My friend got a flat tire on a recent trip to Tahoe. We called here to see if they would be able to patch his tire. Heads up that the auto mechanics/tire folks have different hours than the gas station itself. Tire repair hours were 8 am- 8 pm. So hopefully that saves some other folks from unnecessary driving on a spare tire! read more

My daughter and I were having a very eventful vacation to Reno and Tahoe, when it suddenly started snowing in Tahoe. When one tire was way lower than the others, i realized it was going flat. I went to this chevron to get it repaired, fully expecting typical crappy gas station service. I was pleasantly surprised when they went above and beyond to get us back on the road! They found a nail, patched the hole in like 15 minutes, and got us out of the snow and into the road in less than 30. While staying in Incline Village needed to fill up and was looking for a Chevron station. Yelped gas station and here we are. Chevron was less than a mile from our location and prices are lower than our local gas station back home. Filled and it only took about $80.00 and we were on our way. Convenience store was closed as we got there. Maybe store hours need to be updated as they were off by a couple of hours. read more

Unanticipated German SUV opportunities presented themselves while up in Incline. First visit, smoke out of engine. Upon pull in, James noticed a tire bulge in my relatively newish tire. His keen attention enabled a quick change out inflating and putting on the donut. Saved us from a big potential blowout on the upcoming drive home. Thank you! Second visit was to undo the donut and replace with new tire ordered and had brought up to Incline from Americas Tires. Dave and Josh swung into motion and squared that away to undo the donut and mount the new tire. Thank you! Third visit, after an oil change elsewhere, still troubleshooting by elimination, smoke out of engine, brought in a new air filter from Napa Auto that Matt and James were able to replace removing the old dirty filter. Truly appreciate their responsiveness, willingness to say yes to troubleshoot without recommending expensive diagnostics not needed, identify risks early before they became an issue (big bubble in the tire), making maintenance financially viable, while mobilizing timely. Less time spent in shop = more time spent at the beach! Also, noteworthy that they were recommended to me by the Napa Auto store in town and a gentleman/couple driving an Audi/Infiniti in the Raleys complex who said "they always take their car here". First hand experienced how they made my life easier by addressing the bubbled tire to donut to new tire replacement and the engine air filter replacement seamlessly. Got into town with the brakes grinding. Called many places and they were either booked with appointments or didn't do brake service. Called Chevron and they said they could fit us in. Chevron is close to a Starbucks and restaurants so we had a coffee then lunch. By the time we finished our lunch the brakes were done. They were honest, fast, and affordable. Rear brakes for $545 for both parts and labor together. Would definitely recommend. read more

I was heading up from Sacramento to Incline Village and all of the sudden my brakes went out. Turns out I had a tear in my break line. These guys provided the diagnosis with the most amazing, customer centric, honest, and accommodating attitude I have ever experienced. My friend advised me of that but I experienced it first hand and was blown away. Not only did they diagnosis the issue immediately, they did not gouge me AND...they found a part in a nearby city and called in a favor to have someone drive the part up so I didn't have to go pick it up. In the middle of a blizzard, we were having issues with some chains on our car. Apparently the ladder chains were not the correct type. We called the Chevron in incline Village. They were very responsive and very helpful. They recommended where to go to get the chains and told us to stop by and they would put them on. We did just that and it worked out great. They were very helpful. Cost was very reasonable. Even took care of a couple other things and showed us everything about what they did. Went to get a hitch installed in my truck. Was told they couldn't do it that day, to come back tomorrow morning at 8am. Next day, Matt says they're short staffed and not sure if they can get to it. Says I'll get a call by 11am to solidify the plan. 11:45 goes by and I call him, he apologizes and says to come by tomorrow morning at 8am again (3rd time). Get there at 8am, drop off the truck. Get a call 3 hours later that they don't know how to install the hitch and would rather not do it. Complete waste of time. Will not return for business again. read more

