Tucked away just outside of Stroudsburg Cherry Creek Hideaway truly lives up to its name. A hide away from the world, a hideaway from the chains, a hideaway from the fast paced life. Walking through the doors we felt immediately at home. The atmosphere is warm, charming and genuinely inviting it strikes a raw violence between cozy and elevated what I call an upscale, mom and pop spot, especially since the owners are hands-on present, and it surely shows in the care they put into the place. The staff was just as personable. Our server was not only attentive, but took the time to chat with us about the area and even gave us a couple laughs with some stories of the locals. This is truly a place for travelers and the community. We didn't order full entrées this time just a basic chicken sandwich and a burger, which were decent, but not particularly memorable. unfortunately I don't feel like we got the full picture of what the kitchen can do, especially watching the steaming stromboli walk past our table. After reading other reviews, I feel like we lost out by not ordering one of those famous pizzas or well-thought-out entrées. That said I don't think it would be fair to judge this place based entirely on our simple sandwiches. What I will base this review on is not just the meal but the atmosphere and hospitality. Cherry Creek Hideaway is the place that makes you want to come back and stay a little longer. Next time for a proper dinner for sure. So if you were in the area and looking for a spot with heart charm and a welcoming feeling like you're a regular even if it's your first time, Cherry Creek Hideaway is worth a visit. We saw this place on Yelp and decided to stop by to order our lunch to go. We were welcomed when we first walked in, and directed to go to the bar area to place all to orders. The restaurant felt very welcoming. My husband ordered a pizza half with pepperoni and half with just cheese, we both thought it was too doughy for our taste, and I ordered an original calzone. It was delicious, tastes like a huge garlic knot, filled with garlic, the only downfall was that it needed at least another scoop of the ricotta cheese mixture. I would definitely buy that again and ask for extra filling. When our order was ready, the only thing that gets us, is when asked if we want to leave a tip, a tip for what??? All the girl did was take our order and give it to us. Made us feel obligated. If I knew we had to give a tip, we would have just eaten there. Over all , we will try the place again on another dish, not the pizza. The do have a nice pavilion behind the restaurant for shows, which seems to be a nice addition. read more

We haven't been here in almost five years, since we moved. The family went here for a birthday lunch yesterday, and I'm happy to say it was still very good! I knew I wanted my beloved sriracha honey wings and they were still as good as I remembered. The Asian salmon salad was very good and so was the seafood Fra Diavlo, stuffed shells, and Irish coffee! While out of town stopped in at this bar. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I walked in and sat at the bar. Sandy was my bartender, and she was nice. I started with a vodka martini, and it was good. For my meal, I got the seafood scampi. It came out after about 15 minutes. When I dug in it was very good! I liked the flavors a lot! The first problem was the special board still said Prime Rib from the night before and the waitress didn't say anything when one of us ordered it...she came back and informed us. The waitress should know the special before approaching the table. The house salads that three of us got were so lame, The rolls were good...The burgers were really dry and just bad, fries ok, but for the price, sad. Two others got parmigiana dinners, they seemed to like them, but they looked bad, these were two 80 year old women so of course they liked them. The one big entree ordered was the ahi tuna dinner and it was enjoyed , although the asparagus was undercooked. The food came out at different times as well. I couldn't believe they couldn't make a moist burger for $17, mine obviously sat on the grill off to the side for 5-10 minutes before they decided to pull it and send it out. I visited Cherry Creek for lunch with two friends and we were all amazed. We all had burgers and they were amazing. They make their own horseradish sauce, which is savory and not sweet, and was absolutely delicious. The eight-ounce burgers were also perfectly cooked. The appetizers were equally amazing: The beer battered onion rings came with sauce options (on the side), and we chose a phenomenal house-made chipotle lime that had a nice kick at the finish. Again, it was savory and fantastic. We also purchased home made perogies of cheese and potato that reminded me of the ones my grandmother had made. Finally, the house salad was perfect in a wonderful bleu cheese dressing. Both owners visited our table to take our order and bring us our meal, and they were kind, professional, and excellent. The ambiance is clean and inviting, and the bathrooms were some of the best I have seen at any restaurant - complete with an automatic garbage can. Dined tonight with my husband. Such a comfortable place. Good music and top-notch waitress. Salads we're great and we enjoyed the bread. I had the lobster Mac and cheese for the first time. I couldn't wait to get it and pictured large chunks of lobster tail or claw. My image was wrong. Very small pieces of lobster were stringy and fishy tasting. I'm not sure what part of the lobster they were even from. I'd stick with the regular Mac and cheese. It was much more enjoyable. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Spaghetti was more angel hair, too thin for the heavy meatballs. He said the meatballs were good but the sauce a bit acidic. We're looking forward to trying other foods on the menu. read more

