I recently became a patient at Myra C. Luna DDS, Inc. after losing one of my front teeth and scheduling an appointment to have it replaced. My first visit was very thorough. They took X-rays, performed a 3D scan, and the dentist carefully reviewed everything with me. The examination revealed that I needed a deep cleaning, one lower molar had a large cavity that would eventually need extraction, my missing front tooth was still present beneath the gum, and the tooth next to it had significant bone loss and needed to be removed. I was scheduled for four deep-cleaning appointments with laser gum treatment, one quadrant of my mouth at a time. I have never been a fan of needles, teeth cleanings, or dental appointments, so I was expecting the worst. Instead, the dental hygienist completely changed my expectations. She was incredibly gentle and skilled. I barely felt the numbing injections, experienced no pain during the procedures, and when the anesthesia wore off after each visit, I still had no pain. That was true for all four appointments. During my third cleaning, she offered to have the extractions done while I was already numb. I appreciated the suggestion, but I wanted to speak with the dentist again before making that decision. He took the time to discuss my options and agreed that we could postpone extracting the molar since it wasn't causing me any discomfort. I really appreciated that there was no pressure to proceed unnecessarily. When extraction day came for the tooth with severe bone loss, it turned out to be a difficult extraction. It wasn't nearly as loose as I had expected, and removing the broken front tooth beneath the gum was also somewhat challenging. Afterward, they fitted my flipper, and seeing my smile restored immediately was a wonderful feeling. Recovery was a little painful for about three days, but everything healed well. Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Myra C. Luna DDS, Inc. The entire staff was professional, caring, and took the time to explain each step along the way. The only reflection I'd offer isn't about the office at all--it's advice I once received from my children's dentist Dr William Fan many years ago: "Don't give up your teeth." Looking back, I probably should have asked whether only the broken portion of the damaged tooth could have been removed instead of the entire tooth. That's simply something I encourage other patients to discuss with their dentist before making a final decision. Ask questions, understand all of your options, and make the choice that's best for you. Based on my experience, I would confidently recommend Myra C. I had the best visit! Aracely (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was such a sweetheart! She took care of me and gave me a mini tour, explained what to expect during the visit, and took my X-rays. After I met Phoebe and she did a wonderful job explaining how she was going to measure my gum pockets to let me know what type of cleaning I would need. She also did my cleaning. I also met with the doctor and can't remember his name. He was really cool and very professional. I loved that they explained the charges before proceeding with anything. The coolest part was the technology they used to make a digital mold of my teeth where they explained everything having to do with me teeth. I highly recommend this place! read more

update... I just happened to review my dental insurance billing. For a filling that THEY screwed up on my spouse.... (it was rough, and not smooth.. you could fill a ridge at the gumline.. basically crap work).. they charged the insurance for "emergency pain treatment" .. was not an emergency, nor was their pain... and for a new filling charge..
