I come to this gas station on a daily basis to buy myself Dutches. I never once had a issue. I had just got off work and went inside and a new lady named AMY (I've never seen her before) told me she wouldn't sell me any Dutches because they don't do "second hand purchases" I had my ID ready for her and everything. I buy them for myself ALMOST EVERYDAY AT THIS EXACT LOCATION OFF TAMARACK. I don't know if this is racist thing or what but I'm beyond pissed off about this. I go here all the time. Marissa is amazing. Everyone else is too, except Geoffrey. He makes it clear, over and over, that he hates his job and customers are an inconvenience. He's made me cry more than one time just checking out. I love this Chevron, but Geoff wants customers to never come back. ( I have worked for Chevron gas for years. And I'm also old and fat like him. Up until today I have come here pretty much every single day. However, I have decided to take my business elsewhere after one of the employees here has absolutely zero respect for the customers. Just now when I walked into the store there were at least eight people in line and the line was all the way past the doors, and there was one other woman working the register who was extremely sweet but she said she was kind of new and still learning the machines. The entire time this was happening and all of the customers were standing there for 10-15 minutes, the Latina girl (I feel bad calling her that, but I do NOT know her name) was off in the back corner pretending to mop. I felt bad for the girl at the register who seemed very overwhelmed and extremely irritated that her coworker was leaving her to do it all by herself. read more

This gas station is in a prime location, in a great neighborhood and close to the freeway. The staff is friendly and courteous except for one of the supervisor or manager who is a bit rude. I don't know maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. For the most part I don't have a problem with the staff but they need to clean the surrounding area specially the pump stations. They are filthy and full of unknown stains and debris, one in particular, PUMP No. 3. Someone vomited on that spot and I remember the date when I noticed it, June 15, 2011 and to this day it's still there. I recently took the picture with my phone/camera date stamped September 24, 2011, 5:29 am, location stamped, 970 Tamarack Ave. Carlsbad. PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR GAS STATION, THANK YOU! p.s. Pump #1 has a faulty handle: the handle didn't know when to disengage and over filled my tank by 1.5 gallons. Gas spewed all over the area surrounding the handle. The manager refunded me for 1 gallon. I would not come here again. read more

This review is not for Chevron gas, but for this station and the friendly folks that work there in the morning. Since moving back to Carlsbad 2 monthsago I have stopped here almost every morning for coffee. The folks that work in the morning are always very friendly and the coffee is always hot. I think the only con would be a better selection of things for breakfast. read more

Was very impressed by how clean this placed smelled and looked inside and out. Friendly cashier and Clean restrooms.

If negative stars were possible I would write multiple reviews. I am currently residing in Carlsbad furthering my education at GIA. I live within walking distance of this station and spend roughly $150 a month on gas, beverages, food, charcoal, etc. I have an out of state license and apparently they do not accept out of state licenses anymore as a valid form of ID. They had no problem with my ID the past 5 months, but today is apparently a new day! I provided multiple other forms of ID (hunting license, openwater diving certification, etc) that could verify I was in fact of age, but the dense teenage behind the counter still refused. I WILL NEVER GIVE ANOTHER CENT TO THIS PLACE! read more

Well, what do you say about a gas station? They have pumpable gas all day long, and the restrooms have minimal graffiti in them (plus points for the option of paper towels OR a hand dryer!) The big selling point for me is that this is the best alternative to the seemingly always-busy AM-PM station on Tamarack near the coast (which seems to accommodate every day laborer in San Diego county from 6am to 9am) The ladies working the morning shift are friendly, and the store section of the station has a good selection of coffees, junk food, drinks and the like. read more

I love Chevron gas. Good for your car lol...always very clean inside and out. Staff are super nice and just a good gas station. I stop here on my way through North County because the prices are super competitive with surrounding gas stations. read more

Been to this gas station many times for gas and only had to go inside a few times to buy something. Went in for some coffee this time and once again I got short changed. Bought two coffees for $3.48. I give him a $5, he gives me my change and I look at him and asked where my dollar was. Without saying sorry or oops my bad he reluctantly gives me my buck. This was the second time that has happened to me at that station. I went home and told my wife and she told me that that has happened to her a few times there as well. Makes me wonder if it's a common practice.... Horrible way of making extra cash. I can't imagine how many people they take advantage of on a daily basis. SICK! read more

This station & Extra Mile store has had good personal in the past, however, one of the poorest in terms of managing inventory, its amazing how consistently its out of product and equipment failures...even simple items like Diet Coke from the soda machine is consistently out of product each week...no one can figure out how to order sufficient product. I often end up going to the AMPM Arco station down the road which seems to keep its products stocked and equipment does not break down. read more

I had a check engine light come on just before I hit the 5 picking up my younger cousins, I didn't know the area well, and had never had a check engine light come on. I totally freaked out. I looked for a service station to park my car and see what was wrong. The gentleman in the service station dock noticed my distress. I had pulled the car over and checked the engine while it was on and off. He told me to bring my car up to the dock and he checked the codes. I'd normally expect this to cost money, but he didn't accept money for finding the diagnostic code, P0340 - Cam Shaft Sensor. I don't know a lot about cars, but I was actually relieved to know that it was a sensor. I then asked him if it would be safe to drive the car some distance away, as my house is not very close. He told me that it would and he'd suggest that I just take the car and try to get the sensor fixed ASAP. I took his advice, and the printout of the scan he'd provided. He saved me so much grief, and I am very grateful for his help. This place is as good as it gets, and I'll make sure to get my gas here any time I'm in Carlsbad. read more
