A complete waste of a beautiful venue due to poor management, operations and staffing. I chose this location well over a year before our big day. The planning process seemed to be a breeze before things took a huge shift just weeks out from our wedding. 1) Communication was AWFUL. We were handed off to different staff members several times (Kristin to Michael to Karyn). We sent numerous texts and left ample messages with their receptionist, with no response until I threatened to speak with management. Not to mention, the day of coordinator did not review the details of our contract and failed us miserably on wedding day. 2) They were completely understaffed, and unequipped for the size our wedding (175 guests). Paid floral was missing. Drapes were thin, and not properly hung during ceremony. Tables were not set up. Estate + Bride & Groom table missing chargers. Their champagne chart was broken and not set up for our reception. The food during cocktail hour and the reception was cold. Our signature drinks were made incorrectly. The grounds were not manicured at all and flooded with old leaves. 3) I sent a formal complaint detailing and itemizing everything from our contract left unfulfilled. The owners, Heather and Andrew, were completely dismissive and combative towards the concerns/complaints we expressed. We were put on mute several times during a call with them due to Andrew's irate behavior and commentary as Heather spoke. He snatched the phone, talked over us and hung up. Not once, but THREE times (See screenshots of my call log each time I dialed back). To say the least, I am in utter disbelief at how misleading and unprofessional this entire experience was. Thank God I hired my own wedding planner to assist throughout this entire process. Had it not been for her, her team and outsourced vendors, our wedding would've been ruined. She ran interference all day, brought in and added her OWN decor, and did ALL of the logistics. And if you're wondering.. no, we have not received our money back per the Failure to Perform Services clause in their contract for the unfulfilled items.

Attended a beautiful wedding here in late September, when the weather was bright, the humidity low and the temps a bit cooler than normal. Hiram is a good hike from the heart of Atlanta, but you can easily get here from around Atlanta in an hour or less. The wedding I went to was outside in the gardens. There's a lot they can do with the patio and gardens--dress it up with flowers, statues and drapes for a wedding, or dress it down with picnic tables and gingham tablecloths for a barbecue. This indoor banquet/event hall is just the right size for a variety of events and looks like it can hold 150-200 people comfortably. I liked how the place isn't huge and sprawling. It's a manageable size and even has a separate bar and patio area for getting drinks.

My mother has terminal cancer and we ended up having to get married a year earlier than we planned so we were stressing about finding a venue that could put together our dream wedding in 5 months. We almost settled and gave up on that dream wedding until we found The Cotton Gin. I still have no idea how they pulled it off so seamlessly. The Cotton Gin went above and beyond to make the whole day smooth for both my mom and us. When they say "all inclusive" they mean it. I did not lift a single finger for coordinating vendors, stressing about timing, or anything that usually causes stress for brides. I was calm the whole day and if any anxiety arose at any point in the process, the staff reassured me and was proactive in accommodating anything I needed. The owner Amanda is a creative genius and you can tell she loves what she does. Her goal is to give all brides a dream wedding that fits their budget. You can tell that she put careful thought into choosing staff that has the same passion and vision. Truly I feel like I made bonds with the staff that will last a life time. All of my guests gave extremely positive feedback about their experience! Also, the food was literally a 5 star dining experience. I am going to be craving their salmon and stuffed mushrooms for the rest of my life. I wish I could get married to my husband again and again so I can give The Cotton Gin more of my business!!

Staff was very calm and professional and kept the appetizers coming. Bar offered a lot of interesting drinks. The venue itself is gorgeous with very little of your own decorating needed. They literally took care of everything it seemed. Lots of places to take pictures. We had beef mashed potatoes and asparagus, which came out temperature hot and well seasoned. The shrimp and grits for the appetizer was delicious and the presentation of the cheeses was wonderful. A beautiful, intimate and cozy place with a couple levels, including a dance floor. I would highly recommend this place if you're interested in having a wedding reception.

"Unplugged Adventures helps build relationships between families, friends, and community through meaningful experiences at the farm; focusing on health, creativity, and deep nature connection. Our events and children's nature programs are intentionally designed to encourage you to slow down, unplug, and get outside. " This place hosts a nature school, kids camps, family hikes, an October pumpkin patch, Santa photos during December, and other special activities for kids. All the staff I've worked with have been wonderful, outdoors-loving folks who care about giving us a quality experience. THE PLAYGROUPS We've visited the playgroups that are designed for kids under 5. These are held in a delightful forest that's been set up with all just of suggestables for the kids: a painting space, dress-up clothes, dinosaur figurines, a mud kitchen (always a big hit), garden tools, climbing structures, a creek, and nature-focused storybooks and forest friend stuffed animals hidden around the area. Playgroups last 2 hours and are completely unstructured. The kids can choose what to do with their time and the adults usually chat about this or that. When visiting for playgroups, park at the top of the hill then walk down toward the sandbox and pavilion. Feel free to bring your picnic lunch for afterward! Simple bathrooms (with soap and a sink) are available.

