I took the Wine Trolley with my family, and Chesebro was one of the tasting rooms to choose from. Something I noticed at Chesebro was that it had the most tastings out of all the tasting rooms we walked into. Chesebro offered 6 different samples of wine, and we got a bonus 7th sample! Because basically everyone in our large party loves cider, the sommelier opened their cider for us to try even though it wasn't featured on the menu. Of course, we bought a bottle since it was really good! It wasn't as sweet compared to commercial brand ciders I'm used to, but it was crisp and flavorful. Customer service was great. The sommelier was a very nice guy and knowledgeable not only about their diverse menu but also the history of the Chesebro winery. Lastly, I loved how beautiful the space was. I felt that everything had some intimate meaning and was placed with intention. For example, I loved the bar's wood counter top that had a natural wood rot shaped like a heart. If I remember the story correctly (granted I was pretty buzzed at this point), the tree came from a beautiful dying oak tree in the owners' backyard. There was a nice lounge area with couches in the middle of the room. I also felt like I was walking around in an intimate art gallery. Paintings and other art from local artists' were exhibited everywhere, and even the owner's wife had some of her own work of art on display.

Chesebro was mentioned by one of our favorite wineries and although it is a wee tasting room, Dave Bernard did a superb job of walking us through an interesting tasting menu. Their prices and tasting fees were in line with Kirigin Cellars' as well. The tasting room is pleasant and we would come here again.

Great little tasting room in a convenient area with free parking, and close to a few other wineries. If you're going to be short on time, this is a great place to start. Friendly conversation, locals at the bar as well as tourists and lots of informative notes throughout the tasting. The wine is priced very reasonably and, as promised, our first shipment arrived right on time.

Chesebro was a pleasant surprise. After visiting Dawn's, we wanted to try out another of the tasting rooms along the same strip. There were about 3 others to choose from, and Chesebro seemed to have the best things being Yelped about it. The $6 tasting fee gets you 7 wines, which is a pretty excellent price -- especially when you use the Yelp check in offer and then get to taste for free! The wines themselves are also relatively cheap, being around the $20 price range. And really, they're good wines. Because the tasting fee was waived, and because the wines were actually pretty great, I ended up buying a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc for my dad. While you're wine tasting at Chesebro, they also have a mini art exhibit for local artists that they change our regularly. During our visit, they had a collection by two artists, a husband and wife, that focused on owls and printed objects.

Nice selection of whites and reds. For the white wine I highly recommend the Vermintino. For the reds you will be very pleased with their pinot noirs. Join their club and you get a nice discount but even their normal prices are quite reasonable.

The hostess greeted us immediately with a complimentary splash of rosé and walked us to our table right away (no waiting, no confusion, just genuine hospitality!). Within minutes, our server came over and kindly offered us a few wines to try before ordering, which felt like a lovely mini tasting experience. We ended up ordering the Big Basket snacks, a bottle of Chardonnay for the table, drinks for the kids, and of course took a sparkling wine home with us as well. A small detail I especially appreciated: the wine box is simple cardboard without oversized branding or wasteful packaging - practical, elegant, and actually reusable. The atmosphere here is absolutely wonderful: a beautiful courtyard, soft music, charming decorations hanging in the trees, a cute swing, and some of the most gorgeous blooming bushes and landscaping we've seen at a winery. The entire place feels so thoughtfully maintained, peaceful, and inviting. We spent a couple of hours there without even wanting to go anywhere else afterward. We took so many photos and already know we'll definitely be back. Thank you, Holden, and the whole team for turning our day around.

Nestled along the rolling hills, the estate has an immediate sense of calm, quiet, elegant, and intentionally intimate. It's the kind of winery where the experience feels carefully curated, yet completely unpretentious. The wines themselves are exceptional. Pelio leans into cool-climate sophistication, producing whites and reds that are wonderfully balanced, expressive, and full of character. Their Pinot Noir is especially noteworthy, bright, layered, and gently complex, with a finish that feels almost coastal in its freshness. The Chardonnay is equally impressive: crisp, clean, and beautifully textured without ever being over-oaked. Every pour reflects thoughtful winemaking and the unique Carmel Valley microclimate. The staff is knowledgeable without being pushy, offering insights into the estate's philosophy, vineyard practices, and terroir with a genuine sense of enthusiasm. The setting, surrounded by vineyards, soft breezes, and sweeping valley views, makes it easy to linger. If you're exploring Carmel Valley's wine scene, Pelio Estate is an absolute must-visit.

Their wines are crushed, fermented, and bottled in Mendocino county and the family lives here locally and runs their wine business here in Monterey County (they also have a new tasting room in Monterey). Julia was our hostess and runs the tasting room in the village (and it sounds like she runs their family business as well). My wife and I enjoyed a flight of 5 wines. We liked their reds (Grenache, Syrah, and Zinfandel) more than their whites. All three reds were older 'library' wines, being 10-12 years old, which is unusual and a fun angle to their wine tasting offering. We haven't experienced being served older wines in the neighboring wine rooms, which makes blue fox unique in the village. Blue Fox had an unassuming tasting room, but has spectacular exterior grounds. Lots of room for serving large parties. In fact, they have a beautiful wood burning pizza oven for serving flatbreads on Sunday and have live music on occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Blue Fox and learning about Julia and her husband's family business. We will be back with friends and family on Sundays to try their wood fired flatbreads paired with their delicious Syrah.

From the moment we walked in, Marissa took wonderful care of us. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines but also warm and unpretentious. You never felt rushed, and she made the whole tasting feel relaxed and personal. But the real highlight came when Adrian, the winemaker, joined us. Instead of a quick hello, he sat with us and spent real time sharing his story, how he came to winemaking, the "why" behind the wines, and even stories about his growing family. It turned what could have been a simple tasting into something much more memorable. This is exactly what we love about Carmel Valley compared to Napa or Sonoma. Here, the winemakers still pay attention. They sit down with you. They give you time. You leave feeling like you've not only tasted great wine, but actually connected with the people behind it.
