Buyer Beware - Cherokee Golf Carts I feel it's important to warn others about my experience with Cherokee Golf Carts. Last April, I purchased a cart from them. Almost immediately (next day after referencing my emails ), I had to send it back because it wasn't holding a charge and kept losing power, even when fully charged. When it was returned to me, it still had the same issues. I asked to return the cart for a refund within a reasonable time, but they convinced me to allow them to attempt repairs--three separate times. Despite giving them multiple chances to make it right, the problems persisted. They continued to string me along well beyond a six-month period, even after I requested a refund. Over the past two days, I was stranded twice because of the same unresolved issues. I contacted them again to return the cart, but they refused to offer any real assistance. Their only offer was a trade, citing that they had put "too much money into the cart"--a cart they knowingly sold me with serious problems. For context, the cart was listed for over $8,000, but they let me walk out paying $5,000. That alone should have raised a red flag, but shame on them for selling a defective product. It's worth noting the cart had only one previous owner who also only kept it for a year. After sharing my experience on my community Facebook page, I received several responses from others who have had similar experiences with this business. Bought a cart from these guys back in 2021. I have had no performance issues with the cart except for some rattling that occurs when driving it around town. I had a 4-seater previously, which was quite a bit quieter than the 6-seater I have now. I have thought that maybe the rattling is just part of having a 6-seater. Regardless, it isn't a big enough deal for me to try to have it diagnosed & repaired. Aside from that (to be fair I have never even mentioned to the folks at Cherokee Carts) I have no complaints. From a service standpoint, I haven't serviced the cart with them so I can't speak to that side of the customer experience; however, I did go through the misery of applying for a low-speed vehicle tag. Jim put me in touch with Kim and she got me exactly what the DMV needed to issue title. Took 18 months, but not because Cherokee Carts wasn't responsive. Each time I asked them for something, they provided it to me within 3 days time. Just a heads up, if you plan to put a tag on your cart, request the certificate of origin be for a low speed vehicle, make sure they fill out the transfer information on the back of the certificate of origin including their dealer number and that it is signed by their authorized signatory. read more

If I could give them a rating of minus 100 I most certainly would. PLEASE before you buy from them....DON'T! We bought a 2025 Royal from Cherokee Golf Carts a few months back and about 2-3 weeks out we started having issues. At first just a few easy things that could be repaired, and they did send someone from the manufacturer out. Bolts missing that connected the top on to the cart. We let that slide. Simple mistake. They about a week later when breaking a terrible screeching noise. Sounded just like bad breaks. They once again sent out a guy from the manufacturer and "supposedly" replaced brake pads and the rotors. Mind you this is on a brand new 2025. That didn't fix it. Took in for repairs again they said they fixed it. A few days later noise was back. Sent in for repairs again and they kept our cart for 7 weeks. Said they replaced brakes, etc. and within a week (maybe a full hour of me driving it within a few days) the same noise again! Jason, one of the owners keeps telling me it's all "user error" and that he cant help me with user error! USER ERROR Jason says! I drive it in my sub-division. On pavement. I do not ride the breaks! USER ERROR?!?!?!?! Jason is dont with it because it's user error!! ??? NO, ITS BECAUSE YOU ARE A CON-ARTIST AND WON'T FIX IT! I am livid. Not only is it making the same noise it's now making an addition noise coming from back of the cart. Sounds like it's about to fall apart. I am not sure if it's the breaks or something worse because they will NOT take responsibility! 12K we paid! So we are stuck with a cart that I doubt we can even sell. THEY ARE TERRIBLE! When we first got to Cherokee, Matt the Sales guy spray painted a gold cart we were looking it because my husband noticed scratches on it. Spray pained right in front of us. That should have been our out but me being me I wanted a cart that day, so we stayed and purchased the one we now have. We picked out another one but Matt the sales Manager called and said hey I found a better cart on our showroom floor that you will like alot better for $500 more. Super unprofessional. Subscribed to their Facebook page, for them to share their political views and bad grammar, which is a bad look for marketing. Upon commenting that posting politics isn't a good look for business, they commented back just ASSUMING what I believe in. I will make sure to share with everyone I know why I think no one should do business here. They made sure to let me know they only want certain business. read more