My car tire had a slow leak and Matt was able to get me right in even on New Years Eve. Within minutes he had located the nail and began repairing the tire. After repairing the tire and check the pressure in all the other tires I was on my way. Great service. When I got big piece of metal in my tire, they fixed it up fast and gave me a killer discount. They laughed and had a good time while doing a great job. A bunch of people say they give you crap if you are not a local but that is simply not true. I came here before I became a local and so does my family when they visit us. TOTAL THIEVES !!! I did not tell them I was "a local" and I guess this is important, cause I was later told they will take you to the cleaners if you are NOT A LOCAL. Awesome to know....shysters with sliding scale service. I brought my car in to get a plug put in a flat ($40). They did that ok THEN......the lying thieve DOUG said, looks like you need new brakes and wheel bearings. He quoted me $400+ for brakes and $600+or- for wheel bearings. I thanked him, and said ...too expensive for right now. I later took my truck to Les Scwaab Tires in Reno....they said my wheel bearings WERE ABSOLUTELY FINE....and that my brakes had 65% of their life left. So....thinking I was a tourist...they tried to scare me into a repair(2) I did not need. I imagine this technique would have worked on a tourist. Imagine if you were getting ready to drive 3-4 hours down the mountain with your family....you would probably take this thiefs advice. This is WORST than bad service....this is criminal. He tried to rip me off over $`1000 ! and .....wait for it.......it is now 3 years later.....and my brakes and wheel bearings are STILL GOOD !!! read more

The mechanic didn't think he'd be able to get to it since they are so busy but much to my surprise he did! DO NOT STOP HERE. TOTAL SCAM. My boyfriend and I were heading back to the bay after a day of skiing in Tahoe, and needed to fill up the tank before the long drive. Stopped by this Chevron, and boy were we surprised to see carefully laminated signs on all the pumps: "OUT OF REGULAR/PLUS. PLEASE USE PREMIUM ONLY." Now, it seemed mighty fishy to us that the entire station was out of both the Regular 87 Octane gas *and* the Plus 89 Octane gas.... And they just so happened to have these handy little laminated print-outs to tell us that we HAD to buy the most expensive gas. They taped the sign over the button to select Regular gas, to further discourage people from buying it. Well, my boyfriend and I were pretty skeptical. One of the only gas stations in the area, they know they're going to be hit with a ton of traffic from skiers going to/from the slopes... why not try to milk a few extra dollars out of customers by forcing them to buy the most expensive gas? We decided to see for ourselves, & carefully peeled up the corner of the sign, pressed the button for REGULAR 87 Octane gas... And... Got a full tank full of it. Out of Regular? Bulls$#%! If you don't mind paying an extra 40-cents per gallon, be my guest & pay this place a visit (or take a gamble & press the button for Regular). But if you don't feel like being scammed, I'd keep on driving. I definitely won't be giving this station my business ever again. *mike drop* read more

Steffen at Chevron may have just provided the best customer service of my life!!!! The only true thing I can say is that I am blown away by his service and kindness. I'm from out of town/state and had sudden car issues. I was feeling really isolated and uncertain about my car. Steffen was recommended to me. I called him up and immediately he put me at ease with his open, friendly manner, and amazing helpfulness. While we were on the phone, Steffen tried to help me find the best solution for my problem. I came to the shop and he was able to identify the problem quickly and found a solution that worked well. I was struck by how sharp he is....a dynamic problem solver. I'd recommend him a thousand times over. He went so far above expectation or experiences I've had with other mechanics or customer service for that matter. Jeremy at this business was amazing! My daughter got a flat tire and was driving on her spare. We called this spot and were told to come on over and ask for Jeremy (who had answered the phone and assured us they could help)! Within minutes of our arrival he had repaired the flat tire (which had a nail in it), reinstalled it on the vehicle, topped off the air in the other tires, and placed the spare in the hatchback of the car. I'm pretty sure we were there fewer than 15 minutes. This after calling / visiting several places closer to home, who either turned us away when we called (because they were too busy handling walk ins) or wanted to keep the car for the day until they could get to the repair. Earlier this year my dad passed away and I've been their deliver driver for a little over a year. When they saw me on the news they set up a tip jar so when I returned they helped out with funeral costs. Not only is their service phenomenal but the people that own/work here are genuine human beings. This place is more than a business I know they care about their customers. They also have the cheapest energy drinks in town. All of them are $2. Nowhere in Incline comes close to competing. read more

It's Sunday, we're in Tahoe for a softball tournament and then heading out on a 2 week road trip to Canada and or brand new car starts making this weird noise from the back suspension. We stopped in here just to see if someone can tell us if we need to be worried about this noise, are we safe with all this driving coming up.
