She has fallen 3 times this week after having surgery for her broken leg. They let our mom sit by herself for so long that she wet herself even though she isn't incontinent. Our questions were met with made up answers and we had to hire someone to sit with her and care for her so we could sleep at night. I'm not a comment poster, but this has been so horrific that I had to try to warn people.

Nothing is perfect but when I was admitted a doctor took my vitals, reviewed my history thoroughly with an R.N. also taking notes. The R.N. explained the procedures, introduced me to my main caregiver. They did check on me many times each day & before I turned in for the night. Yes, they have rules about bringing in your own meds but the chances of getting double doses or over dose would be extremely high if not. When I had both knees replaced in 2011, I picked my meals & they were brought to my room since I was on the rehab machines so often. But I could also go to the lunch room or dining room if I wished. If I didn't like what they had on the menu I could order something else. In 2016 I came back due to another hip replacement since I live alone with the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. BEWARE. Sent mother there one week ago to rehabilitate her hip after a partial replacement. Rolled…read moreout of bed and was crawling around the floor dislocating the hip that was repaired. Garden View didn't do an evaluation of the hip. No exam or x-ray but still put her in therapy that day causing extreme pain for mom. Finally, they confirmed with an x-ray over nine hours later that it was dislocated and the center called an ambulance per the administration lead people. I called the hospital that she was being sent to finding out she wasn't there. Called Garden View Rehabilitation back to find out that she was still there. Was told staff didn't know which ambulance service they called, when they called and who called them as no notes were in their system. After 20 minutes on the phone finally found someone who could help. Told them to find another ambulance service since it's been five hours since they called the ambulance and twelve hours since the incident. Because of my call they found another service to take her to the hospital within 25 minutes. If I didn't follow up I don't think my mother would have ever been taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, due to the amount of time it took for her to get to the hospital per the ER doctor she had to have another surgery to repair the dislocation. If I could give them zero stars I would. Can you imagine waiting five hours or longer for an ambulance with something dislocated? She will not be going back to Garden View Rehabilitation...EVER..

They falsifiy information do that it can pass with State. Breanna, Ast. DON and Nurse Sandy even changed my mothers medication pass time without our knowledge or her PCP's order. If State would not notify them and show up unannounced maybe thing wouldn't be allowed. I'd noticed that a lot of workers walk around with their ear buds in talking on the phone even when they should be assisting residents in the shower. Also, they will put your loved one on Psych meds without notifying family not even checking their health history. Maybe because the Chief of Psych is also part owner of Delmar Gardens, seems like a racket. No one cares, like I was told by Charge Nurse Sandy "I don't know and I don't care" when discussing my mother's ER diagnosis. It's all about having a body, even if not qualified. DON,), Charge Nurse Sandy, Marci(Social Worker), Optum Nurses (Sara & Amanda) PCP Alex Rudoi will all burn in hell for how you have NEGLECTED my mother damn near killing her again with the same medication Levothyroxine that was changed to be taken at night but is suppose to be given in A.M. on an empty stomach. Supportive nursing staff, quiet environment, clean and no offensive odors, supportive personnel from top to bottom. When reading nursing home reviews there is so much negativity that it can be frightening. The reality is that no one wants to be sick and in need of nursing home care. Go and observe, do your research and visit often. Be an advocate for your loved one. Delmar Gardens West was a good choice for my Mother in Law.
