I waited to see if the pain would subside, but it continued, so I googled dentists and found Dr. Daniel Haeussner on Yelp. Called and talked to Kara, who was so kind a welcoming and they fit me in the same day to see what was going on. Everything from their lovely office, to their friendly staff, to their service was top notch. Kim, my dental assistant, quickly put me at ease and assured we'd address what the issue is as she took X-rays and made me comfortable. Dr. Haeussner came in and let me know everything looked good in the X-ray. He asked if I had been stressed lately (who hasn't!? But my job has been very stressful lately) and thought I may be grinding my teeth. He asked if I had also been experiencing headaches, which last week I had terrible headaches, so much so I got a Covid test just to be sure! He did a bite test, and even when I thought there is no way this pain is coming from grinding, he was sweet and did another one just to ease my concerns. He recommended a warm compress and anti-inflammatory. I could not believe this was causing this sort of pain, so I was so relieved to hear the news! I thought for sure I needed emergency filling or root canal. My dad is a dentist in Michigan and so this was my first experience outside of family. Dr. Haeussner assured me there were no major concerns and I appreciated his honest, sincere compassion with the situation. Funny enough, we laughed how my dad is also named Daniel, and I saw the Dr. Dan of St. Augustine. Anyone who is looking for a dentist, look no further! We used to go to another clinic (actually I have tried several) and always felt like i was dealing with used car salesmen with constant upsells and un-needed "treatment plans". A while back another clinic told my husband he needed a crown for a sore tooth or otherwise he would need a root canal. We went here (because they were significantly less for a crown than other place) and Dr. David did xray and said, You ALREADY HAD a root canal, it is fine, you just need some sensitive toothpaste, and that took care of. Talk about being honest! My husband is disabled and the staff is always kind and helpful in getting him accomodated and transfered around. Quite happy.

Nothing like having your wisdom teeth pulled, then pulling fragments of your tooth out through bloody sutures yourself two days later. I can't say I was terrified of going, but certainly wasn't looking forward to it. Since I got great health and dental insurance through work, and based on recommendations, the wife made me an appointment at Dr. Haeussner's office. SO glad she did, and SO glad I went. It's a little hard to find the place, but once you walk in the building, it's clean, organized, bright, and filled with great employees. I didn't have to wait long before I was brought back to start taking x-rays and get prepared for my checkup and cleaning. The lady quickly took all my x-rays, and I was stunned to see everything is now digital. No more sitting around waiting for the x-rays to develop before they tell you to do it again, it just pops right up on the monitor- very cool. I knocked out 5 x-rays in about 10 minutes, and we were all set for the checkup. Dr. Haeussner came in- introduced himself, we talked teeth for a bit, then he went in to check everything out. Very gentle, very professional, and let me know that I was in pretty good shape aside from a desperate need of a cleaning and a little patch on a filling. We shook hands, and I proceeded on with the cleaning from another lady who was very, very good. A little painful, but it was my first cleaning in probably 15 years. My mouth felt like a million bucks after it was all over.... it's been a few weeks, and my mouth still feels super clean and SO much healthier. I had to go back a few weeks later for the touch up on the filling. A little drilling and smoothing, but absolutely no pain, and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I LOVE this guy! Does anybody really enjoy going to the dentist? No. But you might as well go to the best and keep your teeth and mouth happy. Dr. Haeussner and his staff are definitely top notch, and I'm highly recommending him for anyone in the St. Augustine area. Very friendly and professional staff- they will take care of you and your family, whatever your dentistry needs are. Definitely glad we got the recommendations and decided to stop here, and I will be back every 6 months for my cleanings.

I had a couple cavities that I just got filled 30 minutes ago, I had to run to Yelp to rave about it! Who raves about getting fillings? This was the most pleasant experience a patient could have during this procedure. Dr. Yang is professional, sweet, and his expertise was over-the-top evident. I didn't even feel the Novocaine injections. That takes some skill, because at previous dentists (across the street from them...) it felt like some sort of medieval stabbing and hammering at my teeth and hurt so bad. I didn't feel a THING with Dr. Yang and he drilled and filled two adjacent cavities way back in my mouth. His bedside manner is calming and his assistant was on top of everything and they had a nice rapport together. The place has a nostalgic family feel with state of the art modern tools and equipment. That's the best part about family practices. Couldn't recommend this place more!

So the tooth was pulled and a bone graft was put in its place. I had to wait 6 months before the implant could be installed. 6 months later I went in and was told I needed to have a special xray taken by a different dentist at a cost of $195. When the results of the xray were sent to Dr. Santiago, he told me he would have his receptionist call me the next day and set up an appointment for the implant. The next day the receptionist called and said that Dr. Santiago said I needed to call a certain dentist to have the implant finished. No explanation why even though he had already been paid for some of the work. He didn't have the courtesy to explain to me what the problem was and why he couldn't do it. I don't believe any doctor should treat a patient this way espcially when the cost of the procedure was so high. I would never recommend Dr. Santiago to a friend. EVER.

But probably the deal breaker was that for a routine check up after the dental part of the appt. we would've had to wait SIX MONTHS for a cleaning. We've NEVER run into this kind of arrangement in our collective 140 year experience. One explanation, we thought, was that they couldn't hire or retain enough dental hygienists. And why is that? Are there not enough dental hygienists in St. Augustine, or does the practice not pay them enough or otherwise provide a miserable working experience? Who knows, and really we don't care. We are tired with tolerating drama anywhere for whatever reason, so we're going back to our "old" dentist in Orlando. We got two appts. about 10 days out from contacting them. The appt. includes a cleaning.

Not only was the doctor fantastic but her staff was also over the top fabulous. They put you at ease right from the get go. I had a root canal and had not one single bit of pain including the initial shot. I am extremely sensitive to needles and I have to be honest and tell you that I did not feel even the smallest iota of pain from Dr. Tyler. She is a magician and a talented physician and I can not recommend her highly enough.
