Japan Creek Market is a fantastic market located in Henderson. You'll find them at Beltway Plaza on…read moreEastern and Serene. There's ample parking. Inside is small and clean. They have fresh produce including apple, orange, kabocha, taro, sweet potato, onions, and potato. There's Japanese frozen dessert treats like mochi ice cream, pint size flavored ice cream such as lychee, red bean, black sesame, and mango. The aisles have a variety of Japanese candy and snacks, plenty of flavored pocky sticks, chocolates, rice crackers, as well as daifuku which are Japanese rice cakes. There's beverages like creamy soda, calpico, green tea, nigori, sake, as well as sparkling sake, variety pack vodka seltzer, asahi, 22 oz sapporo beer. Across is various beauty skin care, kitchenware, and reusable bags. Other aisle has seaweed, panko bread crumbs, various Japanese seasonings and soup mix, ramen bowl, plenty of soup base and savory sauce by Kewpie. There's also tonkatsu sauce, unagi sushi sauce, and Yuzu ponzu too. Frozen section has natto which is fermented soy beans, there's miso paste, kimchee, yellow pickled radish, and frozen goods like umami gyoza dumplings and fish cake. Refrigerator section has eggs, tofu, bean sprouts, king trumpet mushroom, tuna and salmon. Other side has cold produce like nappa cabbage, Japanese cucumbers, green onion, turnip, butter gourd, edible chrysanthemum, lotus root, okra, shitake mushroom, and bok choy. They even have ready made pork cutlet bento, mini set sushi rolls like California roll, spicy tuna roll, inari, onigiri, daifuku mochi, macaroni salad, and sesame seaweed salad. I ordered Vegetable Yakisoba ($6.99), it's freshly cooked and served hot, noodles are nice and chewy, has plenty of sauteed crunchy cabbage, topped with red pickles, good portion, great flavor, yakisoba is satisfying and very delicious! Also purchased snacks, Yamazaki Chipstar Norishio Potato Chips ($5.95), and Yamamotoyama Teriyaki Seaweed Original ($7.99), these are light snacks, not salty, and tasty! They have a loyalty stamp card, when you make a purchase of $10, it's one stamp. My total was approximately $20, so I received two stamps. After 20 stamps, it's $10 off. Service from Yuka and Yoko is very kind, welcoming, helpful, and friendly!

Before opening this storefront, they did catering from home. The shop had its soft opening on April 14, 2025, followed by its grand opening on May 18, 2025. Inside is a small shop with a couple of tables, plus some outdoor seating, and fantastic background music. I was listening to several nostalgic 80s songs, including 'Til Tuesday "Voices Carry," Cyndi Lauper "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," The B-52's "Love Shack" and Naked Eyes "Always Something There To Remind Me." The playlist definitely sets a good mood and happy vibe! Menu offers a nice selection of savory, sweet, and specialty empanadas, as well as combos, Peruvian classic street food for salchipapas (french fries and hot dogs), sides, and drinks. All the savory empanadas are traditionally baked, but you can request them fried. Frying takes a little longer since it's made to order. Their most popular options are the steak, chicken, and ground beef empanadas. They offer them in two different ways, savory or traditional Peruvian. The Traditional Peruvian Style includes olives and raisins inside, that's what differentiates the savory from the traditional. They have a combo meal for 1, 2, or 3 empanadas that come with your choice of 1 or 2 sides (rice, beans, potatoes, or french fries). The most requested side is rice and beans. I ordered Meatlovers Pizza ($4.50) which is their Empanada of the Month for August. The empanada is beautifully baked to a golden crisp, inside has seasoned ground beef, pork sausage, pepperoni, melted mozzarella, and pizza sauce. It even came with a side of pizza sauce for dipping, it's great! For dessert, I tried Cheesecake Empanada ($4.50) and requested plain cheesecake. It's only available as a fried empanada, and made perfectly golden crispy, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, so yummy, not too sweet, and delightful! They also have other cheesecake empanada flavors that are worth a try, such as strawberry, white chocolate, raspberry, blueberry, guava, chocolate, and pumpkin. Service from owner Jose and Kelly is very kind, welcoming, helpful, and friendly! It was my first visit and they are so incredibly nice. I'm happy I got to try the Meatlovers Pizza empanada. It's not currently on the regular menu, but it's absolutely delicious! I really hope they keep it as a permanent option because I would order it again.

We ordered the ground beef and the steak empanadas Peruvian style, the the savory chicken, pumpkin cheesecake, apple, and mixed berry. As sides we had the rice, beans, and potato salad. The food was served hot and fresh - we ordered the empanadas fried and they fry them to order. The red and green sauces were good. Not a fan of the spicy mayo. Also not a fan of the Peruvian style ground beef and steak. Too much olive for my taste. The chicken empanadas were okay as well as the rice and potato salad. The beans were not a good taste. All of the dessert empanadas we fabulous! I really liked the mixed berry. Then I tried the chicha morada drink for the first time. OMG so good!!! I'd go back just to get more of that drink!

The hostess said that without a reservation we won't be seated. She said they were booked. We looked on open table and that was in fact not true, we made a reservation within the next 5 min and walked back in letting her know we had a reservation. We were seated, nice server. Menu looked good. Liked the open kitchen. The food came out, we all ordered Filet, 5 of us. Not sure if it was a coincidence but the older adults, myself included got a filet and it looked good. The two younger adults at the table go what I can only say looked like a tri-tip steak, not a full tri-tip or sliced tri-tip but those you see in a store that are cut from a larger tri-tip. It also tasted like a tri-tip, nothing like the other 3 people at the table. It's like they ran out of filters and served something close. Overall it's been VERY hard to find good food in Henderson, there are a lot of chain restaurants here....wish there were more to choose from.
