The garden had taken a setback and the gardens were not properly cleaned up prior to the rehearsal and also the day of the wedding. The grass did not appear to have been freshly cut, no fresh mulch and there were some dead bushes near the areas where guests would be attending near the front of the building. The building was wedding ready and everything was functioning well! The day of manager was great to work with and all vendors appeared to know the venue well. The guests also loved the old feel of the building and it gave such a nostalgic and magical theme. Our family will always remember this day at the Old Schoolhouse with such fondness!

We had the privilege of hearing directly from owner Paul Durant, who shared stories about his family's history, their settling in the Willamette Valley, and the pioneers of Oregon wine country. His passion for the land and commitment to sustainable and ethical farming came through the stories he told. The olive oils were hands down the best I've ever tasted. They have awards to prove they are one of the best in the world. Combined with the incredible wines, beautiful grounds, and warm hospitality, it made for an unforgettable afternoon. Learning the family's story while tasting the products they have poured generations of work into gave us a much deeper appreciation for everything they create. This is the kind of place you remember long after your vacation ends. I'm looking forward to the products being delivered to my home in Orlando!

Greg, our Wine Ambassador, was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the history of the property, the wine, the necessary steps to take to saber a bottle of sparkling wine safely, and made it such an amazing and fun experience for us. Then he brought us meat and cheese plates and our bottles of wine to enjoy. Everyone made us feel welcome and important. It's a very fun experience that lives up to the hype. So who knows how long that was there for. The floors were disgusting and not vacuumed, clearly! The bottom of my feet were filthy and needed to be washed off before going to bed. The walls had strange patch and paint jobs. This just showed how dirty the walls were. Just gross. Thank goodness I travel with extra security measures because the latch to the door was missing (see photo). However, the safe was secure! So secure it died and we couldn't get into it. We explained that there was time sensitive medication that needed to be taken in the morning, but they refused to call the emergency number to have someone come out that night. We also told them we needed to leave by 8 AM and they explained that the locksmith wouldn't be there until 9:30 AM. For as horrible as the owner was, the staff trying to help us was great! They did go the extra mile to help, but the owner put so many barriers in their way. The locksmith did get it unlocked by 11:30 AM. Breakfast was very poor. The toaster was nearly working and only toasted one side. The food wasn't put out on time and wasn't refilled. The pool was gross and a shade of green that you just don't see in nature. We didn't dare even go into the gym! Bottom line, don't believe what you see on line. That photographer deserves a raise!!! The good part was the window blackout shade. No light came through and that was awesome! The staff were sweet and tried their best.

That small bottle wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. The guy hosting us was friendly, welcoming, and informative. I hope to come back to try some of the wine.

UPDATE 7/9/25 Almost…read morehate to give this away because I think that the sale is only until they run out, but I want to share the wealth-- apparently a lot of their bottles are on sale this summer for $6.50 whites and $8.00 reds. This is older vintages and what looks to be wine from the label they just acquired (Firesteed I believe?) Great stuff, though, and hard to beat those prices! Also, the woman pouring for us on July 4th was absolutely lovely. Not only was she very warm and knowledgeable, she called me less than five minutes after I left to help me get my jacket and purse since I left them behind. Their little speakeasy room is a great spot to taste, as is the garden this time of year.