We sincerely hope that this superior Italian restaurant will weather the rough economic times that America is presently going through. I wanted to like this but I didn't enjoy any part of it except that the waiter Jeff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the pierogies sautéed with butter and onions however they were soggy and limp laying in a bowl of butter and undercooked onion. I ordered pasta primavera with a garlic, onion and white wine sauce - he asked if I wanted soup or salad (which I assumed came with it then if he asked) so I ordered the French onion soup. This was atrocious! Absolutely inedible! The onions were barely cooked, the broth didn't even resemble a beef flavor and the tiny bread pieces were so bland and they weren't toasted. I ate what I could out of it and hubby finished the rest cause we felt bad leaving the full bowl. When I get the bill I see it was a $3.00 charge! I was ticked, I totally would've sent it back cause it shouldn't have been eaten by humans. And finally my pasta primavera....thank God I wasn't driving home cause I could've gotten a DUI, that wine sauce wasn't even shared with another flavor. You tasted only white wine - could not even taste the garlic or the veggies or the penne it came with. I boxed up more than half and had propped up my bowl so that the sauce drained to the other side of the bowl. My husbands burger & fries were good but I'm not risking this again for the price. We stopped here for a late lunch after spending the morning at Bushkill Falls and checking out the Delaware River Viaduct on a weekend trip to the Lehigh Valley. Not familiar with the area, I used Yelp to find this place. The menu includes options for meat-eaters, vegetarians, and children, all at reasonable (if not cheap) prices, a mix that can be hard to find. Kids under 12 eat for free on Sundays (with an adult meal, up to 2 kids, must dine in). I got the bacon cheeseburger with horseradish sauce ($12 w/fries & 2 pickle slices), and it was AMAZING. The bun was toasted but soft inside and the burger was cooked exactly as I asked. The fries were crispy and hot. The only negative was the unsweetended iced tea, which tasted bitter, but that could be specific to that particular batch of tea. Although there are vegetarian options (a black bean burger, portobello burger, and pizzas), my husband got 2 apps for his meal: the onion rings w/sweet Thai chili sauce ($5 for a basket full) and handmade pierogies sauted with butter & onions ($6 for 6 or 8). He thought the onion rings could have been cut thicker, but I tasted them and liked them. The sweet Thai chili sauce was spicy to me (I'm a hot sauce lightweight) and mild to him (he's likes super hot chilis), but we both agreed it tasted good. He and our son liked the pierogies (I didn't try them). Our 11 yr old got the kids' mac 'n cheese. We expected the blue box, but it was made of spiral noodles and a tasty, thick white cheese sauce. He liked it, and he can be picky. The other kids' menu items are the usual: chicken tenders, grilled cheese, and a few other things I can't remember but are standard kids' fare. They had a basket of free Easter candy for kids at the front door. The bathroom was clean, smelled nice, and had name brand hand lotion available, which was a nice touch. The dining area is small but decorated elegantly with fabric tablecloths and napkins. There's a bar area that I only glanced, but appeared to be a more casual atmosphere than the formal dining area. Our only complaint and the only thing that makes me rate this with 3 instead of 4 stars is that service was slow. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating, but it looked like she was the only one working the front. We were there on a Sunday around 2 pm, probably not a busy time, so that may be why there wasn't more staff. Only 4 tables were used the whole time we were there. But, we waited a really long time for our drinks and then for our food, especially considering how few customers were there and how simple our order was. Overall, the food was good and we were happy. If we lived near here, I would support this local restaurant with my repeat business. read more

My almost husband and I go there once, twice a week. We have never been disappointed! The staff are super friendly, the owners l, Tom and Maureen, are always present and pleasant, the cook knows exactly what he's doing. We look forward to the specials as we are always excited to see what they have come up with! The nachos are delicious, the tuna always cooked right, the hot and sour shrimp soup will leave you wanting another bowl, their version of deep fried deviled eggs impressed us! The bartended Sandy is always a pleasure as well. You can't go wrong stopping in. Anything you order will be a delight, the mood is always inviting, and I did notice a couple complaints about the quickness of the staff but in my book, if you want real home cooked food served to you, it may take a few minutes longer. Took a day trip to beautiful Stroudsburg and stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Kids eat free on Sundays, which is a very good value for the food you get! Their kids Mac N Cheese was delicious and enjoyed by our 22 month old. I had their Swiss and mushroom burger--SO good! Fries are delicious and crispy. My husband had the Reuben sandwich and he really enjoyed it. Great bread, cheese, everything was full of flavor. Staff was very pleasant and the restaurant is very clean (including the bathrooms). It has a really nice and spacious bar area too, if you are looking for a comfortable place to relax. Beer and wine selections look good, although we did not partake in alcohol for this visit.