Having our wedding at The Barn at Highpoint Farms was probably one of the best decisions we made…read more First off, I love that it is a family run business with generations of experience. They take pride in their venue and the personalized, thoughtful, and unique setting they provide. Margie has been planning weddings for years and her experience was incredibly helpful for us during the planning process as she asked questions and gave suggestions on things I never would have thought of without her! The Barn at Highpoint Farms offers SO much- first, they are a flower farm as well as a wedding venue. This means that we were able to use fresh cut flowers for our bouquets, table settings, ceremony décor, and got to take pictures in flower gardens that had the same flowers used for our wedding in them. The flowers were stunning, smelled and looked fresh, adding to the ambiance. The arrangements were well thought out and better than I could have imagined. Second, they offer some housing on site! Along with the ceremony space and the barn for the reception, there are two houses and a couple's tree house on site that you can rent for additional spaces to stay. We did a premium package where both houses and the tree house were included in our weekend. GREAT DECISION! This meant that we, plus our wedding party, had somewhere to stay Friday AND Saturday night that was right on site. Everyone commented on how much they loved that they didn't have to commute back and forth from a hotel, and that they got to enjoy the peaceful scenery of the farm all weekend. Plus no one was late or had any mishaps. We loved the venue so much that we had our rehearsal dinner there Friday night plus the wedding ceremony and reception there Saturday. It was so convenient and really reduced stress having everything in one place for the entire weekend. Finally, there is so much to do and see on the farm! It feels like a magical place, and they have done an excellent job of preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the farm. Everywhere you look there is a perfect photo opportunity, from flower gardens to old pickup trucks, to green houses and rustic barn doors. The venue has so much natural character and charm you really don't have to overdress it with décor and fluff which was a cost saver in the end. There are even horses, goats, cats, and dogs you can take pictures with offering unique photo opportunities. The two guest houses are comfy and stunningly decorated, Margie and family really have a great designer's eye, making them beautiful settings for getting ready photos as well as comfy places to stay all weekend. I could go on and on about The Barn at Highpoint Farms, but it'd be a book. Go tour the venue, you won't regret it. I highly recommend, it was the best decision we made in wedding planning.

Very accommodating! The view is stunning but Jill's ability with flowers and greenery was over the top! Everything she created (bouquets, table decor) was so very pretty. The arbor she decorated at the front of the aisle took my breath away and made a beautiful background for the pictures. Our guests loved the baby goats and the bonfire/corn hole area. It just added to the fun and enjoyment. I highly recommend this venue to anyone!l

Wow. Where do I begin? I thought I had things under control..then Hannah Guest entered the chat…read more First of all, she is so sweet and has a team of just as amazing employees. She checked in with me often, always reminding me about the little things and answering my endless questions. She kept all my vendors and I on track and ironed out pretty much any wrinkle before it could even exist. By wedding weekend she had already gathered every little detail from me (and believe me- I was very indecisive and back and forth on a lot of things) so not once did she have to ask me anything wedding related. She just told me where to go when and that's all I had to worry about. She and her team know exactly what they are doing and I'm pretty sure they know exactly what everyone else should be doing as well. I am an incredibly anxious person and she made my day carefree. When I say I didn't have to worry about a single detail wedding weekend...I mean it. She had everyone and everything so organized that I couldn't point out a single mishap on our wedding day. HIRE YOUR BEST GUEST. I couldn't finish this review without mentioning her amazing design work as well. I hired your best guest for my coordination, design and florals. I did not get to see my venue until I started walking down the aisle. I felt like I was walking into my Pinterest board. They NAILED my vision. It was even better than I could have ever imagined. It was so enchanted and beautiful. I cannot wait to get pictures back to stare at them. The amount of compliments we have received on how our venue was transformed from bare to something so beautiful is countless. Best of all, it didn't cost me my entire life savings (although Hannah and her team are certainly worth it). I thought I had it all together..but I don't know how I could have pulled it off without Your Best Guest.
