I am not surprised to see the low-star rating and I will not be back. WORST experience ever as a customer and from someone identifying himself as a manager...
I stopped by Chevron on Carlsbad Village Drive today and went inside to get change for a twenty dollar bill, which I mentioned in advance. I purchased scratcher lottery tickets so I could get change and one of the scratchers was more than I noticed so I ended up with not enough change to fill up my water at Karlsbad Water. I asked him if I could switch out one of the lottery tickets for a lower amount so I would have enough change leftover. The answer was a hard NO. I asked him if I could instead get change for another $20 bill and he told me to "go to the bank". At that point, I asked for a manager and he said with a very smug look, I am the manager, a senior manager. His name was Ernesto and he looked like he was in his 30's and acted like a child. I am not convinced he was really the manager because he was so unprofessional and rude, especially to a paying customer. As I left, I was upset and a customer outside asked me if everything was ok and I summarized what occurred and she said she has never had a good experience with the staff here and stops in for gas because it is convenient. People need to be kind, it is as simple as that. It goes a long way. read more
