I dislike her tone/attitude and just sets the mood for the entire appointment or phone call. Like others mentioned, you can stand there starring and there is no acknowledgement. I understand if you're on the phone, and can't put the phone down to talk to me (common sense). A simple smile or hand gesture to say it will be a minute would suffice and go a long way. Still trying to figure out if it's worth dealing with the front desk staff in order to have a good doctor.

She was so young I just thought maybe growing pains? Maybe we needed to buy better shoes? Nowhere in my mind did I think something was really wrong. In the 4th grade we knew we needed to see someone and went to a Pediatrician in Bakersfield. Right away she saw there were multiple joints swollen and that we definitely had to get her to a specialist at Children Hospital Madera. Within a very short time they got us in and we were making the trip up to see Dr. Arce. From the moment we met him we felt at ease. He instantly started talking directly to our daughter, he was gentle, compassionate and really listened to everything she said. He saw pitting in her nails and multiple joints with redness and swelling. He ordered multiple test right away, and quickly she was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. I would have never thought my 4th grade daughter would Have RA. This began our 8 year relationship with Dr. Arce. We made trips to Madera every couple months and we never complained. We all loved him and he helped her so much. I will never forget when he had the talk with us about finding a Rheumatologist in Bakersfield. She was going to be 18 and he is a Pediatrician. We all were so sad and I actually cried the last time we saw him. He helped my daughter so much. I know he is working out of a clinic in Reedly now, I think he still might see kids at Childrens. Just recently my daughter said she wanted to write him a letter, she is now 21. She wants to thank him for all he did for her. Unfortunately she never found a Doctor that measured up to Dr. Arce. We did see supposedly see the best in Bakersfield, he is in the room for a minute, you can't get an appointment and he doesn't listen to what you are saying. So Dr. Arce if you read this, you are amazing! We thank you for the incredible care you gave our daughter and we will never forget you.

I chose this pediatrician while I was pregnant with my son who is now a year old. I wanted to wait before I wrote a review. His doctor is Dr. Jean Russel, she is amazing and I chose her during my pregnancy because of her knowledge and experience under her belt. I wanted someone with experience so I wouldn't have to worry about anything if the occasion arises. I.E, major surgery. I am more than pleased with her, however, for the year that my son has been going, he has only seen her twice. Now, my son has been seen by nurse practitioners (NP). My only complaint about the NP is the one I had a bad experience, I'm a parent I not only have high standards and expectations but she was fairly young, judgemental with tone and glances and my husband and I. Comparing the information she gave me to what another np that I absolutely admire Natasha and Dr. Russel was off-putting. She also nitpicked at every little thing, he is a child and children are messy, what can we do? My other complaint that has been not resolved but nothing major anymore was the looks and stares we received as a family for the first few visits. We are a young interracial couple, this is our first born so we have medical. The stares were as if we shouldn't be there and the tone of voice used toward us as if we were children. When I say we are young we are in our 20's. It wasn't just the front staff that gave us this may be unintentional feeling but the medical assistants as well. I believe all it took was a positive attitude, politeness, and patience for them to open up. Now everyone is very sweet and responds well to my family and me. Overall, I think this is probably the best pediatricians office I have heard of and experienced. Other mothers have complained about their pediatricians and I am grateful. They are also very prompt on calling back and answering phone calls. I love that there are two waiting rooms, one for ill children and another for well children. The on-call nurse will always call you back and if she's not there a NP or DR will give you a call instead and they are very helpful. They are also open on Saturdays for ill children if it's urgent. They will always try their very best to get you the soonest appointment as possible. They care about children and that's what I appreciate.

I was looking on Yelp for a doctor in Fresno because I had an abscess on my leg, but came here because it hurt and I wanted to get it treated. I got in and seen SUPER fast. Dr. Narayan was so nice, talked me through the whole procedure and I barely felt any pain. He answered all my questions and really took care of me. I brought my daughter later for a fever and he got me back straight out of the waiting room as soon as we walked in and took care of her and diagnosed her with bronchalitis or something lol, Im not sure the name. Anyways he went and took her temperature himself and put tylenol in a syringe and gave it to her instead of waiting for the nurse, and even connected a machine to give her medicine. I really liked the attention he paid and how fast the whole service was. There are other doctors there too! I need to have my dad come here.

But after calling a few places in Visalia and the wait times up to 3 hours I decided to take my son to Mountain View Medical. Very happy with the entire visit. I was in & out with 30 minutes. It is small but it was clean & well kept. The staff was nice & helpful not only on the phone when I called about availability but also when I got there. Most importantly, the PA was great! So knowledgeable, kind, didn't rush us, answered questions, very thorough. I definitely will be using this location for all unexpected medical needs. Side note: my son is feeling much better.

I have mixed feelings. We've been with CPG for almost 8 years now…read more Very easy to get an appointment. Hard to get through the phone lines. Some NP's pay attention and give a great level of care, some...you're just another name on the list. There is no longer a sick area waiting room. You have newborns and infants with no immune system in the same area as sick children. It takes me 6 or 7 phone calls to get my daughters monthly prescription refilled. I have to practically beg. She runs out every month and we're stuck waiting, at minimum, weeks in between fills because for whatever reason...they won't send her refill in! This alone has made me decide we will probably be switching to another pediatrician. Referrals take months. Paperwork is never ready in a timely manner. Everything but scheduling visits is such a headache and frustrating. Unfortunately since we've been patients here, the attention to detail, urgency, and patient care has only gotten worse year after year. For new parents, I would avoid.

I have recommended to many times her but I do let them know some downsides. it does take a while to get to you BUT I have learn it's from the 1:1 time she takes for each patient. She isn't making you wait forever and see's your kid under 5 mins. Your appointment takes a while in the room because she is always willing to answer questions. So if its a while til she gets to your kid just think she is not quick to diagnose. 2 Wednesdays she is rarely open that leads to limited availability. 3 it's hard to get in for sicknesses because she is the only doctor and she doesn't have a NP or PA to help it's just her. However, if you call sometimes there are cancellations. The girls sometimes even call you back like hey I know you called earlier I got a cancellation. I have left messages for doctor that lead to needing to make an appointment but sometimes she is willing to do a telemedicine appointment but those are rare & although they are convenient I love that she doesn't have want to guess. I'm so glad I changed my son to her because it's just been life changing. I know I said downfalls but they are in someways strong points. Ive been to over offices with different pediatricians and she is by far the best in Porterville. I also want to add my son is on the spectrum and she gets in the floor with him to make him feel comfortable and goes at his pace. Explains everything to him. They have developed and trusting relationship not just her but the staff. My son wouldn't event want to go inside or let them do anything to now he lets them die almost anything. Shots not so much but what kid wants shots?!
