I was given a 2 hour window in which the driver would show up. The driver, Devon, arrived over 30 minutes later than the 2 hour window I was given. Devon seemed completely unhappy that the car didn't start (Subaru knew this, and should have told them). When he asked how to put the car into neutral, I told him I didn't know and phoned the dealership. The service adviser at the dealership told me there is no way to put the car into neutral without it having battery power. Devon showed me the video he'd found on Youtube about how to take the car out of gear - this required me to loan him a bread knife so he could pry some pieces off of my car. I was a bit apprehensive and asked if he'd like to talk with the dealership adviser, who said he would be happy to chat with him about the vehicle. Devon wasn't interested. At this point, a cargo van was stopped and honked at us. I walked over to let the driver know it would be a little while, so he'd be better off going around on a another block. This driver asked if I would help him back up, and I agreed to help him out. At this point Devon yelled at me, and I said, "Just a minute, I've got to help this guy back up out of here." Devon's response? To call me an "a**hole" on the phone to whomever he was talking to. When I returned, he wouldn't talk to me and told me he needed to get a tool - but he said it would just be 10 minutes before he'd be back. Then I found out that Subaru had scheduled a new tow truck provider, and I'd have to wait at least an hour for the next driver to arrive. I can't say I'd recommend Platinum Towing at all. My experience with them was that their employees were rude, not knowledgeable, insulting and overall working with them was completely a waste of time. At least the person I spoke with on the phone about this poor experience had a modicum of manners.

The vehicles I inspected ... #1...rust and major corrosion. Rusted out undercarriage and bumper. It looked like a hard bump would have knocked the bumper off. Even the peg holding the floor mat was rusted. Went to open the glove compartment and it completely disengaged and fell to the floor. Didn't even bother test driving. The price was laughable at 22k. I wouldn't pay 3k for it. Vehicle #2...better...only some rust in undercarriage. Turn signal shorted out and near 200k miles. It was a lower FWD model than the first one and priced at 19k....ridiculous. I was able to find a superior vehicle, same make/model and one year older with less miles for 14k at the premium AWD model.
