Chevron - The attendant not wanting to come help - Gas Stations Near Me - Hillsboro, Oregon

Revamped Chevron that has all the usual trappings of a gas station/ convenience store. They have a lot of stuff in here at mostly reasonable prices, such as: ready to eat food, candy, snacks, alcohol, beer, cigarettes, and etc. if you're getting gas and only have the exact amount (say $30), you must go inside and prepay. Otherwise they'll try to put a charge that exceed the amount on your card. *Purchased*: Gas ($20.00)- I prepaid this amount. *Selection*: Great selection of snacks and drinks. *Wait time*: None. *Service*: The gas attendants are hit or miss, but the older gentleman who greeted me was nice. However, the service was very, very poor on the cashier's end. I sensed an attitude from her (Teresa) the moment she unpleasantly looked at me, but I still tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and greeted her. After paying in cash, I waited for all of 15 seconds only for her to say "Anything else I can do for you sweetheart?". I said "I'd like a receipt", to which she nastily said something like "I don't read minds, you have to tell me." I of course let her know that usually a customer is offered a receipt. I mean that's one of the basic things a customer should get without having to ask for it. I would not recommend this place at all I walked in yesterday to go pay for my gas because the attendant said I had to go inside to be able to use Cash as I was walking inside I overheard the "Manager "yelling and screaming at the security guard telling him that he is unwanted, unliked, and used derogatory slurs against him to my surprise he walked away peacefully and ignored the whole situation. Once he got in his car he started to leave and walk away from the situation she then continue to go outside and yell at him telling him to not come back "fuck off" And once I got a closer look to the "Manager " it was more clear that the woman may or may not have been a training manager or assistant manager the name tag she wore said Sarah To the corporation of Chevron this is absolutely embarrassing disrespectful and disgusting behavior for one of your employees to be a face of a management team. This is a weird station. It's huge, but there's always pumps closed. Usually they're the farthest away pumps which leads me to believe the only thing broken is the gas jockey's legs. Uh huh. Service is slow, always. Busy or not. The worst offense? If you want to pay cash, you have to go inside. Oh HELL no. If you won't let me pump my own gas (which I would do prefer to do!!!) These guys might be open all night - I don't think I have even seen them closed. I have stopped extremely late myself and received pretty fine service...nothing out of the ordinary bad or good. The only negative is that sometimes there are creepers in the nearby parking lot...just saying be cautious. read more

This gas station is always convenient to go to for me and the prices are reasonable so I go frequently. Unfortunately, the worker that is consistently there is on his phone 24/7 and doesn't give any customer service and acts like customers are inconvenient. The amount of times I asked for a receipt, wasn't given one, and was treated like I was the issue is just mind blowing. I shouldn't be the only car at the pumps waiting for you to get off tik tok. For a gas station, this is the best in the Hillsboro-Beaverton area. The service is always friendly and quicker than other places. It is frustrating having to wait in line forever at gas stations, which I find to be a pretty typical scenario in Oregon. At this Chevron, they usually have enough staff to get you in and out quickly. The employees are always friendly. They usually chat with you a little bit and offer a complimentary window wash while you wait. Only bad thing is I have found that the station is often shut down due to issues with the cash register or other maintenance. Also, they have so many pumps available but only half of them are in use and blocked off by cones. read more

Aside from all the attitude I was given, I got to listen to him complain about his job the entire time he begrudgingly pumped my gas. My faith in humanity was restored at this gas station about 45 min ago by a random act of kindness from the attendant. A big shoutout to you (sorry I didn't catch your name) for kindly and generously offering to pay for a few gallons of gas. I asked for just one gallon (I needed enough to drive to another gas station where I get rewards points and cheaper gas) but once you knew my tank was empty and thinking I couldn't afford more, you just offered. I explained my reason and refused of course, but it was the nicest misunderstanding! I have a big presentation tomorrow but I still wanted to write this - that's how much it meant to me to be reminded that kindness still exists! I honestly just have to warn all consumers DO NOT use this chevron. I was verbally harassed by an employee in the most disrespectful absurd interaction I've ever experienced. This situation arose from nothing, just a normal gas station experience that turned into my worst nightmare. After contacting corporate customer service turns out this was the employees 4th complaint and yet I was told nothing could be done besides a short suspension. So he will be back and he will continue to treat customers in a horrific manner. The only reason I give this place 4 stars is that they offer a free air and water machine. That's almost unheard of these days. I don't actually get gas here (because there are much better deals just down the street), but I have run into the food mart a couple times for quick snacks before hitting the road. read more

Have stopped to get gas here a few times before heading into Portland. Most of the staff is quite nice and won't mind having a short chat with you as long as it's not busy and they also have no problems with window washing requests. Like many other reviewers I've noticed at most half of the pumps shut down. After bringing it up with one of the employees they kindly explained to me that at most they generally only have 3 pumpers outside during a small time of the day, most of the time they only have 2, and there are a few times were I only see one poor guy out there by himself as 4 cars pull in at the same time. This meant that having more pumps open can easily become overwhelming and it controls traffic flow. They also said they open more pumps accordingly depending on how busy they get. I didn't really mind having some of the pumps closed down because it kept me closer to the store which shortened my walk in case I had to use the restroom or buy a snack. Just a little added efficiency which outweighs a minor inconvenience in my opinion. I've gotten to know a handful of the staff a little bit. I've seen some of them on there bad days which is understandable, they're human too. But even on their bad days they try their hardest to be great employees. They try to be informative to some of the questions I've thrown at them but even if they don't know they try to be nice about explaining that. Overall a nice little stop even if the prices can seem a bit high (Which I was told they don't control at the station but the prices are controlled by corporate. Really nice guy pumped my gas today, with a great attitude and in the most efficient way possible. It seems random to me to write a review for a gas station, but I was sincerely impressed today. There was no apathy, no irritation at having to pump my gas, just a nice smile and lots of "thank you ma'm." I'm not sure I'm ready for "ma'm", but it was a nice sentiment. read more
