Admittedly, this was my first time trying Nepalese food, but I love Indian and I know they're a little similar, so thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did, because the food was fantastic. The restaurant itself is nicely decked out. It's got a slight modern warehouse type feel to it, but there's ample room (but with small tables), and beautiful smells coming from the kitchen. I ordered the Pan Fried Sekuwa, which are pieces of chicken thigh fillets marinated with mustard leaves, yoghurt, garlic, ginger and cumin. It was so delicious and came with a mini refreshing salad of cucumber and onion and tomato etc. A really good start to the meal. Following that, I ordered the Chicken Curry for my main (which came with butternut pumpkin) and plain rice. It was beautiful and fresh and while the chicken wasn't as tender as the entree, it was still packed with flavour and texture. The service was good. Food came out all together and correctly and within a reasonable time frame, and the prices are worth it for what you get. Street parking is plenty along that side and portion of Waverly Road and I really look forward to trying it again another time.

Prices are very reasonable and the choice of wines good. Parking is readily available on Waverly Rd and a booking was not necessary when we visited. It was a pleasure not to be bothered by piped music so we all had a good conversation in a friendly atmosphere with attentive staff. The flavours were delicate and interesting. The nan breads were a treat. So treat yourself to a night out at Nepal Dining Room.

The food is really good, but parking can be a problem. I've been several times over the years here, and the food is always consistently good and satisfying. The service is sometimes a little slow and not always do the meals come out at the same time. There has been a time or two in the past when one person at the table was forced to eat ahead of the others because their meals weren't out, and it kind of defeats the purpose of going to eat out together, but of late, it has vastly improved. Perhaps they've changed hands, but either way, it's definitely better than years ago (so give it another try if that put you off coming here). I usually order the Battered Chicken in Mandarin Sauce (pictured here but without capsicum, which is why it looks bare), or the Chicken Fried Rice. Also pictured here is the Deep Fried Ice Cream which I love. Not the best I've ever had, but quite good for sure. I think the pricing of the food is good, the polite - if not spotty - service is good (overall), and it's not one of those restaurants where you're rushed out of the door. They are a restaurant that offers both and delivery which adds that extra bit of convenience when they get full and you cannot find a table but still want to eat their Turkish delights and Turkish delights for dessert as well. They have a display at the front of house which will make it that little bit easier to sort through the menu when it comes time to choosing what you are going to eat if you eat in.

The menu is interesting as it's a mix if your normal Pub/European food with a few Thai dishes thrown in. I was informed that the head chef is Thai and hence why the Thai influence. I ordered the Chicken Parma as another friend had put this thought into my mind and I had to try it. The serving size was very generous and the chips were crunchy. The Chicken Param was cooked correctly and had the right ratio of cheese, ham and chicken for a tasty meal. The salad was average and I held off from eating it. I'd recommend this place for families and groups who are after a good meal and a place to catch up or celebrate with.
