These are fixed, not floating piers, but tides are minimal. The pier head where we stayed (dock E) and the adjacent fuel pier head can be exposed to wind and some waves if coming from the southeast, but the waves are knocked down a bit by flats. The docks are in good repair, and the grounds are immaculate. We took advantage of the free-access propane grills up on shore for a nice picnic. There's a West Marine just a short walk away. The marina has a pool, poolside bar, ice makers, laundry, and more. Their pump-out is also free. Docking here was slightly pricy, but well worth it at a location central to the Chesapeake between two 8-hour sails, and not at all out of line for the area and quality of facilities.

Herrington Harbour North Marina is a site to behold. This entire location is kept pristine. The…read moregrounds are well kept and the main building is immaculate. The restrooms are not only clean and well stocked, but they also have showers. Every inch of the docks are impeccable and every vessel, you could see, are well maintained. The reason for this visit was to assist with returning a family member's 47 foot sailboat back up to the Jersey shore. I cannot commend Herrington Harbour North enough on their professionalism and attention to detail with every aspect of this location. The customers of this harbour are privileged, well supported, and I'm certain....appreciative.

The staff was incredibly understanding even after hauling the kayak to the water and hauling it back. We ended up renting bikes instead and the owner didn't hesitate in refunding the difference. What could have been a disaster turned into a very pleasant excursion.

They are no longer at that location. Bikes are obtained at public bike racks around town and unlocked with a combination that is texted to you. That is very convenient but knowing that ahead of time would have been nice. Alse, their prices were increased over the ones advertised online. The prices are still reasonable, but they should honor the advertised prices until they get their act together.

There is an entry fee for non AA county residents of $8 and for residents it's maybe $5, cash or card. Lots of parking at all different places. Recommend coming early on nice days to avoid crowds. Numerous trails and options throughout, and the park is open from 7 AM until dusk. Among the options are a dog park, art galleries, playgrounds, kayak rentals, ice skating, and picnic areas. I did not get to the Visitors Center, as it closed at 4 PM. We visited the South River Overlook Trail, which was four-tenths of a mile in length, and had benches at the water to fully enjoy and appreciate the spectacular views. There are six other trails, ranging to as much as a mile and one-half in length. An $8 entry fee for automobiles, additional for larger vehicles, and they also offer lifetime senior passes.

We rented a home right on the Chesapeake and i couldn't find anywhere that would deliver kayaks and stand up paddle boards to me until i found Capital SUP. Kevin was terrific he drove up in a big van took out 3 beautiful clean colorful tandem kayaks and carried them far down to our dock with life jackets and paddles. We had so much fun in and out of the water with our families. ...and did I say the price was so much better than going anywhere and renting even for the day. Jessie answered all of my emails and was super happy to be more than accommodating. I originally was scheduled to stand up paddleboard on Saturday, however, the weather was miserable and not a good day to be in the water in my opinion so I emailed and asked if I could just have a rain check. She emailed back and said it would be no problem! My daughter and I showed up today a little before 11 and everything was literally laid out for us. Jesse gave my daughter and I clear instructions. We headed down the grass to meet with Dave who helped us get on our boards and off. We went. The water at sparrows point was very calm and literally perfect for stand-up paddle boarding. My daughter and I had the very best time today and I definitely plan on coming back and would recommend this fun activity for anyone Mahalo Jesse for being a wonderful a responding to all of my questions in email:) My family and I will be back!

My friend and I went on Saturday and had a perfect day with warm weather and no wind. The water was calm and very easy to paddle board on. We chose to rent the paddle boards without an instructor as we've gone many times before, but they also offer lessons, tours, and fitness classes. At the end of our one hour session, the instructors helped us off our boards and offered us slices of watermelon when we went to return our paddles. They have their own parking lot so that you don't have to worry about finding and space and they have an area where you can leave your belongings while you paddle.
