I had going here for a while. Then I was SCALDED. The hairdresser just kept downplaying the whole…read moresituation (I SCREAMED when it happened). I left with wet hair in tears. Neither the hairdresser nor the owner reached out to me to see if I was okay. Side note: The day after this happened, I thankfully found a wonderful hairdresser in Clarkston with a referral from a friend Anyway, after I didn't immediately cancel my upcoming appointments here, they had the poor receptionist (who is very sweet) call to say I couldn't return. Ummm... did you really think I was coming back? I had no intention of returning. She also added in the same phone call (with coaching from the background) that "oh, and [the hairdresser] is independent". My guess is that the owner told her to say this. It is just so awful and disappointing how they handled the whole situation. All they ever did after scalding me was try to cover their butts.

Eff yes. This place is the best. I've been going to the same stylist (Julie L.) since roughly…read more2002. Back then she worked for Heidi's...and so did Salon Beliza's owner, Dushan. When Dushan opened up his own salon, my stylist went with him. I followed. Now it's 2014 and Julie L. grew up and had a family, so she left the salon. I did not. I now see Helena as my stylist and I couldn't be happier. My wife and the rest of my family goes to her when their follicles could use a little more air. She's great at what she does. Dushan always greets me with a smile and a handshake. It's a great atmosphere. Now I'm a dude, so it's not difficult to cut a dude's hair. Unfortunately my hair grows incredibly fast so it takes a talented stylist to make sure I can go 4 weeks without my head feeling like a wookiee in the dead of summer. Helena makes sure I'm comfortable until my next cut. She's awesome. The salon is clean and comfortable. The staff is more than accommodating. The customer service is beyond incredible. I can't say enough about this place. That's my experience with Salon Beliza. It's hard to find a great salon that you can keep coming back to...I'm happy I found mine. How about you? ~ pickle

I went to New Look Hair Salon and had my hair cut right before my 30th birthday. Unfortunately, it…read morewas one of the worst haircuts I've ever received. My hair was choppy, uneven, and significantly shorter than the length she had originally shown me. I was so upset with the results that I actually cried afterward. When she asked if I liked it, I said yes and left. Not because I was happy with it, but because I was so disappointed and knew there was no fixing how much length had already been taken off. I didn't see the point in saying anything at that moment, and I just wanted to leave. I chose this salon based on the positive reviews, and I really wish I had paid closer attention to the dates. The most recent review I saw was from 2024. I can't speak to the quality of her work years ago, but my experience certainly did not reflect those reviews. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, which is why I initially decided to let it go. But I relied on other people's experiences when choosing this salon, and I think it's only fair to share mine so someone else can make a more informed decision. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this salon based on my experience.

Honestly, I debated for a while as you can see about whether I should update or not. It ate at me…read morelong enough that I decided I needed to say something about it. Initially, I WAS Very happy & content with my hair but after that first wash, I knew it wasn't right. It wasn't the same as my last stylist! I think she gave me a keratin or she just didn't leave it in long enough! My stylist from Chicago always gave me undivided attention and kept it in as long as she could! It Always turned out great!! So, if you already have somewhat straight hair or it is just wavy this salon may work but for me, it did not!! I have naturally very curly hair and basically wasted my money!! The moment water hit my head, the curls came back, very disappointed!! No one has ever beaton Sarah in expertise or quality plus she was just like a friend to me! I miss her very much!! Also, she told me it might not work on my hair!! It works! I had it done many times and trust me, if left in long enough, it would have worked. Also, for the color, they won't tell any shades so now i have to hope someone will get it close to the same shade when i get to california! I can't come back to Michigan every couple months all the ways from California just for a touch up, that's absurd! Unless you live here or can travel 24/7, Just don't!! Again, like I said, I didn't want to update but i feel it was right to be honest even if the experience was a bad one because it might help someone else save their hard earned money! These ladies are nice but i don't go to a salon for someone to just be nice to me, I go to get a job done so my auditions and headshots can look amazing!! Before getting Headshots done, I had to go to another salon in New York which i wouldn't have needed to if i had it done right! That was extra money i wasn't counting on spending! My latest Self Tapes looked awful because my hair just did not look straight or beautiful and they expect it in the Industry! This really disappointed me, all that money for nothing! I will be seeing someone when i get to California and hopefully never have this problem again!! :(
