Someone getting the same tattoo before me by someone else showed me theirs and it was thicker than I'd expected. Sylvie saw my reaction, reassured me. Needless to say, I love it lol. I hadn't gotten a tattoo in over a decade and it was almost painless considering there wasn't that much fat there. I got my philtrum pierced by Oren & I couldn't be happier with my experience. They made me feel extremely comfortable, explained the process in detail, & was very thorough with aftercare instructions. Oren is passionate about what they do & it shows in the amount of care they put into the service. Aly, the apprentice, even lent me their hand to squeeze during the piercing since I came alone-I thought that was so sweet! The shop itself is very clean & aesthetically pleasing, usually I've found tattoo/piercing shops to be a bit intimidating but Cherry Bomb is very welcoming & unpretentious. I posted this on Google but I had to post my review here too. I want this place to be 10x more successful than it already is So I had my appointment at Cherry Bomb with Rocky almost 2 months ago. I waited to do this review for a reason. First of all, I genuinely have so much respect for the ladies here and adored meeting them. They were so chill which honestly helped me feel relaxed too. I loved talking with them and I felt 1000000000% assured that I came to the right spot. I knew I was in good hands. Secondly, I will recommend this place to everyone and anyone. Back in January I got my nose pierced with a small stud. I went to a place called Hectors that is very well known in the Bronx and suuuuuper affordable (if you know, you know). I know people that went there for several piercings of all kinds and they all had good things to say. Even my own sister goes there and all her piercings have always healed really well. So after an awhile, I thought I could trust this place. I regretted it instantly. My piercer was so rude and such a brute. I got red flags the moment I felt an insane amount of pain from it. Literally after he pierced me, he roughly shoved a soaked cotton ball up my nose. It hurt so bad. My face actually went numb from the pain that lasted me half the day. Not to mention the jewelry they used was a corkscrew ring and those are horrible!!! Literally a month in, I started growing a bump on my nose. Turned out I was severely allergic to the metal they used and the antibiotic spray they sold me, I honestly felt didn't do anything. Overall, not a good experience with them. Late February, my jewelry got stuck to my towel while I was drying my hair and it came out. It hurt a lot. So waited for the bump to heal and then in March I went to get my nose piercing re-pierced at Cherry Bomb. When I tell you my experience was like night and day!!! Hectors should take note on how Cherry Bomb works cause my god. I was even allowed to choose my jewelry. For me? The price was so worth it because the experience was a 10/10. I won't lie, I mainly waited to write this review because I was slightly traumatized from my first experience and waited to see how my piercing would heal. It's been almost two months now and my nose looks so cute. Even the gem on the jewelry is still shiny af and didn't turn green like the corkscrew one did. Overall, I now have my new piercing shop and will definitely come back for all my future piercings (I may return in the summer tbh ), maybe even a tattoo. Rocky took such good care of me and was very careful. The pain was WAY less than the first time and within 10 minutes the stinging stopped. Like I said, night and day. She placed it with expert care, checked with me to make sure I liked it, and glued it with just enough glue that it's super stable without feeling like it was too much. I came here for a scar camouflage tattoo to cover up a very light tattoo on my foot which has turned into an absolute nightmare. After the first session, I was left with a tattoo that did not match my natural skin tone at all. The following week, I went in to get it touched up and the artist applied a "whip fade" technique around the surrounding skin which was then several shades too dark and made the area even more obvious. I went in a couple weeks later to get it removed with saline which has not been effective. The healing process has taken a while and I've barely seen any improvement. I normally never leave reviews but want to warn anyone who is looking to get this type of tattoo here. Obviously, there are some people who are very happy with their experience but I wish I had gone to someone more experienced and knowledgeable about scar camouflage. The owner was very accommodating and refunded me for the tattoo but unfortunately it doesn't make up for the permanent damage to my skin and the emotional trauma caused by it. I have not been able to wear sandals / open toed shoes and don't know if this can ever be removed. I would advise people to do their research carefully and think twice about coming here for scar camouflage. read more
