Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I came in specifically because I was feeling unwell and suspected a blood sugar issue--especially since lab work from a different clinic the prior week showed a fasting glucose level high enough to indicate diabetes. Despite explaining this, the Physician Assistant (PA) dismissed my concerns, told me I "didn't fit the profile" for diabetes, and ordered a thyroid panel instead. Three days later, the support staff called to tell me they lost my blood sample and needed me to come back in. When I expressed frustration that they lost my sample for a test I didn't even ask for--while still refusing to run the metabolic panel I actually needed--the staff member literally hung up on me. I only returned the next day because it is within walking distance of my house and I was having the same feeling again, wanting to get to the bottom of what was happening. While the PA on duty that day was attentive, she ended up sending me to the ER for my blood pressure. After waiting four hours at the hospital, the ER doctor confirmed it wasn't an emergency at all. To top it all off, I received another call from the urgent care informing me that they did eventually run a metabolic panel, and my A1C and fasting glucose levels are, in fact, indicative of diabetes. Between the PA completely dismissing a patient's concerns, the staff losing blood samples, and being hung up on, the lack of professionalism and competence here is alarming. Go somewhere else.

There are truly not enough words to express how grateful I am for Dr. Desai and his entire office. I have been going to Dr. Desai since I was a child, and I can say with complete sincerity that he is, without question, the best dentist anywhere. And I do not say that lightly. I am someone who is absolutely terrified of the dentist. Not just nervous but genuinely panic-attack, freeze-up, can't-breathe kind of terrified. Dental appointments have always been something that fill me with overwhelming anxiety, and for anyone who understands that level of fear, you know how much trust it takes to even sit in that chair. Dr. Desai is the ONLY dentist who has ever made me feel truly safe in that environment. His kindness is unmatched. His patience is extraordinary. His skill and gentleness are beyond anything I have ever experienced. He has this rare ability to make you feel like you are not just another patient on a schedule, you feel genuinely cared for as a human being. He explains things, reassures you, never makes you feel ashamed for being scared, and somehow brings a calm into a place that normally feels terrifying. And Karin...I honestly don't even know how to put into words what a beautiful soul she is. Truly beautiful inside and out. I wouldn't go anywhere else because when it comes to something like dental work, you only want the best taking care of you. First of all, all the staff for cleaning, preparing things, and assisting the doctor all seem to have been there 5+ years, so they REALLY know what they're doing, you can relax knowing they'll take great care of you. Second, Dr. Desai himself is always very professional, personable, and knows what he's doing. He's been doing this a very long time and with me, he went the extra mile... I only paid for 1 filling and 2 partial fillings, but he also filled other groves in the top of my teeth to help with my night grinding since he had the extra time. Dr. Desai and his staff also managed to do all that work with less discomfort than a standard cleaning. Even getting the shots for numbing me barely hurt at all... being able to get it done here is a real luxury. And finally, there's Karen. She's at the front, and she knows insurance like no other. My initial co-pay guesstimate was around $200... she got it down to $76.60. That's just an amazing price for the experience. read more

Dr. Desai is very thorough, and an excellent dentist! He provides top-notch dental care and is up to date on the latest treatments/philosophies of dentistry. My husband has had some complicated dental work done by other dentists that Dr. Desai was able to correct without difficulty. The office is very clean, and new. I always feel comfortable when we arrive. The wait times are always minimal, the office staff are efficient and courteous. Appointments are easy to obtain. Dr. Desai has been my dentist for over 20 years. His expertise and excellent staff are second to none. I see him twice yearly for my checkup and cleaning. He doesn't do unnecessary procedures, and in many cases he will monitor a potential problem with the patient and will do what is necessary when the time is right. He was uniquely able to explain complex dental issues in plain English -- even I understood exactly what was going on and why. Dana, the hygienist, was superb. I went in as a new client and was glad to know they had appointments available. The receptionist welcomed me and had me fill out some forms before being seen by Dr. Chet Desai. He eventually took care of the reason I went in and brought to my attention a few other things I should take care of. I definitely will be back. read more

