But the actual offices are nice and super modern - too bad I feel like I went through a time warp to get there. The doctor I saw was perfectly nice but I don't feel that her examination was thorough. She didn't check every place and seemed to take great stock in the fact that I had a mole exam within the last 3 years. The entire thing took 4 minutes. I asked about further procedures and pricing... of course, she has no idea. However, I recently had several rude dermatologists and this doctor was perfectly polite. It also showed up on my mass general patent gateway which is helpful for records and billing.

This is the most unpleasant experience I've had with a doctor in some time. First, she was accusatory (why are you here?), almost scolding me for coming in for an annual checkup. She was cold, condescending, dismissive and SO palely unrealistic. When I copped to going to the beach on the weekends and getting some moderate sun exposure - with SPF 50, a sun hat and an umbrella, always, she asked (was it smugly?), "well......would you ever consider changing your lifestyle to stay out of the sun?" Oh yeah, I'm going to stop all my outdoor exercise and activities - biking, running, tennis, skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, etc - and have overweight kids. That sounds like quite a lifestyle change. Why didn't I think of that sooner? Additionally, she seems to be that type that suggests you cut every dot off, to hell with the scars. Seems a bit excessive to me. Back to MGH I go!

I wasn't planning to revisit her in a year to get less and less of a cream I needed either. Then she recommended some so called experts and even called one up to contact me, without my permission. She hadn't even given me the name of the dermatologist. I'm not going to go, because she might be the same sort of dermatologist as this one.

My PCP referred me to get an irritated skin tag checked out. His practice had a 6 month wait for Derm- Skincare Physicians was a month. I saw Kathleen Brodt, FNP-BC (Katie). She was professional and friendly and made me feel comfortable. I asked for a full body skin cancer screening and had her examine a few spots/growths. She suggested snipping one skin tag and freezing the other area (cryotherapy). Quick and easy. She suggested I return annually for skin cancer screening. I made my appt for next year- it had been years since my last skin screening. It never seems to be included in my annual physical. Office was clean, well organized and well-staffed. Very efficient. They do bill insurance for medical Derm.

I have been getting Botox to my forehead periodically at ideal image for about 10-12 dollars a unit so it would cost approx 300 per session. I went to GFaceMD to see if there was a better, longer lasting solution as I didn't have time to go for Botox every 3mo with my busy schedule. What an enormous costly mistake! First you have to pay a 175 consultation fee (normally this is free) just to be told to continue to do the same thing I was already doing. Then their Botox prices are outrageous. You have to become a "VIP member" to get the 16 dollar per unit price (already much more than I was paying elsewhere without a membership). The membership has a 50 fee and then a 6mo mandatory period of deductions (350 minimum price). You can only use you membership funds at their business and they set the rules how how and when you can use your money. With the "vip member" pricing I paid 544 for the same Botox that usually cost me 300. I tried to schedule a follow up visit to use my 300 in membership funds toward some more overpriced Botox but my child got sick and they charged my credit card 200 more as a rescheduling fee!!!! Total cost for one area of Botox (300 value) =. 175 consultation, 544 Botox, 350 vip membership, 200 rescheduling = 1,269. Total rip off!!!!!! Save your money and go literally anywhere else!!!

Then, he mistreated an ongoing cyst issue: I finally sought treatment from another, much better, more responsive, dermatologist, who said that it could have been treated months ago with a steroid injection, which he performed that day, ending the issue for good. Unfortunately, I endured endless amounts of discomfort, until I left Dr. Goldaber's practice. And then, there's the billing department: if you have an issue, forget it. The rudest person I've ever dealt with in my life. Seriously. Go. Somewhere. Else.

I have recommended this Dermatology practice to so many people…read more I have been to three of the locations now, and they are all excellent. If I have an urgent issue, Lena at scheduling has been phenomenal at getting back to me with a cancellation spot. Without an urgent matter, it's usually a 2 to 3 week wait depending on location. Dr. Dawn Baird is who my daughter and now I, typically see. She is extremely thorough and is excellent at avoiding pain. I do not know how she does it but the couple Novocain injections she administered was 100% pain free. I did not even feel a pinch. I forget her assistant's name, but the two of them work great as a team. Dr. Baird is not your typical dermatologist. She takes pictures of everything and dictates extremely thorough notes, to the point where I have no idea what she's talking about, not that it matters because she simplifies it afterwards. I went in for a very awkward procedure, that she turned simple and easy .... as if it was nothing. And let me tell you, it definitely was something. A little advice... Don't bother with compound W - all it did was make a mess. Great patient bedside manner and a very soft, empathetic touch. If you or anyone you care about has H.S (Hidradenitis Suppurativa), this is the facility to go to. All the doctors are knowledgeable. In addition to Dr. Baird, Dr. Rowe (and a few others) treated my daughter. Knowledge, kindness and listening are the features that stand out the most. Prior to AP Derm we went to Beth Israel in Boston. We have our favorite doctors there too. But, there is no need to commute that distance when these doctors are equally talented...and give you more time. Dr. Baird actually gave us more helpful info than B.I. - we never feel rushed. That's important.
