After…read moresending me to another dentist for five root canals with temporary fillings that subsequently are required to have crowns constructed by Dr. Chen that was not done even though I had many other visits to the office for other issues. As a result one tooth broke off entirely leaving the post that is inserted after a root canal extending from the root that then had to be removed by a dental surgeon. The side fell off another of the teeth exposing the post but it could be saved by another competent dentist who crowned the remaining three. As I said, this process took several years and many visits to Chen's office when the crowns were not done. The cost and damage were extensive and the responsibility to crown teeth after root canals requested by Chen was, and is, clearly his.

Dr. Murphy spoke with me over the phone while I was in debilitating pain and had the nerve to suggest that he would "fit me in tomorrow for a trigger point injection". I have always had a fear of dentist because of past experiences which were very painful. I researched top dentist in Maryland and I came across Dr. Kuzmak, Towson View Dental Care and decided to give them a call and make an appointment. I was very nervous about the visit because I had two broken teeth with only the roots left in my gums. Upon my arrival I was meant by a warm and welcoming staff. Dr. Kuzmack himself came out to the waiting area to greet me and to offer me a bottle of water. That definitely helped take the edge off. He explained everything to me before he began the procedure. I always brace myself for the initial needle stick and deep burning that follows from the Novocaine... However to my surprise Dr. Kuzmack pulls out a device that he uses in conjunction with the needles that massages your gums during injection which helped to alleviate any pain! I was totally taken back that I did not feel ANY pain the entire procedure. No pain from the needle or the root extraction. I saw two other dentists and was told that my tooth was fractured and needed to be extracted. I came to this office during their annual free extraction event expecting to lose the tooth. Dr. Andersen took the time to thoroughly evaluate the situation and wasn't convinced that extraction was the right answer. She determined that the "lesion" was actually a piece of bone protruding through the gum and removed it. Almost immediately, the pain that had been bothering me for weeks was gone. I am incredibly grateful not only because she found the real problem, but because she saved my tooth. Her knowledge, patience, and willingness to look deeper instead of rushing to remove the tooth made all the difference. Thank you, Dr. Andersen, for your exceptional care. I just moved to the area and my child doesn't have a dentist yet. Unfortunately he chipped a tooth so I came across this dentist because they say on their website they offer emergency care. However when they called they said they only way for me to get an appointment would be to make a appointment for a cleaning and full exam. Unfortunately it hasn't quite been six months since his last exam so I wasn't sure if my insurance would cover the cleaning yet. When I described the problem again they told me if I didn't do the cleaning I couldn't get an appointment until February. Obviously with a chipped tooth you shouldn't wait that long to receive any care--and honestly their staff should be telling people that so that the child's tooth doesn't get more damaged. I'm totally fine if they just didn't have an opening (and in fact we ended up finding a really nice office). However, I just think they should remove the claim from their website that they do emergency dental care because based on my conversation with them they basically don't.

The hygienist said the dentist was in a procedure while we continued waiting after the cleanings of the other 2, far beyond a reasonable amount of time. Our three appointments were at the same time and I'm not sure how another procedure could have been added in between them. More concerning was the mishandling of medical records afterward. When requesting my children's records to transfer care, the office repeatedly failed to send them correctly and ultimately sent another family's children's records to me, while sending some of my children's records to a different parent. This serious HIPPA violation was only acknowledged after I pointed it out myself. The combination of excessive wait times, poor communication, and careless handling of sensitive patient information made us lose confidence in this practice entirely.
