We went on-line and to stores to find a new one, but they were not heavy enough and would blow away in a light wind. A local company suggested that we contact Charlesworth, and we could not be happier with the result. Within a week of us contacting him, he came to the site, gave us a very reasonable estimate, tore down the old well cover, toted it away, and built a new, heavier, and aesthetically pleasing cover in one day. No grandchildren will be falling down the well for the next 20 plus years. I highly recommend him for his talent, professionalism, friendliness, and quick action to alleviate this danger in our back yard. Here's a picture of what he built. We haven't decided that if we'll paint it to match the colors of our house or just clear coat it. Either way, we love it.

Despite receiving payment, the contractor failed to complete the agreed scope of work and ultimately abandoned the project before completion. In addition to not finishing the job, the contractor refused to perform work that was clearly included in the contract and for which payment had already been made. The contractor also damaged existing property during construction, including my driveway, home gutters, and exterior woodwork. The job site was left in an incomplete and unsafe condition with construction materials and debris/trash remaining on the property. These actions represent a failure to perform under the contract, non-completion of paid work, and damage to the my property, resulting in financial loss and the need for corrective repairs and cleanup.

Ex: Owner measured the tub area. I then went and purchased a shower/ tub insert as advised. When the plumbing crew came thru - they said than a shower insert would not fit in mu bathroom - the window would have to be moved in order to make room. i then had to return the insert ( a huge hassle because it was out of the box etc) and then order tile - tile took two months to come in. needless to say i was out of a bathroom for that long. Owner never apologize re: wrong measurements. I tried to be some what nice in trying to address concerns but i should have known right then and there re: their integrity. Another ex: painted walls which started peeling after the job. i asked worker about sanding between coats and about a second coat but he said no need to sand being i bought a high quality paint. so the one coat that he painted now peels off easily which means at some point i have to redo the whole paint job. i could go on and on...like the handicap support bar that was installed and is now coming out of the wall. can't use it at all. B&T remodeling should change their name to B&S.

Of the 3, Building Concepts presented the most comprehensive proposal for a complete job. The owner, Jim Kirtopoulos, was always prompt, professional, innovative and realistic in his dealings with us. The Building Concepts proposal was not the low bidder but included everything required for a truly finished "turn key" project in contrast to the other Contractors who left flooring, finishing, HVAC, & electrical work, etc...up to us. Given some COVID19 supply chain delays, Jim was very flexible and forthright with the impact on the build schedule...suggesting some really great options based upon prompt availability. He designed a clever and very functional accommodation to the floor plan for an automatic "Doggie Door" with landing and ramp. His construction team and sub-contractors (Electrician/HVAC/Gutter & Downspouts) were all really good folks to deal with. I expected General Contractor level service. That is not what I experienced. Strohmeirer had no…read moreknowledge installing waterproof vinyl plank flooring. He and his son installed it anyway without proper leveling subfloor between two rooms. Independent flooring company estimated I will have to remove kitchen cabinets to correct builder's errors. Strohmeirer had no opinion regarding all aspects of addition when I requested input. He generally responded by shrugging. Any observations of inferior work progress I brought to his attention were answered with "I didn't do it". Subcontractors appeared to not be scheduled in a timely manner as expected as part of general contractor job responsibilities. Strohmeirer was always polite and did respond to texts and phone calls in a timely manner. He also did negotiate cost of aspects of job throughout the project fairly when confronted. Any work I requested correction to were corrected except flooring as described above.