They took X-rays, performed a 3D scan, and the dentist carefully reviewed everything with me. The examination revealed that I needed a deep cleaning, one lower molar had a large cavity that would eventually need extraction, my missing front tooth was still present beneath the gum, and the tooth next to it had significant bone loss and needed to be removed. I was scheduled for four deep-cleaning appointments with laser gum treatment, one quadrant of my mouth at a time. I have never been a fan of needles, teeth cleanings, or dental appointments, so I was expecting the worst. Instead, the dental hygienist completely changed my expectations. She was incredibly gentle and skilled. I barely felt the numbing injections, experienced no pain during the procedures, and when the anesthesia wore off after each visit, I still had no pain. That was true for all four appointments. During my third cleaning, she offered to have the extractions done while I was already numb. I appreciated the suggestion, but I wanted to speak with the dentist again before making that decision. He took the time to discuss my options and agreed that we could postpone extracting the molar since it wasn't causing me any discomfort. I really appreciated that there was no pressure to proceed unnecessarily. When extraction day came for the tooth with severe bone loss, it turned out to be a difficult extraction. It wasn't nearly as loose as I had expected, and removing the broken front tooth beneath the gum was also somewhat challenging. Afterward, they fitted my flipper, and seeing my smile restored immediately was a wonderful feeling. Recovery was a little painful for about three days, but everything healed well. Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Myra C. Luna DDS, Inc. The entire staff was professional, caring, and took the time to explain each step along the way. The only reflection I'd offer isn't about the office at all--it's advice I once received from my children's dentist Dr William Fan many years ago: "Don't give up your teeth." Looking back, I probably should have asked whether only the broken portion of the damaged tooth could have been removed instead of the entire tooth. That's simply something I encourage other patients to discuss with their dentist before making a final decision. Ask questions, understand all of your options, and make the choice that's best for you. Based on my experience, I would confidently recommend Myra C. Luna DDS, Inc. to anyone looking for a compassionate and highly professional dental team.

I came in for X-rays and a basic dental cleaning. Instead, I was immediately pushed toward a so-called "deep cleaning" with a price tag of over $1,000. Funny how that recommendation came before anyone seemed capable of taking proper X-rays. The X-ray room itself is ridiculously small--barely enough space for two people--and yet somehow 4 or 5 different staff members rotated in and out trying (and failing) to get usable images. My X-rays had to be redone multiple times, which didn't exactly inspire confidence in their training or competence. To top it off, I was lectured about my oral hygiene by a hygienist who spent more time talking than listening. Additionally, every time she spoke, she appeared to be out of breath which explains her physical aspect. Despite brushing three times a day and flossing morning and night, I was talked down to and pressured into unnecessary services. The most telling part? When I declined the overpriced deep cleaning and asked for the insurance-covered cleaning I originally came for, the staff clearly seemed annoyed. If a patient not wanting to spend $1,000 is an inconvenience, that says everything. This place feels less like a dental office and more like a sales operation wrapped in chaos. Save yourself the frustration, the pressure, and the wasted time--look elsewhere. Don't even bother.

The good dentist I went to after charged my insurance $600 for the exact same X-rays as well as the cleaning and actual work this one tried to over charge me on after I left with no work done because of dirty tools. They also tried to keep my medical data, then tried to change me for it which is actually illegal. Avoid at all costs. My experience: I booked through OpenCare because the office looked modern and the front desk staff were great. Unfortunately, the clinical experience was the opposite. The exam tools presented to me appeared dirty, so I stopped the appointment and asked for clean ones. The exam itself took about 30 seconds. The dentist and assistant struggled to use the software, and when I asked why I needed a deep cleaning, I got "trust me, I'm the dentist" instead of an explanation. I was also told I had bone loss without being shown evidence. They didn't seem to know how to measure pockets or do an actual exam. They also tried to sell me a deep cleaning, misrepresented what it actually is, and didn't actually look at what they needed to. I got a second opinion. The new dentist reviewed every X ray with me, explained everything clearly, and confirmed I did not need a deep cleaning. Ironically, I actually needed extensive legitimate work including an extraction, Invisalign, whitening, and more. They lost what could have been a long term lucrative patient by recommending treatment I didn't need instead of building trust. They also way overcharged my insurance for work they did not do. I wouldn't recommend this office. Get a second opinion before agreeing to a deep cleaning here since this seems to be their main scam. I take care of my teeth, by the way. Avoid if you can, especially if you're not already knowledgable about dental work.
