From the time I got him, my dog had severe food allergies and we were constantly running to the vet for one reason or another. He had constant diarrhea among other issues. NY Breeder refused to take responsibility and that was that. Now what I can say is that I do have an amazing dog. He is incredibly well behaved (probably thanks to training to some degree). His temperament is amazing. He doesn't bark he doesn't howl he listens well. Everyone wishes my dog was their dog. So as a business is it a great business maybe not. But I do have an amazing dog and I wouldn't have that without NY Breeder.

I have no issue with the price - I read other reviews where clients complain about the charges but they need an education. I guess this place has more customers than they can handle (great!) which was borne out by my impression of a lack of customer service - otherwise I would give 5 stars. The only issue I had is as follows: Bottom Line- is the cat made it out alive - with only two nails cut and bleeding so we should be thankful. Other than that he was clean and fur trimmed and smelled of roses - I did want to address the bleeding nails issue though and called back to speak to Bianca the owner and left two messages with the receptionist for her but no return call. Unimpressed with this. Customer advice now: If your groomer injures (or cuts accidentally) any pet, I as they owner like to be the first to know - tell me when I arrive to collect little Schnoz, and not have me find out when I get home and the cat winces when I pick her up and I see blood on her paws. I'm not being too dramatic either - just tell me when I come to collect the animal... like: "Hi Mr Blobby, I'm afraid Bob our groomer had a little difficulty bathing your cat Schmucko, and when clipping his nails, two of them were cut a little too close to the quick and bled a but please don't worry, he's fine now but we apologize- and be assured he will probably do better next time once he's more familiar with our staff...." Now if you told me something along those lines when I arrived to collect little Schmucko - fine....I'd be absolutely fine with it. By the way I am a military veteran so used to seeing a bit more than Fido's uncomfortable toes - so please know I'm definitely not being overly dramatic at all- it's all relative. I was more upset that I wasn't told promptly and didn't get a call back from the owner. The cat can and will get over it! As for the staff - no one has "time" for the customers as they are so busy. Again, customer service would do well here because clients need to be reassured of quality service and prompt and efficient grooming. Having been told "one hour" but in the end it took three hours: not a biggie again but do try and manage customers' expectations. Tell me' "It may take three hours but we might be done earlier and will let you know." The reception rooms smells bad - dog and cat funk and wet matted hair and poop all mixed together. Get the ventilation going. As I said, the cat made it out in one piece so we will return again but not for a while. It would have been nice to get a call back. One week later and I don't think it's going to happen.

Nail trims have always been a huge issue for us, especially at the vet. They would leave his nails too long, and over time the quick kept growing out, turning his nails into literal bear claws. It got to the point where I didn't think we'd ever get them back to a normal, healthy length. I originally found Jess for my labradoodle Mabel and just happen to ask her about my Louie's nails . Not only did she trim his nails as short as safely possible, she did it with incredible gentleness and patience. Louie was calm, comfortable, and completely at ease -- which NEVER happens. But what truly sets Jess apart is her knowledge and care. She's actively working on helping the vein recede over time so his nails can return to a normal length instead of those "eagle talons." Who even does that?! That level of attention, skill, and dedication is so rare. Jess doesn't just groom -- she genuinely cares about your dog's long-term health and comfort. From the very beginning, about five years ago, I was impressed by the caring, loving way that my boy and I were treated. No matter how many times I brought him there, everything was explained gently and thoroughly. Munchkin was 16 years old. I could see severe changes in him. He lost interest in walking the neighborhood, he lost weight, stopped eating and drinking. I knew that his time had come. The procedure was humane and compassionate and although my heart was shattered, I knew that I was doing what was best for my boy. Dr. Tarasoff was wonderful. She said all the right things and made it as easy as possible for me. Yesterday, I received a handwritten card from Dr. Tarasoff and her staff. Enclosed was a clipping of Munchkin's hair and a paw print. It was so kind and thoughtful and I will treasure it always. I highly recommend the Animal Hospital of White Plains. I have never experienced such compassion. Thank you, Dr. Tarasoff and all of your associates.