I bought a ambassador utility and it would get stuck on a gravel driveway or some leaves. The suspension is hard and the steering was hard. I had the cart over night and tried to return it the next morning. They would not take it back and threaten to take me to court if I stopped payment . read more

Deceptive and Disappointing Experience with Cherokee Golf Carts. Buying from Cherokee Golf Carts was one of the worst experiences we've had. I negotiated a specific deal for a 2024 Ambassador cart, drove 35 mins each way to inspect the exact model I wanted, shook their GMs hand and paid in full. What followed was a nightmare. First, we received a different cart with unauthorized modifications, only to discover it wasn't even the 2024 model we purchased--it was from 2022! Without our consent, they swapped carts, replaced wheels, and changed features. When we raised issues, we never got a straight answer on what they were trying to pull. To try to "make this right", they delivered another cart (a 2023 model) which still wasn't what we paid for. This cart broke down the next day due to a battery failure on Halloween night leaving my family stranded. We also had to paid a wrecker to tow it back to our house. They took the cart back and gave me a refund but this day, no one at Cherokee Golf Carts has taken responsibility or provided a clear answer about the cart we actually paid for or apologized. This business is dishonest, evasive, and lacks in any basic customer service. Actually downright illegal what they did.I would never recommend Cherokee Golf Carts to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and avoid them. read more

We're on our 2nd Royal EV. 1st one was a 6seater with 72V, which we decided we didn't need the 6 seater so we traded for the 4seater with lithium battery. We won't buy another for awhile. We bought both here in Cartersville at Cherokee Golf Carts which is close to the Royal factory. My sales and service experience here have been impeccable. We added a front receiver hitch so we can move our small trailer around in the backyard. So many benefits of having this cart. We got street tires instead of knobbys on the 2nd cart. We love our cart. We get 60 miles to a charge, probably more haven't pushed it (this is on big hills all around Cartersville; I got a sticker from the local police department so I can ride it anywhere on streets in the city where the speed.limit is 35 or less...it goes 30mph+). The folks at Cherokee are great. Our original sales manager was Rodger who is an outstanding sales manager and great person; Rodger has since moved on other personal opportunities, and was replaced by Lonnie as sales and store manager. Great guy, very knowledgeable (he was formerly at the Royal factory and knows what he is talking about) and helpful). The receptionist is also wonderful (sorry I didn't get her name but she is efficient and awesome!). Everyone there is pleasant, very customer service oriented, and a extremely easy to deal with. We looked at several other carts and stores but this one is the best in the metro Atlanta area. I HIGHLY recommend these folks. read more

Very dishonest company. I was basically scammed by them when I took my golf cart there for maintenance. I paid for one thing and what was installed was completely different. I was lied to from several employees. Think twice before going to this place. read more

If you visit the Yelp website this business has a 3/5 rating but the app shows a 5 star rating - odd. The three star rating is much closer to accurate. I stopped in with my family to casually look at carts. Within three seconds someone showed up to ask if I needed help and notified me I was looking at carts to be serviced. He pointed me in the direction of the new/used carts for sale. As he was walking in he said he would send out a sales guy. I politely asked him not to send a salesman as I was just browsing. He clearly heard me as he turned his head as he walked in. Within 30 seconds a sales man was headed towards me. I politely informed him I was just looking and would let him know if I needed help. Did this deter him, NOPE. He continued heading my way and started the sales process. I said once again politely that I was just looking and don't need help. By this time I was aggravated that I had to politely turn down a sales effort THREE separate times by two people, so I just left. I don't know if this experience is normal but it was worse than a furniture store or used car dealer. I get it, we all have to eat and they eat by selling carts. There comes a point where it is just pushy or just badgering. I won't be back and I will 100% buy a cart from another store..The odds are high it's a lost sale for them because of their tactics.
