    1/2 rack of ribs
    Mylan D.

I've had this place bookmarked for 3 years and when I finally got the chance to dig in, I was underwhelmed. I didn't see a smoker or a grill outside and that should've been a red flag for me. I did see an oven in their kitchen and it's pretty telling why the meat was so tender. My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich and he says it tasted like a pot roast sandwich. It didn't look or taste like it was smoked, rather pulled out of a crockpot. He also ordered the coleslaw which was sweet and the bacon corn. Bacon corn was good, but I was expecting more than just 1 little piece of bacon. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with baked beans and ribbon fries. Although the meat fell off the bone, it was also "wet" as if it's been steamed or sitting in a bag for too long. Baked beans were ok and the ribbon fries were like homemade potato chips. I should've asked, but I thought they would be regular fries. They have outdoor seating and a drive through window. Picnic tables had umbrellas which was nice for a hot day like today.

I was on my way to Glacier National Park and was driving through Polson and came here for lunch due to the high reviews. There is no indoor seating but there are outdoor seating and tables. There's also a drive through if you want to order something and go. I ordered the brisket sandwich ($11) with ribbon fries and bacon corn. I asked the worker if she recommended brisket or pulled pork and she said the former. The brisket is SO tender and fatty and juicy. The sandwich is just the bun, meat, and sauce which makes it simple but that way you can really get the full brisket flavor. I got the bold sauce which is said to be garlic with mild heat and although it was good it was not really spicy at all. The ribbon fries are good and crispy although some are not as crispy as others which were still really good. It was just really oily which shows in the paper bag they give it in. They also give a lot and I didn't finish the bag. The bacon corn was sweet and salty. This is a great lunch spot; just make sure you get there before the lunch rush!

Made a stop here on the way around Flathead Lake. Cute spot! Lots is picnic table seating. Some have umbrellas for shade. It also has a drive through. I got the Pit Salad (full-HUGE!). SO GOOD! And my husband got 2 sandwiches. The "fries" here are AWESOME! They are like potato chips! And the coleslaw has some dill in it, taking it to the next level of deliciousness! Really enjoyed it here! Would totally come back!

WOW! The meat for my chicken sandwich & ribs just feel off. It's was so delicious and my favorite sauce was the sriracha bbq. Also the huckleberry lemonade is a must! Cannot wait to come back here!!

I like to pick the top places on Yelp when passing through a town and needing to get lunch. I don't want to be disappointed and there's a reason that locals love these places. I was not only not disappointed by Cherrie's, I was blown away. The ribs were fantastic, as were the sauces (we had the Bold and the Smokey Maple.) The corn with bacon was my favorite side, and the beans, coleslaw, and fresh fried potato chips were close on the heels. We bought a lunch for two, and it was too much for the two of us, so we finished the rest to make a complete dinner. I don't know if we'll be back through Polsen ever again, but if we are, I'm going back to Cherrie's, for sure.

Gotta go! We stop in any time we're in Polson. Took a bike ride into town to have lunch again this summer.

Husband and I split the 3 meat plate (although we were tempted by the special-beef ribs on mashed potatoes). We had brisket (good and my favorite), pork ribs (fall off the bone good and tasty), pork belly (hubby said it was good since it isn't my thing). For our sides we had collard greens (we fought over those they were so good), bacon Mac (creamy and smokey), and corn bread (so glad we each had our own serving of that or there would have been bloodshed). That cornbread was the best I have had at a restaurant in ages. Staff were on it. They were personable and friendly. Kitchen staff--wow. It was awesome to watch the magic and teamwork happening in the very small wizard's workshop. Thank you for the great night and the leftovers.

It almost feels like you're in a mineshaft or an antique store, which I thought was awesome. We are immediately greeted with a very friendly smile and told there were seats at the bar (the restaurant was packed, another good sign). A few minutes go by and we're still standing at the check-in, and another couple comes in. They are greeted in the same way, offered seats at the bar, and are thusly ushered to their seats... while we were still standing there. Okay, few more minutes go by and we call out the table that was just cleaned, and we get seated. The menu looks phenomenal, and we ended up getting the meat combo to try everything. This is where it gets even worse. The barbecue itself took a while to get to our table, which would be fine if it wasn't cold. Yes, you heard correctly, the barbecue was all cold. Baked beans had to have been Bush's. Potato salad and Mac was good, same with the cornbread. But the main things we paid $60 for were cold. The ribs were beyond burnt, and the brisket was tough. Oh, and the single sausage we got was slathered in mustard and barbecue sauce, come to think of it everything on the plate was slathered in barbecue sauce. Usually not a good sign lol. I really wish I could say nicer things about this place but I unfortunately cannot recommend it to anyone. But hey, they're packed so maybe that's just the quality of the food around Kalispell. Her face went a bit white as I said 8. But it quickly went back to the smile as she replied "gimme just a minute." In about 5 minutes she had cleared the tables, set up ours, and had us seated. The food arrived promptly and was exactly as ordered, and very good. Only suggestion, coffee was weak. But then, I like strong coffee; it should stand up to a spoon. Five stars all around. We especially loved the homemade Carolina mustard sauce and also enjoyed their BBQ sauce. The pulled pork sandwich came on a fancier hot dog type roll which was a new way for me to have a pulled pork sandwich and fabulous! Loaded up with the same toppings this melted in our mouths.
