It's where we dined on our honeymoon and we'll be coming back for years to come. We stopped in a couple of times on this trip. The good - The smokehouse food is just what it should be! I mean, we really love this food. The first Cherry Old Fashioned. Made with care and good ingredients. The Meh - The service on Taco Tuesday. It felt understaffed and the server commented, "at least I'm not alone tonight". Very telling The Bad - The second Cherry Old Fashioned on a different night. Not good. It was Taco Tuesday and the Smokehouse felt understaffed. The drinks were just slammed together.

The fresh chips were nice and the pico was good but the combo of veiny, bony chunks of dry chicken with the sweet BBQ sauce and sour "cheese" made it inedible. I really wanted to like this place it's a great location and fun drive, the patio was beautiful, great beer selection and the service was excellent. Maybe the nachos are just a bad item and they have other good stuff. I wouldn't give it another try unless to grab a beer.

This restaurant was extremely popular and we had to wait 40 minutes for a table for 6 on a weeknight but my friends and I just put our names down and headed to a nearby brewery while we waited. Once our name was called, we were seated and served fairly quickly. We got a combo plate, the sausage appetizer, and nachos with brisket to share between 6 people. Of the combo plate, the pork belly was unanimously the best (extremely juicy and tender), followed by the ribs (tender, well made home style ribs), and finally the brisket (a bit dry). The sausage platter was okay but not as memorable as the other items we got. To note, even though the nachos are listed as an appetizer, they are HUGE and with the addition of brisket on top it was probably the equivalent to getting one of the main entrees for 2-3. We found that the brisket on the nachos were better as maybe it was fattier cut of the brisket or the cheesy helped. Additionally the cheese sauce was fantastic on the nachos and they were one of the highlights of the meal.

It boasts of barbecue style sandwiches and menu and this place was packed on a Friday at 3pm! Hosts looked like are the owners of the place made every effort to go above and beyond to seat the guests and look after them. They have the bar seating facing the kitchen where we occupied the last 2 seats remaining in the restaurant getting the live action right in front of us. We ordered the PBJ (pork belly jelly bites) and brisket cheese steak sandwich with jalapeno mac n cheese on the side. Both the dishes were amazing and we will surely stop by here again when in the area. The whole sassy sandwiches section look like a must try. Only thing we will try to avoid here is the desserts that were not bad at all but because we saw them being made in front of us now we know it is just assembled we may not order more of that. We got the huckleberry peach cobbler and banana pudding. Both the dishes aren't really made from scratch and had we not seen how they're assembled we may not judge it too harshly.

After getting a delicious beer we ordered the knachos (tater tot nachos) with smoked brisket and a pulled pork sandwich. HOLY MOLY. Who knew BBQ in Montana could be so good. The brisket on the nachos was juicy and flavorful. It came with beer cheese where there was an excellent balance of flavor and we loaded it up with jalapeños, onions and sauce. We especially loved the homemade Carolina mustard sauce and also enjoyed their BBQ sauce. The pulled pork sandwich came on a fancier hot dog type roll which was a new way for me to have a pulled pork sandwich and fabulous! Loaded up with the same toppings this melted in our mouths. Paired with a SunRift beer and live music on a Saturday night = heaven. For a girl who doesn't eat a ton of meat this was SO worth it. Make an effort to come here from near and far please !
