, he directed the clerk who was working inside to remotely disable all the pumps on that island. I get that they need to manage traffic volumes on their property, but they are clearly going about it the wrong way. I am not sure if management is aware of or condones this behavior, or if this is simply a rogue employee. I have not seen him here since this encounter, so I presume he quit or has since been terminated for his atrocious behavior.
