She and her staff are simply wonderful. For the first time in my life I got an explanation of each step they took in examining my teeth. My wife found this office when we moved to Missouri and I can honestly say in the last 6 years or so of living here, I've never been upset about a visit here. One thing I cannot understand is how they can remember me from one appointment to the next. I do regular 6 month checkups and never need anything more, yet the receptionists know me when I walk in. The hygienist knows me, remembers my interests and my employer, etc. I don't know how they do it, but it makes the experience even better. At this new practice it always feels rushed and the treatment reflects that. I've basically begged for help for a year over multiple appointments to deal with teeth pain and bad taste I had around implants. Multiple x rays were taken across two trips from what I recall, and kept being told I was all good. Eventually I had to assume they didn't know what they were talking about or just didn't want to deal with it so I went out for other opinions because they just wouldn't help me get to the cause. And this wasn't severe pain and I wasn't looking for pain treatment, I just wanted to fix the tooth and get rid of the taste I knew wasn't right. After seeing another dentist, an oral surgeon, and a prosthodontist I can assure you there was a lot wrong for quite awhile. Some of these other dentist have much nicer x rays and technology but they said even with older machines it should have been clear. But because I had waited too long to see them I am now looking at implant removal, maybe two of them, and then bone grafts to rebuild and then hopefully a reinstall of implant(s). I'm seeing multiple specialist because some want to pull one implant and some want to pull both because of how bad it got. Then I have to explain I haven't been ignoring my teeth, have been going in for cleaning every 6 months, and have specifically brought up there area in question for over a year and for some reason, the dental professional I put my faith and money into, steered me completely wrong and then wouldn't even return my calls since all this. Don't worry though I paid that last bill you were able to send even though my calls and voicemails were ignored. Do yourself a favor, protect your teeth and your own wellbeing and see someone who has the time, skills, and technology to get yourself treated correctly.

State of the art equipment, competent friendly staff, good communication, smoothly run billing, and dental hygienists that are skilled, gentle, and don't rip up your gums. Now on to Dr. Gene Cohen - when he's sober he's great. Okay that was a joke because in the interest of full disclosure, I went to high school with Gene, and then our freshmen year at UMSL. He's the same intelligent, thoughtful, nice guy I knew from years ago. But more than that, he is extremely competent, doesn't rush through the exam, takes time to fully explain things to you, and in general inspires confidence. HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!! Messed up my teeth!! Didn't do proper protocol for initial consultation!!…read more$500 wasted and teeth/SMILE RUINED with zoom whitening!! I went in for my FIRST teeth whitening service on 09/18/26 which costs me $500 out of pocket. When you go into this office they are only worried about collecting money upfront and DONT CARE about consulting new patients about the procedures to make you fully aware of what to expect. Before the whitening process I did not know that some patients are not good candidates for the zoom whitening due to it can cause white blotches all across your teeth. Basically, highlighting deformities rather than enhancing your smile. AGAIN I HAVE NEVER done whitening before and I told them this!! STILL the dental hygienist did not explain the process fully or look at my teeth before starting. In fact they LIED and said I would see whitening results instantly!! This office recklessly had me sit through 3 phases continuing to damage my teeth making the blotches more and more noticeable before handing me the mirror to show me the damage that was caused. I was DEVASTATED!! STILL trying to give them a chance to fix their mistakes, they told me to come back the next Tuesday; I was told they would go another round or figure out how to undo what was done. So my husband drove me went back to the office on 9/22/26 for them to only sit me down to explain why the whitening didn't take. In which, it was too late the damage was already done. THEN, Dr. Melba unprofessionally stated, "you brought your husband for Dillion," insinuating I brought my husband to fight the dental assistant. We are both highly educated and professional people who would never act in such an aggressive matter and that is a very offensive statement. Besides being offended, the statement was insensitive, disrespectful, and the microaggressions during our visit made us feel very uncomfortable. However, this still not the end of this horrible expensive visit! I left crying still no solution to undo what they had done! After this traumatic experience, I was promised a 50% refund and some "special" toothpaste to counteract the whitening blotches. However, as of today 09/28/26 i called the office and spoke with Ashley because I still have not received the toothpaste or refund. I have to walk around self continuous and embarrassed of my smile! My whole purpose was to do something special for my 40th birthday but this Dentist turned this into a nightmare experience!
