I do not regret it.Thoroughly enjoyable stay. I almost made the mistake of booking with Expedia but I wanted to check the breakfast options and I found the breakfast was a free upgrade for website bookings so I got a better deal overall on their homepage. My room was spacious and clean with modern touches eg usb sockets. The wifi was excellent. and the location is great, not far from the sea. Price is friendly, at least compared to what i am used to pay in my country (Switzerland). I look forward to returning.

Comfortable, Quiet & Peaceful with a Fantastic Garden…read more Ashcroft Guest House was the perfect location for our visit to Hadrian's Wall. Our stay with Geoff & Christine was relaxing and peaceful. The B&B was a few blocks away from the train station so was a perfect location for us. Our room was clean and cozy and overlooked Geoff's amazing garden. This area was so quiet, we slept really well our entire stay. The house was extremely clean and very well kept. Christine's breakfasts were delicious, especially the home made croissants! We enjoyed many conversations with our hosts and had a wonderful time during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

This is a small, basically one-man, bed and breakfast operation that caters mainly (but not…read moreexclusively) to hikers and bicyclists, since it's convenient to the Hadrian's Wall Path, and on a bicycle route. There are several choices of accommodation, ranging from bunkbeds to en suite rooms. Prices are extremely reasonable, perfect for those passing through on the trails. Although on a somewhat busy 2-lane country road, there is no traffic in the evening, and the area is totally quiet. The mattress in my room was soft, and at first I was concerned, but I actually had the best sleep of my entire trip. Breakfast is included. There's a wide assortment of choices, both hot and cold, and much of it a cut above the rest. For an additional charge, dinner can be provided. Since there is literally nothing else around here within easy walking distance, you'd be advised to arrange dinner here or bring your own. (Although there is bus service right outside the door, it is geared toward daytime use, with no evening runs.) If you do elect to eat here, it's best to call ahead to find out the choices and prices. The food was excellent, and the price reasonable, especially for the quality. A wide assortment of beverages is available (locally brewed and bottled beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks), at varying prices. The host, Les, is very genial and definitely goes out of his way to try and make your stay enjoyable. If in this area, give the Old Repeater Station a try.
